Hello there! Nice to see you. | 0:00:50 | 0:00:52
I'm out and about in my marvellous Makermobile! | 0:00:52 | 0:00:56
The great thing about the Makermobile | 0:00:56 | 0:00:58
is that it can go anywhere! | 0:00:58 | 0:01:00
Tocky here! | 0:01:00 | 0:01:03
Mini-Maker message! | 0:01:03 | 0:01:05
Hello, I'm Sinead. | 0:01:05 | 0:01:07
Hello, Sinead! Can I help you today? | 0:01:07 | 0:01:09
Yes, please, Mister Maker. | 0:01:09 | 0:01:11
-I'm on my way! -GEARS CRUNCH | 0:01:11 | 0:01:13
HORN HONKS | 0:01:13 | 0:01:16
-I'm here! -HE CHUCKLES | 0:01:29 | 0:01:31
Hello, Sinead! Put it there. | 0:01:35 | 0:01:37
Now, how can I help you today? | 0:01:37 | 0:01:40
Can you help me paint a picture in a fun way? | 0:01:40 | 0:01:44
A picture in a fun way, eh? | 0:01:44 | 0:01:47
Well, let's have a think. | 0:01:47 | 0:01:49
Marbles! | 0:02:01 | 0:02:03
Ha-ha! They've just given me a great idea! | 0:02:03 | 0:02:07
Let's try something! | 0:02:07 | 0:02:09
'If you want to have fantastic fun, | 0:02:09 | 0:02:12
'try painting with a marble or a ball. | 0:02:12 | 0:02:15
'It's great to do and looks brilliant.' | 0:02:15 | 0:02:18
BOTH: Let's make it! | 0:02:18 | 0:02:20
-First, we need somewhere to make it! -CLICKS FINGERS | 0:02:20 | 0:02:25
HE LAUGHS | 0:02:25 | 0:02:26
And as well as a marble, | 0:02:26 | 0:02:28
we'll need some other things from the Doodle Drawers! | 0:02:28 | 0:02:32
Hold on to that, Sinead! I'll be back very soon! | 0:02:32 | 0:02:36
Some squirty paint... | 0:02:38 | 0:02:41
Ah, now we also need an old tray, | 0:02:43 | 0:02:47
so let's ask Scrappz for some help! | 0:02:47 | 0:02:50
Hm-hmm! | 0:02:50 | 0:02:52
Scrappz! Oh, a carrot. Thank you, I'll have that for my tea later. | 0:02:52 | 0:02:57
What I actually need is an old tray. Can you help? | 0:02:57 | 0:03:01
SCRAPPZ SQUEAKS | 0:03:01 | 0:03:03
Thank you! | 0:03:03 | 0:03:05
CRASHING AND BANGING | 0:03:05 | 0:03:08
Well done! Brilliant! Thank you, Scrappz. | 0:03:08 | 0:03:11
SCRAPPZ SQUEAKS HAPPILY | 0:03:11 | 0:03:14
And we also need a piece of paper. | 0:03:17 | 0:03:20
So, Sinead, let's have some fun | 0:03:22 | 0:03:24
and make a marble-ous marble painting like this one here! | 0:03:24 | 0:03:29
-It's marble-ous because we use a marble! -SHE LAUGHS | 0:03:29 | 0:03:32
-Are you ready? -Yeah. | 0:03:32 | 0:03:34
Are you ready? | 0:03:34 | 0:03:35
Brilliant! Let's get painting. | 0:03:35 | 0:03:37
But before we do, we need to put our paper down on an old tray | 0:03:37 | 0:03:41
or some cardboard, because this can get a little bit messy. | 0:03:41 | 0:03:45
OK, here we go... Great! You can use | 0:03:45 | 0:03:48
whatever coloured paint you like. | 0:03:48 | 0:03:50
-What colour would you like to use? -Pink, yellow, blue and purple. | 0:03:50 | 0:03:55
Excellent choices. OK, here we go, let's line them up. | 0:03:55 | 0:04:00
Now, let's get squirting! | 0:04:00 | 0:04:02
First, the purple. You can squirt your lines anywhere you like. | 0:04:02 | 0:04:06
We're going to do them across the page, like this. | 0:04:06 | 0:04:10
The blue! | 0:04:10 | 0:04:12
Pink! | 0:04:14 | 0:04:15 | |
And last but not least, Sinead... | 0:04:15 | 0:04:18
