0:00:340:00:37

Hello! Nice to see you.

0:00:470:00:50

I'm out and about in my marvellous Maker Mobile!

0:00:500:00:53

The great thing about my Maker Mobile is that it can go ANYWHERE!

0:00:530:00:57

Whoa! Tocky here. Mini Maker message!

0:00:570:01:01

Hello! I'm Gowry.

0:01:010:01:03

Hello, Gowry. Can I help you?

0:01:030:01:06

-Yes, please, Mister Maker!

-I'll be right with you!

0:01:060:01:09

Here I am!

0:01:260:01:27

Hello, Gowry. How can I help you?

0:01:320:01:35

Can you show me how to make a city picture?

0:01:350:01:38

A city picture is a great idea.

0:01:380:01:41

I know, let's set ourselves a challenge!

0:01:410:01:43

Let's say we'll make our picture from the first thing we find

0:01:430:01:48

in my special suitcase!

0:01:480:01:50

-Does that sound like a good plan?

-OK.

-Wait here. I'll be right back.

0:01:500:01:55

Here we go!

0:01:550:01:57

Now, we're going to make our picture using...

0:01:570:02:03

a mouldy, stinky turnip!

0:02:030:02:05

Ooh, no, that smells awful! Smell that!

0:02:070:02:10

Oh, no.

0:02:100:02:11

This won't do.

0:02:110:02:13

Let's try again.

0:02:130:02:15

Let's make our picture using...

0:02:150:02:18

a kitchen sponge! That's much better.

0:02:180:02:22

And it gives me a great idea!

0:02:220:02:26

Let's try something!

0:02:260:02:29

Try making this super city scene by painting onto paper with sponges!

0:02:300:02:35

It's a sponge-print city!

0:02:350:02:38

Let's make it, but first, you'll need somewhere to make it.

0:02:380:02:42

And we'll need some things from the doodle drawers.

0:02:450:02:49

Lots of coloured paper and a glue stick.

0:02:540:02:58

Now, we also need some cleaning sponges

0:03:010:03:04

and we'll need help to find them. Let's call Scraps.

0:03:040:03:08

BEEP BEEP!

0:03:080:03:10

-Hello!

-Oh, hello, Scraps. Have you seen any cleaning sponges in there?

0:03:100:03:15

-Er... Mm-mm!

-Great! Can we have some, please?

0:03:150:03:19

-SCRAPS MUMBLES

-Thank you!

0:03:190:03:22

Scraps!

0:03:220:03:23

-That's enough, thank you!

-Bye!

0:03:270:03:30

Perfect. Well done!

0:03:300:03:33

Some paper plates.

0:03:370:03:41

And we also need lots of lovely coloured paint.

0:03:470:03:53

So, Gowry, this is what we're going to make.

0:03:530:03:57

It's a super sponge-print city. It looks fantastic.

0:03:570:04:02

So, are you ready? Great!

0:04:020:04:04

Are you ready? Brilliant! Let's get making.

0:04:040:04:07

And we're to start by squirting out our paint onto a paper plate.

0:04:070:04:13

Gowry, you can help me with this. Here we go!

0:04:130:04:16

There we go. Let's put those down.

0:04:160:04:19

Now let's get squirting!

0:04:190:04:22

Well done, Gowry. Now we're going to dip the sponges into the paint

0:04:250:04:30

and print them onto the sheets of paper,

0:04:300:04:33

making different looks and patterns.

0:04:330:04:35

Let's use this sponge here, I think.

0:04:350:04:39

And we're going to print orange paint onto purple paper.

0:04:390:04:44

Look! The prints looks like bricks.

0:04:490:04:52

Haha! Let's do some more sponge printing!

0:04:520:04:55

That's it, and twist. Go for it, Gowry.

0:04:550:04:58

You can print as many shapes and colours as you like.

0:04:590:05:04

And when your prints are dry,

0:05:090:05:11

cut out all the different shapes you need for your city picture.

0:05:110:05:16

That's a large curved hill shape for the city to sit on.

