Oh, hello! Lovely to see you. This is my marvellous Makermobile. | 0:00:47 | 0:00:53
I've come out for a drive. I wonder what we're going to see today? | 0:00:53 | 0:00:57
Tocky here. Mini Maker message. | 0:00:57 | 0:01:01
-Hello. I'm Frankie. -Hello, Frankie. Can I help you today? | 0:01:01 | 0:01:05
-Yes, please. -I'll be there soon. | 0:01:05 | 0:01:08
Here I am. | 0:01:25 | 0:01:26
-Hi, Frankie. How can I help you? -What can we do with paint like this? | 0:01:30 | 0:01:35
What can we do with paint like this? Let's have a think, shall we? | 0:01:35 | 0:01:40
-Oh! -MISTER MAKER SNEEZES | 0:01:40 | 0:01:42
That was close, but don't worry. | 0:01:42 | 0:01:45
I'm not going to squirt this paint everywhere. No way! | 0:01:45 | 0:01:51
HE SNEEZES | 0:01:51 | 0:01:54
Oh, dear! | 0:01:54 | 0:01:57
Sorry about that. Ha-ha! I'll just clean you up. | 0:01:57 | 0:02:01
Sorry. | 0:02:01 | 0:02:02
I'll tell you what though, | 0:02:02 | 0:02:04
that paint squirt has just given me a great idea. | 0:02:04 | 0:02:08
Let's try something. | 0:02:08 | 0:02:10
Try squirting with ready-mixed paint to make your very own masterpiece. | 0:02:10 | 0:02:16
Priceless. | 0:02:16 | 0:02:18
BOTH: Let's make it! | 0:02:18 | 0:02:20
But first we need somewhere to make it. | 0:02:20 | 0:02:23
Ha-ha! We'll also need some things from the Doodle Drawers. | 0:02:25 | 0:02:30
I'll be back soon. | 0:02:30 | 0:02:31
Some coloured paper. | 0:02:37 | 0:02:40
We also need lots of coloured squirty paint. | 0:02:43 | 0:02:46
I know, let's ask Scraps for help. | 0:02:46 | 0:02:49
HOOTER | 0:02:49 | 0:02:50
Oh, there you are, Scraps. Scraps? | 0:02:51 | 0:02:56
-Scraps! -Ah! | 0:02:56 | 0:02:58
Scraps, I need some brightly coloured paint, please. | 0:02:58 | 0:03:02
Can you help? Brilliant. | 0:03:02 | 0:03:04
Thank you. Go on, off you go. | 0:03:04 | 0:03:07
Oh! | 0:03:07 | 0:03:09 | |
Here he comes. Oh, fantastic! Well done, Scraps. | 0:03:09 | 0:03:13
Thank you! | 0:03:17 | 0:03:19
Here we go, Frankie. We're nearly ready, | 0:03:19 | 0:03:22
but this can get a bit messy, so it's a good idea to do this outside. | 0:03:22 | 0:03:27
It's best if you put on an apron or some old clothes. | 0:03:27 | 0:03:30
We'll be back soon. Come on. | 0:03:30 | 0:03:33
Whoa! Yes, very nice. | 0:03:33 | 0:03:36
Also remember to put down some old paper or some newspaper. | 0:03:36 | 0:03:40
Frankie, this is what we're going to make. | 0:03:40 | 0:03:43
It's a super squirty paint picture. | 0:03:43 | 0:03:46
Use whatever colours of paint you like for this, | 0:03:46 | 0:03:49
but just remember to use paint form squeezy bottles, like this. | 0:03:49 | 0:03:54
-So we're all ready then. Are you ready, Frankie? -Yeah. -Great! | 0:03:54 | 0:03:59
Ready? Brilliant! Let's get making. | 0:03:59 | 0:04:02
We've got a nice, clean piece of paper here. | 0:04:02 | 0:04:05
All we need is some paint. Frankie, you can help me here. | 0:04:05 | 0:04:09
-Do you want to pick a colour? Which one shall we go for? -Blue. | 0:04:09 | 0:04:13
Brilliant! Now I'm going to flip up the lid. | 0:04:13 | 0:04:16
All I'm going to do is aim the paint at the paper and start squirting. | 0:04:16 | 0:04:21
Here we go. | 0:04:21 | 0:04:23
Ha-ha-ha! | 0:04:24 | 0:04:26
Look at that! That's great fun, isn't it? | 0:04:26 | 0:04:29
-Which colour do you think we should go for next? -Green. | 0:04:29 | 0:04:32
Great. Good choice. Don't worry if the paint squirts off the edges. | 0:04:32 | 0:04:37
That's why we put the old paper down first. One more. That's the pink. | 0:04:37 | 0:04:42