Yellow! Now go back to your first colour | 0:04:18 | 0:04:22
and do the same again, until you've completely covered your paper | 0:04:22 | 0:04:26
in squirty lines of paint! | 0:04:26 | 0:04:28
Now for the fun part. | 0:04:30 | 0:04:31
Get ready to drop the marble! Ooh! | 0:04:31 | 0:04:34
-Drum roll, please! -DRUM ROLL | 0:04:34 | 0:04:37
Three, two, one, | 0:04:37 | 0:04:39
drop! Brilliant! Get ready to roll! | 0:04:39 | 0:04:42
We're going to roll the marble up and down, | 0:04:42 | 0:04:46
like this, or around and around, | 0:04:46 | 0:04:48
so it squidges through the paint | 0:04:48 | 0:04:50
and makes a lovely pattern, like this. And back down again... | 0:04:50 | 0:04:54
-Fantastic! Are you happy with your painting, Sinead? -Yeah! | 0:04:54 | 0:04:59
Great! We'll leave it to dry, then. | 0:04:59 | 0:05:01
That was fun, but I think we can have even more fun, don't you? | 0:05:02 | 0:05:06
-Yeah! -Great! | 0:05:06 | 0:05:08
Let's make a big painting together! | 0:05:08 | 0:05:11
Now this can get a bit messy, | 0:05:11 | 0:05:13
so it's a good idea to put on an apron or some old clothes. | 0:05:13 | 0:05:17
Follow me! | 0:05:17 | 0:05:18
Woo! There we go! Very nice. | 0:05:18 | 0:05:21
First, we need to put down a big tray on top of some old paper. | 0:05:21 | 0:05:25
Then we need a nice big piece of new paper. Then, we need | 0:05:25 | 0:05:29
lots of squirty paint. And we need something | 0:05:29 | 0:05:32
big and round to roll, like... | 0:05:32 | 0:05:35
a football! Fantastic! | 0:05:35 | 0:05:37
OK, Sinead! Let's squirt away! | 0:05:37 | 0:05:40
Sinead, can you pass me some purple paint? | 0:05:40 | 0:05:43
That's it, lovely! | 0:05:43 | 0:05:45
Orange, please! | 0:05:50 | 0:05:52
Brilliant! | 0:05:53 | 0:05:55
Now, we're going to drop the football in... | 0:05:55 | 0:05:59
Let's get down and get ready to roll! | 0:05:59 | 0:06:04
Three, two, one, roll! | 0:06:04 | 0:06:07
Come on! Come on! | 0:06:10 | 0:06:12
Uh-oh! Here it comes! | 0:06:13 | 0:06:16
Well done, Sinead! Ha-ha! Right, now, | 0:06:17 | 0:06:20
I'm going to take this painty football and put it over here. | 0:06:20 | 0:06:24
Sinead, join me over here. | 0:06:24 | 0:06:26
-That's pretty good! What do you think? -Brilliant! | 0:06:26 | 0:06:29
We made it! And now, Sinead, | 0:06:29 | 0:06:31
your home is where the art is! What a brilliant marble picture. | 0:06:31 | 0:06:36
Well done, Sinead! Bye! | 0:06:36 | 0:06:38
HORN HONKS | 0:06:38 | 0:06:39
Ah! Ha-ha! Oh, I love being out and about in the Makermobile. | 0:06:39 | 0:06:44
The sun is shining, the birds are tweeting... | 0:06:44 | 0:06:47
Hey-eh! STRINGS TWANG | 0:06:47 | 0:06:50
Ooh, what's that noise? | 0:06:50 | 0:06:51
-LAUGHTER -Oh! | 0:06:51 | 0:06:54
I know who that is! | 0:06:54 | 0:06:56
ALL: Whoa! Hey! | 0:06:56 | 0:06:58
ALL: Ahhhh! | 0:06:58 | 0:07:01
# I am a shape | 0:07:03 | 0:07:05
# I am a shape | 0:07:07 | 0:07:09
# I am a circle | 0:07:13 | 0:07:15
# I am a triangle | 0:07:18 | 0:07:20
# I am a square | 0:07:22 | 0:07:24
# I am a rectangle | 0:07:27 | 0:07:30
# I am a shape | 0:07:37 | 0:07:39
# I am a shape | 0:07:41 | 0:07:45
# I am a shape | 0:07:46 | 0:07:48
# I am a shape | 0:07:51 | 0:07:53
# I am a rectangle. # | 0:07:59 | 0:08:02
How many rectangles can you see? | 0:08:04 | 0:08:06