0:05:160:05:20

Some tall buildings

0:05:200:05:21

and some chimneys with smoke coming out of the top.

0:05:210:05:25

You can also cut out some rectangle or square shapes for the windows.

0:05:250:05:29

-But we need to be careful because scissors are...

-Sharp!

-Right.

0:05:290:05:33

You've done this before, haven't you?

0:05:330:05:37

We can arrange our city however we like, so let's get started, Gowry.

0:05:400:05:45

Let's put the hill at the bottom.

0:05:450:05:47

Which building should we go for first? That one.

0:05:470:05:51

Good choice.

0:05:510:05:53

Put all your buildings in place.

0:05:530:05:56

Add some coloured papered windows like this.

0:05:580:06:01

And glue everything down.

0:06:010:06:03

Super! It's a sponge-print city.

0:06:030:06:06

And if you really enjoyed that,

0:06:060:06:08

there are lots of other ideas you could try.

0:06:080:06:11

How about a sponge-print castle with fluffy printed clouds?

0:06:110:06:17

Or you could even try some terrific sponge-print trees

0:06:170:06:21

on top of a flowery hill. Well, Gowry, what do you think?

0:06:210:06:25

-It looks good.

-It looks good. Great! I'm glad you're pleased. We made it!

0:06:250:06:30

And now, Gowry, your home is where the art is! Hey!

0:06:300:06:34

High five. Whoa!

0:06:340:06:36

What a brilliant sponge-print city. Well done, Gowry. Bye!

0:06:360:06:41

HE SIGHS

0:06:410:06:43

It's brilliant being out and about in the Maker Mobile.

0:06:430:06:46

There's always so much to see and do.

0:06:460:06:49

LAUGHTER

0:06:490:06:51

What's that noise?

0:06:510:06:54

Oh, who could it be?

0:06:540:06:56

# I am a Shape!

0:07:030:07:06

# I am a Shape!

0:07:080:07:11

# I am a circle

0:07:120:07:15

# I am a triangle

0:07:180:07:20

# I am a square

0:07:220:07:24

# I am a rectangle

0:07:270:07:30

# I am a Shape!

0:07:360:07:38

# I am a Shape!

0:07:420:07:45

# I am a Shape!

0:07:460:07:48

# I am a Shape!

0:07:480:07:51

# I am a Shape!

0:07:510:07:53

# I am a triangle. #

0:07:590:08:02

What are the triangles making today?

0:08:040:08:07

Can you guess?

0:08:070:08:09

Any ideas yet?

0:08:120:08:15

It's a budgie!

0:08:190:08:21

Well done, Shapes. It's time to get back in the Doodle Drawers.

0:08:230:08:27

HE LAUGHS

0:08:300:08:32

# You can see how happy I feel

0:08:340:08:37

# When I'm driving in my Maker Maker Maker Maker Maker Mobile! #

0:08:370:08:42

Make time!

0:08:420:08:44

Hey! It's minute-make time. I'm on my way.

0:08:440:08:47

We've arrived!

0:08:590:09:02

It's minute-make time, everyone!

0:09:090:09:11

THEY CHEER

0:09:110:09:13

And here's what we're going to make today - a brilliant minute mask.

0:09:130:09:19

Haha! It's a fabulous frog. Ribbit!

0:09:190:09:22

Now, to make one of these, you will need

0:09:220:09:26

some sticky tape.

0:09:260:09:29

A glue stick. Some scissors.

0:09:290:09:31

Some green tissue paper. A paper plate.

0:09:310:09:34

Some stickers. And a lolly stick.

0:09:340:09:38

We'll also need some googly eyes

0:09:380:09:40

and you can get those from an arts and crafts shop. I'll be back soon.

0:09:400:09:44

I've got them.

0:09:500:09:52

In here, are our googly eyes.

0:09:520:09:57

Now, do you think it's possible to make this mask in just one minute?

0:09:570:10:03

ALL: No way!

0:10:030:10:05

Let's fine out. I'm going to have to be very quick.

0:10:050:10:09

But don't worry - I'll remind you how to do it at the end. Ready?

