BEEP! BEEP!

0:00:460:00:48

Hello, fantastic to see you!

0:00:480:00:51

I'm out driving in the maker-mobile and who knows what we'll see today!

0:00:510:00:56

Whoa! Tocky here.

0:00:560:00:58

Mini maker message!

0:00:580:01:00

Hello, I'm Eva.

0:01:000:01:02

Hello, Eva. Can I help you today?

0:01:020:01:05

Yes, please, Mister Maker.

0:01:050:01:07

I'll be right with you!

0:01:070:01:09

Here we are.

0:01:250:01:26

Hello, Eva. Now, how can I help you today?

0:01:310:01:34

What can we make with this?

0:01:340:01:35

Oh, a paper plate!

0:01:350:01:38

I don't know. What can we make with this?

0:01:380:01:40

Wait a minute!

0:01:400:01:43

BRRRRROOMMMM!

0:01:440:01:46

VROOOM!

0:01:460:01:47

-SQUEAK!

-Oh-ho-ho! Whoa!

0:01:470:01:49

Hee-hee-hee!

0:01:490:01:50

BEEP! BEEP!

0:01:500:01:51

I've just had a great idea.

0:01:510:01:54

TING!

0:01:540:01:55

Let's try something.

0:01:550:01:57

Get behind the wheel of this colourful car picture,

0:01:570:02:01

-with a paper-plate steering wheel.

-BEEP!

0:02:010:02:04

-BOTH:

-Let's make it!

0:02:040:02:06

But first we need somewhere to make it.

0:02:060:02:09

We also need some things from the Doodle Drawers!

0:02:120:02:16

Wait here, Eva. I'll be back soon!

0:02:160:02:18

Some card.

0:02:210:02:23

Now we also need four lolly sticks, but we need some help to find them.

0:02:270:02:32

I know! Let's call Scraps!

0:02:320:02:34

BEEP! BEEP!

0:02:340:02:35

Brrrr! Ello.

0:02:370:02:38

Hello, Scraps! We need four lolly sticks. Can you help, please?

0:02:380:02:42

-Huh-huh-ha!

-Brilliant, thank you.

0:02:420:02:45

-CRASH! BANG!

-Hmmm. Mmm. Hmm.

0:02:450:02:49

Hm. Mm.

0:02:490:02:52

Well done, Scraps! Four lolly sticks! Thank you.

0:02:560:03:00

Hic!

0:03:000:03:01

Did you hear that?

0:03:030:03:06

A ruler, a sharp pencil, a ball of modelling clay and a glue stick.

0:03:110:03:16

And we also need some colourful bottle tops and some craft foam.

0:03:200:03:25

This is what we're going to make today -

0:03:280:03:30

a fantastic driving picture! Are you ready, Eva?

0:03:300:03:35

-Yes!

-Great!

0:03:350:03:36

Are YOU ready? Brilliant. Let's get making.

0:03:360:03:39

The first thing we do is bring in a big piece of card.

0:03:390:03:43

You can use whatever colour you like, but we're using silver.

0:03:430:03:48

I'm going to turn this over and, with a pencil,

0:03:480:03:53

I'm going to draw a big curve.

0:03:530:03:55

You need to cut this out.

0:03:550:03:58

-But we have to be careful because scissors are...

-Sharp!

0:03:580:04:02

This will be the car's dashboard.

0:04:080:04:11

I'm putting this to one side for the moment

0:04:110:04:15

because it's time to turn our paper plate into a steering wheel...

0:04:150:04:19

like this! To do this,

0:04:190:04:22

we turn our paper plate upside down and draw a cross on the back of it.

0:04:220:04:27

We use a ruler for this.

0:04:270:04:30

We're going to make a hole here...

0:04:320:04:35

here...here...and here.

0:04:350:04:37

Now, to make these holes, put a ball of modelling clay underneath

0:04:370:04:43

and carefully push a sharp pencil through the plate.

0:04:430:04:47

This is a bit tricky, so you might want to ask an adult to help you.

0:04:470:04:52

Do the same to make three more holes...

