-Cam we make a space picture?

-A space picture, eh? Oh!

I've always wanted to go into space. Hmm.

'OK, then Captain Ailish, start the countdown.

'Three, two, one, lift off!

Hey, Ailish, I've just had a great idea.

Let's try something.

Try using water and a sponge to make a crazy space picture

with a rocket blasting into a multi-coloured galaxy.

BOTH: Let's make it!

But first we need somewhere to make it.

Ha-ha-ha! And we'll also need some things from the doodle drawers.

I'll be back soon.

Some paper, some card and a paintbrush.

Some brightly coloured squirty paint.

A glue stick and some circle shape stickers.

Ah, we also need some water and a sponge.

Let's ask for some help.

PEEP PEEP!

Scraps! We need some water and a sponge. Can you help?

Oh, Scraps, well done.

Look at that, some water and a sponge. Brilliant.

Ah, ha-ha!

Right, I'm going to be really careful with this.

So this is what we're going to make today.

It's a super space picture, complete with a rocket,

blasting off into a multi-coloured galaxy.

-So are you ready?

-Yes.

Are you ready? Great, let's get making.

The first thing to do is make a very special watery paint mixture.

That's made up of half paint...

..and half water.

Now we need to give this a good stir. There we go.

Can you grab a brush and get stirring?

Well done. You can make a watery paint mixture

for every colour you want to use. It's up to you which you choose.

Well done, good job.

Now we've got lots of colours of watery paint.

It's time to bring in some plain paper or card

and wet it with a wet sponge.

With a paintbrush splodge the painty mixture onto the paper.

It's a great effect and look how the mixture soaks into the paper.

Remember to use lots of nice, bright colours.

And then leave it to dry.

There, all dry and very colourful. Now it's time to make our rocket.

Draw around your thumb onto some coloured card

to make a pointy rocket shape.

Do the same onto some yellow card to make the flame trail.

And carefully cut out both pieces.

Then add some finishing touches

with coloured circle-shaped stickers.

If I move these over here, can you stick on the windows for our rocket?

Well done, it looks like our rocket is ready.

Let's stick it onto our multi-coloured space background.

Can you put some glue on the back, please?

Well done. The flame trail goes on first.

And then the rocket on top. Fantastic! Look at that!

Whah! Minute Make Time!

Hey, it's Minute Make Time.

I'm on my way.

Here we are.

-It's Minute Make Time, everyone.

-ALL: Yeah!

Today we're going to make something using pasta.

No, not that type of pasta, this type of dried pasta.

It's called spaghetti.

We're going to use it to make this pasta creature.

It's a hedgehog and its spikes are made out of spaghetti.

To make a pasta creature, you will need -

some dried pieces of pasta, you can use whatever type of pasta you like.

But today we're using broken up pieces of spaghetti.

We're also using a little pom-pom

and we'll need googly eyes and air-drying clay.

You can find these things in an art and craft shop.

Right, here is our air-drying clay.

And our googly eyes.

Now, do you think it's possible to make this pasta creature

-in just one minute?

-No way!

Well, I think I can. I'll have to be very quick though.

Don't worry, I'll remind you how to do it at the end. Are you ready?

-Yes!

-Are you ready? Great, let's make it in a minute.

-Three, two, one!

-Start the clock.

We get our ball of air-drying clay and pinch a nose at the front

to make a snout. There we go.

Then get the pom-pom and squidge it on the front as well.

Then add two googly eyes and push those into the clay.

One there and then one there.

Now we get our pieces of dried spaghetti.

These are going to make the spikes.

Just stick them in everywhere around our little hedgehog.

It's a bit fiddly this.

But it's lots of fun.

And you can take more time over this at home.

I've got to be quick.

Another bit there. Whoo-hoo!

And another bit round there.

One round the front. There we go.

And another round the front.

I hope I'm going to do this. We need a few more spikes.

One more in there should be enough.

And we have a pasta creature.

ALL: Yes!

Yeah, that did deserve a big cheer.

It was fiddly, but if you've got more than a minute,

you could paint yours like this one here.

And if you have even more time, you could make a different creature

using different pasta.

How about this macaroni monster painted orange?

Or what about a spotty octopus with a pasta bow tie?

Or you could even make a longer creature like a crocodile

with bumpy pasta shapes.

Mr Crocodile, we made it in a minute.

Nice and snappy, Mister Maker, yeah.

Pasta creatures, why don't you try and make one?

Here's a reminder of how to do it.

Let's go back to the beginning.

Pinch a point into a ball of air-drying clay.

Add a pom-pom nose and two googly eyes.

Push in some pieces of dried spaghetti for the spikes.

And your pasta creature is finished.

for a big surprise?!

These Mini Makers have no idea I'm coming to help them make something.

I've got a challenge for you.

Oh, look at me, I'm Farmer Maker and I've got a farmer's hat,

my farmer's boots,

but something's missing.

My tractor! Will you help me build one?

Yes!

All right then, Fatima, Hibo, Mubarak, Amin and Noor,

let's make it.

We're going to make a big tractor. What should our tractor look like?

-Big.

-Big. What colour shall we paint it?

-Red.

-Red. Good idea.

Green!

Ha-ha! A green tractor.

-What colour have forgotten on the table?

-Blue.

-Blue! Shall we paint our tractor blue?

-Yes!

-I think we're ready to make a big tractor, aren't we?

-Yes.

-Painting the hay.

-The hay, the hay is yellow.

Noor, what are you painting red?

-The trailer.

-The trailer! Fantastic!

-And of course, the tractor is...

-ALL: Blue!

We're having great fun making our big tractor.

Why don't you try making a smaller one at home?

Try making a terrific tractor and trailer!

Make it, play with it, have fun with it!

To make one, you will need small boxes, a glue stick, a pencil,

a clean, empty tub, paints and brushes,

scraps of paper, some stickers, and lots of lids.

First, glue your boxes together, like this.

then push in a pencil to make an exhaust pipe.

Now take an empty tub for the trailer,

Paint this and the tractor with a mixture

of half paint and half gloopy glue, which helps it to stick.

Next, collect some lids

and glue them on both sides of the tractor and trailer for wheels.

To make the windows, stick on some square stickers.

Don't worry if you don't have stickers -

you can glue on pieces of paper.

Take the rest of your lids and stick them down to make extra details

like the middle of the wheels, or headlights.

You can add more details using card.

Tape the trailer to the back of the tractor with sticky tape,

and your terrific tractor is finished and ready to play with.

What a fun idea!