0:10:090:10:12

ALL: Yes!

0:10:120:10:14

Are you ready? Great! Let's make it in a minute.

0:10:140:10:18

Three, two, one!

0:10:180:10:21

Start the clock!

0:10:210:10:23

Let's get our plate and scissors

0:10:230:10:25

and carefully cut the shape of our frog.

0:10:250:10:28

-Be careful with scissors because they are...

-Sharp!

-Right.

0:10:280:10:32

We're cutting the shape of our frog's face.

0:10:320:10:35

I'm going to turn it over and stick on our lolly stick.

0:10:350:10:40

Let's turn that over.

0:10:400:10:42

Then put on lots of glue.

0:10:420:10:45

There we go. There's glue there.

0:10:450:10:47

And glue there.

0:10:470:10:49

Then we scrunch up tissue paper into balls.

0:10:490:10:54

And stick that first one on there.

0:10:540:10:57

And now this tissue paper into a ball as well.

0:10:570:11:01

And stick it on there. They're the frog's eyes.

0:11:010:11:05

Now let's get our googly eyes.

0:11:050:11:07

And glue those on. There's one.

0:11:070:11:10

And another eye. Glue it on. There's the second one.

0:11:100:11:13

Now we just need to put on some stickers

0:11:130:11:16

for the frog's nose.

0:11:160:11:18

And if I can do this last one I have made a minute mask!

0:11:180:11:23

-Yay!

-Phew! I made it.

0:11:230:11:27

And there are lots of other ideas you could try too.

0:11:270:11:31

How about this orange funny face mask with fun fur bushy eyebrows?

0:11:310:11:36

Ooh! Or this sparkly one

0:11:360:11:38

with long paper eyelashes and lots of shiny sequins!

0:11:380:11:43

Or you could even do a three-eyed alien face mask

0:11:430:11:46

with a spotty wobbly face.

0:11:460:11:48

Magnificent minute masks - why don't you try and make one?

0:11:480:11:52

Here's a reminder of how to do it.

0:11:520:11:55

Let's go back to the beginning and take another look.

0:11:550:11:59

Cut a paper plate like this.

0:11:590:12:01

Turn it over and tape a lolly stick on the back.

0:12:010:12:05

Glue on some scrunched-up tissue paper balls.

0:12:050:12:08

Add some googly eyes and stickers for a nose.

0:12:080:12:11

And your minute mask is finished! Why don't you try and make one?

0:12:110:12:17

Right, I'd better dash, everybody! Goodbye!

0:12:170:12:20

Bye!

0:12:200:12:23

You never know what will happen when you're in the Maker Mobile.

0:12:280:12:32

Hello, Mister Maker.

0:12:320:12:35

-Oh, nice to see you.

-Look what we're making today.

0:12:350:12:39

Let's find out, shall we?

0:12:390:12:41

I am brown.

0:12:450:12:47

I'm yellow.

0:12:530:12:56

I am purple!

0:13:020:13:06

I am peach.

0:13:060:13:08

I'm light blue.

0:13:080:13:10

I am red.

0:13:120:13:16

I am green.

0:13:160:13:18

I'm dark blue.

0:13:190:13:22

I am orange.

0:13:220:13:26

I am black.

0:13:310:13:33

It's a treasure chest.

0:13:330:13:36

Well done, everybody. See you soon.

0:13:360:13:39

Now watch this.

0:13:390:13:40

Hello. Are you ready...

0:13:400:13:43

for a big surprise?

0:13:430:13:46

These Mini Makers have absolutely no idea what's going to happen next

0:13:460:13:51

or what we're going to make.

0:13:510:13:54

-Hello!

-Mister Maker!

0:13:540:13:57

Hello. It's great to meet you.

0:13:570:13:59

PHONE RINGS

0:13:590:14:01

Excuse me. I'd better take this.

0:14:010:14:04

Hello. Oh, hello, Granny Maker!

0:14:040:14:07

It's Granny Maker! How are you?

0:14:070:14:09

Not good! My cat is stuck up a tree.