0:04:520:04:56

..and carefully cut out the four sections of the plate like this...

0:05:000:05:05

to make your steering wheel.

0:05:050:05:09

I'll put that to one side for the moment

0:05:100:05:13

and bring in a nice big piece of paper for our background.

0:05:130:05:17

We'll stick our dashboard onto this background paper. Will you help me?

0:05:170:05:22

Thank you.

0:05:220:05:24

Glue away.

0:05:240:05:25

Brilliant! Well done, Eva, thank you. That was a great help.

0:05:270:05:32

I'm going to glue on the dashboard.

0:05:320:05:36

I'm going to put a bit of glue here for our steering wheel.

0:05:360:05:41

These lolly sticks will be the windscreen wipers.

0:05:410:05:45

We can arrange and glue down

0:05:460:05:49

all of our coloured bottle tops and craft foam pieces to make...

0:05:490:05:54

the buttons on our dashboard and steering wheel!

0:05:540:05:59

Will you help me with this, Eva? Can you put some glue on there?

0:05:590:06:04

It's quite sticky, isn't it? We can put this in the middle, there.

0:06:050:06:11

I'll choose this bottle top and put some glue on the edge, like that.

0:06:110:06:17

Put that in the middle and stick down lots of other bottle tops

0:06:170:06:21

and craft foam pieces to finish your driving picture.

0:06:220:06:26

You could even turn your paper plate into the wheel of a spacecraft

0:06:260:06:31

with glittery bottle tops and printed paper planets!

0:06:310:06:34

We made it! And now, Eva, your home is where the art is!

0:06:340:06:39

High five!

0:06:390:06:41

Well done! Brilliant!

0:06:410:06:43

What a colourful car picture! Good job, Eva! Bye!

0:06:430:06:47

-HE SIGHS

-Ha, ha-ha.

0:06:470:06:50

Lovely! Hee-hee!

0:06:500:06:51

It's brilliant being out in the maker-mobile.

0:06:510:06:55

There's always so much to see and do!

0:06:550:06:57

GIGGLING

0:06:570:06:59

BOING!

0:06:590:07:00

What's that noise?

0:07:000:07:02

Oh!

0:07:020:07:03

Guess who that is?

0:07:030:07:05

ALL: Whee!

0:07:080:07:11

ALL: # I am a shape!

0:07:130:07:14

# I am a shape!

0:07:170:07:19

# I am a circle

0:07:220:07:24

# I am a triangle

0:07:270:07:29

# I am a square

0:07:320:07:34

# I am a rectangle

0:07:370:07:39

# I am a shape!

0:07:460:07:48

# I am a shape!

0:07:510:07:53

# I am a shape!

0:07:560:07:58

# I am a shape!

0:08:010:08:02

# I am a circle. #

0:08:090:08:11

How many circles can you see?

0:08:140:08:16

-POP!

-One...

0:08:160:08:18

-POP!

-..two...

0:08:180:08:21

-POP!

-..eight...

0:08:300:08:31

-POP!

-..nine!

0:08:310:08:33

There are nine circles!

0:08:330:08:36

Well done, Shapes.

0:08:360:08:38

It's time to get back in the Doodle Drawers!

0:08:380:08:42

GIGGLING

0:08:420:08:45

Hee, hee-hee!

0:08:450:08:46

BEEP! BEEP!

0:08:460:08:47

Oh, what a beautiful day for a relaxing drive in the maker-mobile.

0:08:500:08:55

Caw!

0:08:550:08:56

Minute-make time!

0:08:560:08:58

Hey! It's minute-make time!

0:08:580:09:00

I'm on my way!

0:09:000:09:01

Here we are.

0:09:140:09:16

-Oh-ho! It's minute-make time!

-CHEERING

0:09:230:09:27

And today we're going to make something really wobbly!

0:09:270:09:31

Whoa! Whoooaaahhh!

0:09:310:09:34

That's right, we're going to make one of these...

0:09:340:09:37

It's a wobbly pen head!

0:09:370:09:39

Look! It's brilliant!

0:09:390:09:41

And if you pick your pen up, it really wobbles!