One... | 0:08:06 | 0:08:08
two... | 0:08:08 | 0:08:10
three... | 0:08:10 | 0:08:12
four... | 0:08:12 | 0:08:14
five... | 0:08:14 | 0:08:15
six... | 0:08:15 | 0:08:17
seven! | 0:08:17 | 0:08:19
There are seven rectangles! | 0:08:19 | 0:08:23
Well done, Shapes! It's time to get back in the Doodle Drawers! | 0:08:23 | 0:08:27
THEY LAUGH AND SCREAM | 0:08:27 | 0:08:29
HE GIGGLES | 0:08:31 | 0:08:33
HORN HONKS | 0:08:33 | 0:08:35
Oh, this is a lovely day for a drive out in the Makermobile, isn't it? | 0:08:37 | 0:08:43
-Yeah! -Ooh! | 0:08:43 | 0:08:44
Minute-Make time! | 0:08:44 | 0:08:46
Hey, it's Minute-Make time! | 0:08:46 | 0:08:48
-I'm on my way! -GEARS CRUNCH | 0:08:48 | 0:08:51
Here we are! | 0:09:02 | 0:09:04
It's Minute-Make time, everyone! | 0:09:10 | 0:09:13
CHILDREN CHEER | 0:09:13 | 0:09:15
Today, we're going to make something... | 0:09:15 | 0:09:18
-GROWLING -Hey! Who's that? | 0:09:18 | 0:09:21
-Who is it? Who is it? -GROWLING | 0:09:21 | 0:09:23
Hey, look! | 0:09:23 | 0:09:24
It's Frank, my fun fur creature. | 0:09:24 | 0:09:27
Made in a minute. | 0:09:27 | 0:09:29
And to make one of these, you will need some sticky tape, | 0:09:29 | 0:09:33
a plastic pot or bowl, some fun fur, a glue stick, | 0:09:33 | 0:09:38
a paper plate, some cotton wool and we'll also need some googly eyes | 0:09:38 | 0:09:44
that you can get from an art and craft shop. | 0:09:44 | 0:09:47
I'll be back very soon. | 0:09:47 | 0:09:49
There, I've got them! | 0:09:54 | 0:09:57
Here are our googly eyes. | 0:09:57 | 0:10:01
Now, do you think it's possible to make this - | 0:10:01 | 0:10:04
one fur creature - in just one minute? | 0:10:04 | 0:10:07
ALL: No way! | 0:10:07 | 0:10:10
Oh! Well, I think I can. I'm going to have to be very quick | 0:10:10 | 0:10:14
but don't worry. I'll remind you how to do it at the end. | 0:10:14 | 0:10:18
-Are you ready? -ALL: Yeah! | 0:10:18 | 0:10:21
Are you ready? Great! Let's make it in a minute. | 0:10:21 | 0:10:25
ALL: Three, two, one... | 0:10:25 | 0:10:28
Start the clock! | 0:10:28 | 0:10:30
The first thing we're going to do is turn the plate over | 0:10:30 | 0:10:33
and put our bowl and cotton wool across the top | 0:10:33 | 0:10:37
and get a long bit of sticky tape and stick all that together. | 0:10:37 | 0:10:41
Now we're going to bring in our fun fur, like this | 0:10:41 | 0:10:45
and wrap the whole thing up a bit like a present. | 0:10:45 | 0:10:48
Let's put it all in there. | 0:10:48 | 0:10:50
We're going to need quite a lot of sticky tape, I think. | 0:10:50 | 0:10:53
It's fiddly and you might need an adult to help you. | 0:10:53 | 0:10:57
There we go and another bit, I think, across there, like that. | 0:10:57 | 0:11:01
Now, if we turn this over, we can make a little pinch there | 0:11:01 | 0:11:06
for a nose and if we glue on our googly eyes, one there | 0:11:06 | 0:11:11
and one there, I've just about got enough time | 0:11:11 | 0:11:16
to make a fun fur creature! | 0:11:16 | 0:11:19