Here we go. | 0:04:42 | 0:04:44
This is great fun and your picture will look fantastic when it's dry. | 0:04:47 | 0:04:52
Frankie, what do you think of our picture? | 0:04:52 | 0:04:55
-It's very good. -Great! I think we should do another one, | 0:04:55 | 0:04:59
but this time with a really big piece of paper. | 0:04:59 | 0:05:02
We'll also need lots more colours of squirty paint. | 0:05:04 | 0:05:07
Because it's time for a big squirt. | 0:05:09 | 0:05:11
There's only room for one maker in this town. Ha-ha! | 0:05:15 | 0:05:19
Oh, yeah? | 0:05:21 | 0:05:22
Only kidding. The more the merrier. Three, two, one - squirt! | 0:05:25 | 0:05:32
Ho-ho-ho! | 0:05:37 | 0:05:38
I think we're finished. Have a look, Frankie. | 0:05:48 | 0:05:51
-What do you think? -Very good. | 0:05:51 | 0:05:54
Well done, Frankie. We made it. | 0:05:54 | 0:05:56
And now your home is where the art is. High five! | 0:05:56 | 0:06:00
Well done! What a brilliant squirty masterpiece. Bye, Frankie. | 0:06:00 | 0:06:05
Ha-ha-ha! Lovely! Hee-hee! | 0:06:07 | 0:06:09
It's brilliant being out and about in the Makermobile. | 0:06:09 | 0:06:13
There's always so much to see and do. | 0:06:13 | 0:06:16
GIGGLING | 0:06:16 | 0:06:18
What's that noise? | 0:06:18 | 0:06:20
SQUEAKING | 0:06:20 | 0:06:22
Guess who that is. | 0:06:22 | 0:06:24
# I am a shape | 0:06:31 | 0:06:33
# I am a shape | 0:06:36 | 0:06:38
# I am a circle | 0:06:41 | 0:06:43
# I am a triangle | 0:06:46 | 0:06:48
# I am a square | 0:06:50 | 0:06:53
# I am a rectangle | 0:06:56 | 0:06:58
# I am a shape | 0:07:05 | 0:07:07
# I am a shape | 0:07:10 | 0:07:11
# I am a shape | 0:07:15 | 0:07:16
# I am a shape | 0:07:19 | 0:07:21
# I am a circle. # | 0:07:28 | 0:07:30
What are the circles making today? | 0:07:32 | 0:07:35
Can you guess? | 0:07:38 | 0:07:40
Any ideas yet? | 0:07:43 | 0:07:45
It's a ladybird. | 0:07:49 | 0:07:52
Well done, Shapes. It's time to get back in the Doodle Drawers. | 0:07:52 | 0:07:56
HE CHUCKLES | 0:08:01 | 0:08:02
Oh, this is a lovely day for a drive out in the Makermobile, isn't it? | 0:08:07 | 0:08:11
Squawk! Make time! | 0:08:11 | 0:08:14
Hey, it's minute-make time! I'm on my way. | 0:08:14 | 0:08:18
I'm here. | 0:08:31 | 0:08:33
It's minute-make time. | 0:08:40 | 0:08:42
THEY CHEER | 0:08:42 | 0:08:44
I love being out and about, | 0:08:44 | 0:08:46
but the only problem is I have to hang out my washing | 0:08:46 | 0:08:50
wherever the Makermobile takes me. | 0:08:50 | 0:08:52
Here we go, I'll just put this there. Sorry about that. | 0:08:52 | 0:08:56
Just hang that up there. Oh! I tell you what, | 0:08:56 | 0:09:01
this has given me a great idea for a minute make. | 0:09:01 | 0:09:05
We're going to use this clothes peg to make a fantastic peg photo frame. | 0:09:05 | 0:09:10
Look at it! It's great, | 0:09:10 | 0:09:12
and very useful for holding on to your favourite photos. | 0:09:12 | 0:09:17
Now to make one of these, you will need... | 0:09:17 | 0:09:20
a glue stick, some scissors, of course the clothes peg, | 0:09:20 | 0:09:25
a pen, a ball of modelling clay and some coloured card. | 0:09:25 | 0:09:29
Do you think it's possible to make this peg photo frame | 0:09:29 | 0:09:33
in just one minute? | 0:09:33 | 0:09:35
ALL: No way! | 0:09:35 | 0:09:37
I think I can. I'll have to be quick, but don't worry, | 0:09:37 | 0:09:41
I'll remind you how to do it at the end. Ready? | 0:09:41 | 0:09:44
ALL: Yeah! | 0:09:44 | 0:09:45
Are you ready? Great! Let's make it in a minute. | 0:09:45 | 0:09:50