0:09:410:09:46

Now, to make one of these you will need...

0:09:460:09:50

a glue stick, a pipe cleaner, two pompoms,

0:09:500:09:54

that's one large and one small, and of course, a pen.

0:09:540:09:59

Oh! We'll also need some googly eyes,

0:09:590:10:01

you can find these in an arts and crafts shop.

0:10:010:10:04

I'll be back very soon!

0:10:040:10:06

Oh! I've got them!

0:10:120:10:14

Here...

0:10:140:10:17

are our googly eyes.

0:10:170:10:18

Now, do you think it's possible to make this wobbly pen head

0:10:220:10:26

in just one minute?

0:10:260:10:28

CHILDREN: No way!

0:10:280:10:30

Well, I'm going to have to be quick,

0:10:300:10:33

but I'll remind you how to do it at the end. Are you ready?

0:10:330:10:37

ALL: Yes!

0:10:370:10:38

Are YOU ready?

0:10:380:10:40

Brilliant! Let's make it in a minute!

0:10:400:10:43

ALL: Three, two, one!

0:10:430:10:45

Start the clock!

0:10:450:10:47

Let's get our pipe cleaner and the pompom,

0:10:470:10:50

and push the pompom onto the pipe cleaner.

0:10:500:10:53

It's quite fiddly, so ask an adult.

0:10:530:10:55

Get the small pompom now,

0:10:550:10:57

and put on plenty of glue.

0:10:570:10:59

This is going to be the nose, so stick it in the middle.

0:10:590:11:03

Let's get a googly eye,

0:11:030:11:05

some glue on there,

0:11:050:11:07

and put that first googly eye on. There we go.

0:11:070:11:11

And now the other googly eye,

0:11:110:11:13

on that side there. Great. He's looking very good.

0:11:130:11:17

Now get the pen and turn it upside down,

0:11:170:11:19

and start wrapping this pipe cleaner round, and round, and round,

0:11:190:11:26

and round it goes, and then on the end of your pen,

0:11:260:11:29

we've got a wobbly pen head!

0:11:290:11:31

CHILDREN CHEER

0:11:310:11:34

Phew! I made it!

0:11:340:11:36

But if you've got more than a minute,

0:11:360:11:38

you can make all sorts of wobbly pen heads.

0:11:380:11:41

You could do this.

0:11:410:11:42

How about a blue one with curly pipe cleaner hair?

0:11:420:11:45

Or this one with pompom hair.

0:11:450:11:49

Or even this one, with wild woolly hair and a sticker for a mouth.

0:11:490:11:53

Wobbly pen heads, made in a minute.

0:11:530:11:56

Why don't you have a go? Here's a reminder of how to do it.

0:11:560:12:00

'Let's go back and take another look.

0:12:000:12:02

'Push a pompom onto a pipe cleaner,

0:12:020:12:05

'glue on a smaller pompom to make a nose.

0:12:050:12:11

'Add two googly eyes.

0:12:110:12:14

'Wind your wobbly head around a pen,

0:12:140:12:16

'and your wobbly pen head is finished.'

0:12:160:12:19

Why don't you try and make one in a minute?

0:12:210:12:24

Must dash, everyone! Bye!

0:12:240:12:26

ALL: Bye!

0:12:260:12:27

Now, where to next?

0:12:310:12:35

Hello, Mister Maker.

0:12:350:12:38

Oh, nice to see you.

0:12:380:12:39

Can you guess what we're making today?

0:12:390:12:42

What ARE they going to make?

0:12:420:12:44

I am grey.

0:12:480:12:50

I am pink.

0:12:540:12:57

I'm dark blue.

0:12:590:13:01

I'm light blue.

0:13:070:13:09

I am black.

0:13:130:13:15

I am purple.

0:13:170:13:19

ALL: It's a hippopotamus.

0:13:350:13:37

Well done, everybody! See you soon!

0:13:370:13:40

Now watch this.

0:13:400:13:41

Hello! Are you ready

0:13:410:13:44

for a big surprise?

0:13:440:13:46

I'm about to surprise these mini-makers.