I did it! | 0:11:19 | 0:11:20
ALL: Yeah! | 0:11:20 | 0:11:23
Phew! I made it and the great thing is, | 0:11:23 | 0:11:26
you can make all sorts of fun fur creatures. | 0:11:26 | 0:11:29
How about this one? | 0:11:29 | 0:11:30
It has black and white fur with card horns and eyelashes. | 0:11:30 | 0:11:36
You can even make this one, | 0:11:36 | 0:11:38
with pink fur, feathery eyes and card horns. | 0:11:38 | 0:11:41
Fun fur creatures, made in a minute. Why don't you have a go? | 0:11:41 | 0:11:46
Here's a reminder of how to do it. | 0:11:46 | 0:11:49
Let's go back to the beginning and take another look. | 0:11:49 | 0:11:53
Put a plastic pot onto a paper plate | 0:11:53 | 0:11:55
and stick the cotton wool on top with sticky tape. | 0:11:55 | 0:11:58
Wrap some fun fur over the pot and tape it into place. | 0:11:58 | 0:12:02
Make a nose shape and stick on the googly eyes | 0:12:02 | 0:12:06
and your fun fur creature is finished. | 0:12:06 | 0:12:09
Why don't you try and make it in a minute? Bye! | 0:12:09 | 0:12:13
ALL: Bye! | 0:12:13 | 0:12:14
Grrggghhhhh! | 0:12:14 | 0:12:16
Ooh! | 0:12:16 | 0:12:18 | |
I wonder where we're off to next. | 0:12:24 | 0:12:26
ALL: Hello, Mister Maker. | 0:12:26 | 0:12:29
Nice to see you. | 0:12:29 | 0:12:31
Can you guess what we're making today? | 0:12:31 | 0:12:33
What are they going to make? | 0:12:33 | 0:12:36
I'm green. | 0:12:41 | 0:12:43
I'm yellow. | 0:12:47 | 0:12:50
I am red. | 0:12:52 | 0:12:55
I'm light blue. | 0:13:06 | 0:13:08
I am orange. | 0:13:12 | 0:13:14
I'm dark blue. | 0:13:16 | 0:13:19
ALL: It's a drum. | 0:13:23 | 0:13:26
Well done, everyone. See you soon. | 0:13:26 | 0:13:28
Now watch this. | 0:13:28 | 0:13:30
Hello. Are you ready for a big surprise? | 0:13:31 | 0:13:37
Let's meet some more mini makers who have no idea I'm on my way. | 0:13:39 | 0:13:44
Hello. | 0:13:44 | 0:13:45
Hello. | 0:13:45 | 0:13:47
It's great to meet you. | 0:13:47 | 0:13:49
Now, I've heard that you all like dinosaurs, is that right? | 0:13:49 | 0:13:53
-Yes. -You do? Great. | 0:13:53 | 0:13:55
I think we should make a big dinosaur. Will you help me? | 0:13:55 | 0:13:59
Yes. | 0:13:59 | 0:14:00 | |
OK then, Jake, Dominic, Simandeep, Harrison and Tiana. | 0:14:00 | 0:14:05
Let's make it. Come on. | 0:14:05 | 0:14:07
OK then, everyone. What could our dinosaur look like? | 0:14:07 | 0:14:11
-Sharp teeth. -Sharp teeth! | 0:14:11 | 0:14:13
-Sharp claws. -Sharp claws. Grrr! It's a good idea. | 0:14:13 | 0:14:19
-What else can we think of? -Spiky. | 0:14:19 | 0:14:22
-Now where would the spikes be though? -On its back. | 0:14:22 | 0:14:25
On its back, well done! I think we're ready. Let's go. | 0:14:25 | 0:14:29
We've got six paint brushes, six painters, so let's get painting! | 0:14:29 | 0:14:34
Everyone grab a paintbrush and let's paint our dinosaur. | 0:14:34 | 0:14:39
Now, how big should our dinosaur be? | 0:14:39 | 0:14:42
-As big as a whale. -As big as a whale? Now, that's pretty big, isn't it? | 0:14:42 | 0:14:48
Paper plates painted yellow and red | 0:14:51 | 0:14:54
make great dinosaur spikes and toenails. | 0:14:54 | 0:14:57