ALL: Three, two, one! | 0:09:50 | 0:09:53
Start the clock. | 0:09:53 | 0:09:54
Let's get some blue card and scissors. | 0:09:54 | 0:09:56
We're going to cut out a wiggly shape. | 0:09:56 | 0:09:59
This will be the water at the bottom of our island. | 0:09:59 | 0:10:03
Be careful with scissors, | 0:10:03 | 0:10:05
-because they are... -Sharp! -Right. | 0:10:05 | 0:10:08
There's our water. We get our modelling clay | 0:10:08 | 0:10:10
and we squidge that to make an island. | 0:10:10 | 0:10:13
Now we get our peg and push it upside down | 0:10:13 | 0:10:17
in to the clay. There we go. | 0:10:17 | 0:10:18
Let's get some green card and draw a leaf shape, | 0:10:18 | 0:10:22
like this. There we go, and then cut that out too. | 0:10:22 | 0:10:26
I'm going to go very quick here, | 0:10:26 | 0:10:28
but you can take your time when you've cut this out. | 0:10:28 | 0:10:32
Round there and up there. It's quite fiddly this, | 0:10:32 | 0:10:36
so you might want to ask an adult to help you. | 0:10:36 | 0:10:39
There we go. Let's go round there. If I clear that away, | 0:10:39 | 0:10:44
I've just got enough time to put on some glue onto there | 0:10:44 | 0:10:48
to complete my peg photo frame. | 0:10:48 | 0:10:52
-I did it! -CHEERING | 0:10:52 | 0:10:55
Phew! I made it. But if you've got more than a minute, | 0:10:56 | 0:11:00
you can add some pen details and little pompom coconuts. Fantastic! | 0:11:00 | 0:11:05
There are other ideas you can try too. | 0:11:05 | 0:11:08
What about this fantastic flower photo frame, | 0:11:08 | 0:11:11
with paper petals and leaves? | 0:11:11 | 0:11:14
Lovely to hold my picture of Granny Maker. | 0:11:14 | 0:11:17
Or even this peg city with two pegs and extra card buildings. | 0:11:17 | 0:11:22
Just right for this busy-looking businessman. | 0:11:22 | 0:11:25
Peg photo frames - why don't you make one? | 0:11:25 | 0:11:28
Here's a reminder of how to do it. | 0:11:28 | 0:11:31
Let's go back to the beginning and take another look. | 0:11:31 | 0:11:35
Cut out a wiggly water shape. Squash a ball of modelling clay on top, | 0:11:35 | 0:11:39
and push in an upside down peg, like this. | 0:11:39 | 0:11:42
Draw a leaf shape and cut it out. | 0:11:42 | 0:11:46
Stick the leaf shape to the front of the peg | 0:11:46 | 0:11:49
and your peg photo frame is finished. | 0:11:49 | 0:11:51
Why don't you try and make on in a minute? I've got to go, everyone. | 0:11:51 | 0:11:56
-Bye! -ALL: Bye! | 0:11:56 | 0:11:58
I wonder where we're off to next? | 0:12:03 | 0:12:07
-Hello, Mister Maker. -Oh, nice to see you. | 0:12:07 | 0:12:11
-Look what we're making today. -What are they going to make? | 0:12:11 | 0:12:16
I am black. | 0:12:19 | 0:12:22
I'm dark blue. | 0:12:24 | 0:12:25
I am peach. | 0:12:38 | 0:12:39
I'm yellow. | 0:12:50 | 0:12:51
I'm light blue. | 0:12:53 | 0:12:55
-It's an egg in an egg cup. -Well done, everyone. | 0:13:05 | 0:13:09
See you soon. Now watch this. | 0:13:09 | 0:13:12
Shhh! It's time for... a big surprise! Ha-ha-ha! | 0:13:13 | 0:13:19
I'm about to surprise these Mini Makers, who are not expecting me. | 0:13:19 | 0:13:24
-Hello! -THEY LAUGH | 0:13:24 | 0:13:27
ALL: Mister Maker! | 0:13:29 | 0:13:31
Great to meet you. Do you like aeroplanes? | 0:13:31 | 0:13:34
Yes. Good, because... Oh! Ha-ha-ha! | 0:13:34 | 0:13:40
Mini Makers, this is your captain speaking. | 0:13:40 | 0:13:43
I've got a big idea. I think we should make a big plane. | 0:13:43 | 0:13:48
-Will you help me? -Yes! -Fantastic! | 0:13:48 | 0:13:51