0:13:480:13:51

They've no idea what's going to happen.

0:13:510:13:54

Hello, everyone!

0:13:540:13:55

There's Mister Maker!

0:13:550:13:57

ALL: Hello, Mister Maker!

0:13:570:14:00

Hello! It's great to meet you.

0:14:000:14:02

Now, do you like to party?

0:14:020:14:04

ALL: Yeah!

0:14:040:14:06

Great! I do too.

0:14:060:14:07

Mini disco!

0:14:070:14:09

MUSIC PLAYS

0:14:090:14:12

THEY LAUGH

0:14:170:14:19

MUSIC STOPS

0:14:230:14:24

Do you know what? I think we need to invite more people!

0:14:240:14:28

ALL: Yeah!

0:14:280:14:29

Great! So let's make some really big tube people. Will you help me?

0:14:290:14:34

ALL: Yeah!

0:14:340:14:35

Fantastic! OK then,

0:14:350:14:37

Anna, Khalid, Olivia,

0:14:370:14:39

Gabriella and Faizan,

0:14:390:14:40

let's make it!

0:14:400:14:42

Now, we're going to make our tube people.

0:14:420:14:45

-What do we need to put on them?

-Hair.

0:14:450:14:48

-That's a good idea. What sort of hair could they have?

-Spiky!

0:14:480:14:52

Apart from hair, what else should they have?

0:14:520:14:55

Mouth and teeth.

0:14:550:14:57

And teeth!

0:14:570:14:58

"Hello, I am a tube person. Hello. Hello."

0:14:580:15:01

-Is that good?

-Yeah!

0:15:010:15:02

We'll use that, well done.

0:15:020:15:04

I think we know what they're going to look like.

0:15:040:15:07

Let's get making! Come on, everyone!

0:15:070:15:10

That's it, this way.

0:15:100:15:11

I'm doing the nose.

0:15:130:15:15

I'm doing the eyes.

0:15:160:15:18

-What are you making here? Faizan?

-The mouth.

0:15:240:15:27

The mouth. Anna?

0:15:270:15:29

-I'm making the nose.

-And what about you, Khalid?

0:15:290:15:33

-Pocket.

-The pocket, great. Keep going, everyone. Well done.

0:15:330:15:37

Gabriella's made lips.

0:15:370:15:40

And Anna's made some eyes.

0:15:400:15:43

These big tubes will make great bodies.

0:15:430:15:47

Ha-ha! He-he!

0:15:500:15:52

-Mister Maker!

-Oh, sorry!

0:15:520:15:55

Right, under you go! That's it.

0:15:550:15:58

We're having great fun making our big tube people,

0:15:580:16:02

so why don't you have a go making some smaller ones?

0:16:020:16:06

Try making a terrific tube friend.

0:16:070:16:10

Make it, play with it, have fun with it.

0:16:100:16:14

To make one you will need half a kitchen roll,

0:16:140:16:17

coloured paper, a glue stick,

0:16:170:16:19

pieces of wool, some small lids,

0:16:190:16:22

coloured sticky dots, and a pen.

0:16:220:16:24

Take the kitchen roll, then wrap your coloured paper around the tube

0:16:240:16:29

and glue it in place to make clothes.

0:16:290:16:32

Make sure you leave some space at the top for your tube person's face.

0:16:320:16:37

Take the wool,

0:16:370:16:39

and tape it to both sides of the tube for hair...

0:16:390:16:44

..like this.

0:16:460:16:47

Now make a hat,

0:16:490:16:51

by gluing the two small lids together.

0:16:510:16:53

Then stick the lid hat to the tube.

0:16:550:16:59

Decorate your tube person with coloured stickers,

0:17:060:17:10

and white stickers for eyes.

0:17:100:17:13

Then you can add some pupils with a black pen...

0:17:130:17:17

..and maybe some eyelashes and a smiley mouth.

0:17:190:17:22

You can make as many tube people as you like...

0:17:240:17:27

..in as many different designs as you like.

0:17:290:17:33

The more you make, the more you can play with.

0:17:330:17:36