0:14:090:14:13

Not Tiddles! Don't worry, Granny. I've got a big idea.

0:14:130:14:18

Right, Mini Makers. This is an emergency.

0:14:180:14:21

I think we should make a big fire engine. Will you help me?

0:14:210:14:25

-Yeah!

-Brilliant! Granny, we're on our way.

0:14:250:14:29

Don't worry, Tiddles has come down now.

0:14:290:14:32

Oh, I was really looking forward to making that fire engine.

0:14:320:14:36

-Shall we make it anyway?

-Yeah!

-Fantastic. All right, then,

0:14:360:14:40

DeMario, Jessica, Janice, Amna and Ryan, let's make it!

0:14:400:14:46

-Well, today we're going to make a big fire engine.

-Yeah!

0:14:460:14:51

-What should our fire engine look like?

-Red.

-Shall we paint it red?

0:14:510:14:56

-Yeah!

-Have a look on the table and see if we can use something.

0:14:560:15:01

Hold some things up and tell me what you've got.

0:15:010:15:04

-Oh, and what's that, Janice?

-A ball. A plastic one.

0:15:040:15:08

-What can we make out of that, do you think?

-Um,

0:15:080:15:11

-the top of the siren.

-That would be good.

0:15:110:15:14

-What noise does the siren make?

-Eee-ooh.

0:15:140:15:18

-I think we're ready to make our fire engine, aren't we?

-Yeah!

0:15:180:15:22

Let's make it!

0:15:220:15:25

Let's make our sirens.

0:15:250:15:28

Finished.

0:15:320:15:35

And we've got to paint our fire engine.

0:15:370:15:40

Don't forget the headlights, Mini Makers.

0:15:450:15:49

Bring it in, everyone. That's it. Keep coming. That's it, brilliant.

0:15:490:15:53

We're having great fun making our big fire engine.

0:15:530:15:57

Why don't you try making a small one at home?

0:15:570:16:01

Try making this fantastic fire engine. Make it. Play with it.

0:16:020:16:06

Have fun with it.

0:16:060:16:09

To make one, you will need two small boxes.

0:16:090:16:12

Some glue. Shiny paper.

0:16:120:16:14

Lots of lids. Paint and a paintbrush.

0:16:140:16:18

Stickers, a pen, and a lollipop stick.

0:16:180:16:22

Start by gluing two small boxes together like this.

0:16:250:16:30

Then paint the boxes with a painty mixture that's half gloopy glue

0:16:350:16:39

and half paint.

0:16:390:16:41

Glue on two blue lids for the fire engine's flashing lights.

0:16:430:16:49

And four black lids for the wheels -

0:16:510:16:54

that's two on each side of the fire engine.

0:16:540:16:57

Now cut out some rectangles of shiny paper and stick them down.

0:16:590:17:04

You can use foil for this, if you like.

0:17:040:17:06

You could also use different shaped stickers

0:17:090:17:12

to decorate the fire engine.

0:17:120:17:15

But don't forget to do both sides!

0:17:150:17:17

Next, use a black pen to add lots of detail.

0:17:190:17:22

And last of all, draw some lines on a lolly stick

0:17:240:17:27

and glue it on for a ladder.

0:17:270:17:31

Your fantastic fire engine is finished and ready to play with.

0:17:350:17:39

What a fun way to make a small fire engine.

0:17:410:17:44

But how's our big one coming along?

0:17:440:17:47

That's it, Janice. Bring in the tyre.

0:17:470:17:49

This is really good fun, isn't it?

0:17:490:17:52

Hmm.

0:17:530:17:55

This is our road.

0:17:590:18:02

LAUGHTER

0:18:070:18:10

Nearly finished.

0:18:140:18:17

Well done, everyone! We made it! Yay!

0:18:170:18:22

SIREN

0:18:260:18:28

Now, that is a fabulous fire engine!

0:18:280:18:31

Mister Maker, time to go!

0:18:360:18:39

That's it for now. My making time's over. But yours is just beginning.

0:18:390:18:44

It's time to put the Maker Mobile back in its box.

0:18:440:18:48