-What sort of noises do dinosaurs make? -Rarrr! | 0:14:57 | 0:15:00
Dominic, I need a toenail. | 0:15:03 | 0:15:05
Well done. Right, put plenty of glue on the back there. That's it. | 0:15:05 | 0:15:09
And then finish off that foot. Perfect. | 0:15:09 | 0:15:13
Ha ha. Well done. High five. Good man. | 0:15:13 | 0:15:16
That's it. Keep going round. Keep going round! | 0:15:16 | 0:15:19
I'm getting dizzy! | 0:15:19 | 0:15:21
I'm going to put the bowl over there. | 0:15:21 | 0:15:24
Make sure the ball goes inside. | 0:15:24 | 0:15:26
Our dinosaur has got an eye. | 0:15:26 | 0:15:29
And now we need some dinosaur scales. | 0:15:29 | 0:15:31
Make our big dinosaur is great fun | 0:15:34 | 0:15:38
so why don't you have a go making a small one of your own? | 0:15:38 | 0:15:42
Try making an amazing brightly-coloured dinosaur. | 0:15:42 | 0:15:46
Make it, play with it, have fun with it. | 0:15:46 | 0:15:49
To make one you will need a card tube with the lid, | 0:15:49 | 0:15:53
two small boxes, some foil, some glue and a brush, | 0:15:53 | 0:15:58
tissues paper, a pen and some sticky dots. | 0:15:58 | 0:16:03
Take the lid off your tube | 0:16:04 | 0:16:07
and tape the boxes under it like this. | 0:16:07 | 0:16:12
Now squash some kitchen foil into a dinosaur head shape. | 0:16:13 | 0:16:17
Then tape it to the top of the lid. | 0:16:22 | 0:16:25
Take another piece of foil and squash this into a tail shape. | 0:16:28 | 0:16:33
And tape it to the end of the tube. | 0:16:37 | 0:16:41
Next, stick green tissue all over the body and head of the dinosaur | 0:16:43 | 0:16:48
with gloopy glue. If you haven't got green tissue, | 0:16:48 | 0:16:51
you could use white tissue and then paint it. | 0:16:51 | 0:16:55
When it's dry, put the head on the body. | 0:16:55 | 0:16:58
Next you can add some details. | 0:16:58 | 0:17:01
Tear another colour off the tissue paper into triangles and stick them | 0:17:01 | 0:17:06
along the top of the body to make spikes. | 0:17:06 | 0:17:09
Now give your dinosaur eyes. | 0:17:14 | 0:17:16
Just draw a black dot on some white stickers for pupils | 0:17:16 | 0:17:21
and stick them on. | 0:17:21 | 0:17:24
You can even add other coloured stickers for decoration. | 0:17:30 | 0:17:34
It's a mini-saurus. | 0:17:37 | 0:17:39
Grrr! | 0:17:39 | 0:17:41 | |
Fantastic! | 0:17:41 | 0:17:43
What a super way to make a small dinosaur | 0:17:45 | 0:17:48
but I wonder how our big dinosaur's coming along. | 0:17:48 | 0:17:52
OK, there you go, Dominic. Be careful because scissors are... | 0:17:52 | 0:17:56
Sharp! | 0:17:56 | 0:17:58
That's right. Get cutting. Well done. | 0:17:58 | 0:18:00
Now let's make a tropical jungle for our dinosaur to live in. | 0:18:03 | 0:18:08
We're almost finished. | 0:18:10 | 0:18:13
Brilliant. Well done, everyone! | 0:18:13 | 0:18:15
We made it! Yeah! | 0:18:15 | 0:18:19
Wow, that was realistic. | 0:18:26 | 0:18:29
What a great dinosaur. | 0:18:29 | 0:18:31
Mister Maker! Time to go. | 0:18:31 | 0:18:34
That's it for now. | 0:18:34 | 0:18:36
My making time's over but yours is just beginning. | 0:18:36 | 0:18:40
It's time to put the Makermobile back in its box. | 0:18:40 | 0:18:44