All right then, Freya, Finlay, Sam, Abbie and James, | 0:13:51 | 0:13:55
let's make it. | 0:13:55 | 0:13:56
Everybody, we're going to make a big plane. | 0:13:56 | 0:14:00
-What does an aeroplane have on it? -A propeller. -Wings. -Steering wheel. | 0:14:00 | 0:14:05
-What can we make these things out of? -Cardboard. | 0:14:05 | 0:14:09
-What can we make the steering wheel out of? -A paper plate. | 0:14:09 | 0:14:13
Would it make a good steering wheel? Have a go. | 0:14:13 | 0:14:16
I think we're ready to make our plane, aren't we? | 0:14:16 | 0:14:20
Yes! | 0:14:20 | 0:14:22 | |
Come on then, let's make it. | 0:14:22 | 0:14:24
I am painting the propeller. | 0:14:27 | 0:14:30
-Hello, Finlay. What are we making here? -The wheel. | 0:14:31 | 0:14:35
-The wheel. -Great! Put plenty of glue on then. | 0:14:35 | 0:14:39
Shall we stick it on then? | 0:14:39 | 0:14:41
That's it, press it down. | 0:14:41 | 0:14:44
Let's paint the plane's body blue and red. | 0:14:44 | 0:14:49
-So, everyone, have you painted the plane? -Yeah. | 0:14:49 | 0:14:52
You certainly have, it looks great. Well done. | 0:14:52 | 0:14:56
And now for some fluffy clouds. | 0:14:56 | 0:15:00
THEY GIGGLE | 0:15:02 | 0:15:05
Well done. We're really enjoying making our big plane, | 0:15:05 | 0:15:09
so why don't you try to make a small one. | 0:15:09 | 0:15:12
Try making an amazing, brightly-coloured aeroplane. | 0:15:13 | 0:15:17
Make it, play with it, have fun with it. | 0:15:17 | 0:15:20
To make one you'll need - a piece of cardboard, | 0:15:20 | 0:15:23
coloured paper and tissue paper, a pen, a small lid, | 0:15:23 | 0:15:28
a pencil, scissors, a clean plastic bottle, a cotton reel, | 0:15:28 | 0:15:35
glue, paint and paintbrushes, lolly sticks, and string. | 0:15:35 | 0:15:41
For the plane's wings, draw two big sausage shapes, | 0:15:41 | 0:15:46
and half a sausage shape onto the cardboard. | 0:15:46 | 0:15:49
Next, draw a circle onto the paper by drawing around the plastic lid, | 0:15:51 | 0:15:57
and carefully cut all the shapes out. | 0:15:57 | 0:16:00
Now, cut one of the cardboard sausages in half, | 0:16:02 | 0:16:06
and tape both of the pieces onto the bottle, like this. | 0:16:06 | 0:16:12
Then tape the other big cardboard sausage to the bottom of the bottle, | 0:16:12 | 0:16:17
and stick half a cardboard sausage on top. | 0:16:17 | 0:16:20
Turn over the bottle and tape a cotton reel to the other side | 0:16:22 | 0:16:26
for the wheels. | 0:16:26 | 0:16:28
Cover everything in gloopy glue, | 0:16:30 | 0:16:33
and stick on torn up tissue paper pieces to decorate your plane. | 0:16:33 | 0:16:39
Then leave it to dry. | 0:16:39 | 0:16:42
Next, stick the paper circle to the top of the plane for the cockpit. | 0:16:42 | 0:16:47
And add some details with different coloured paint. | 0:16:49 | 0:16:53
Then take two lolly sticks. Paint them, | 0:16:56 | 0:17:00
and then glue them together to make a cross. | 0:17:00 | 0:17:04
Now stick this to the front of the plane for the propeller. | 0:17:04 | 0:17:08
Last of all, tape a piece of string on top of the plane, | 0:17:12 | 0:17:16
so you can hang it up and play with it. | 0:17:16 | 0:17:19
What a perfect little plane. | 0:17:21 | 0:17:24
But I wonder how our big plane is coming along? | 0:17:24 | 0:17:27
There's a propeller. And who's that? | 0:17:27 | 0:17:30
Hello, Finlay. Let's put the propeller on then. | 0:17:30 | 0:17:34
Oh, round and round and... | 0:17:34 | 0:17:37
Now for a blue sky. | 0:17:37 | 0:17:40
HE SQUAWKS | 0:17:50 | 0:17:52
Hello, I'm a bird. Wa-ha! | 0:17:52 | 0:17:55
