Hello, David. Now, how can I help you today?

we will make. But what will we make it with?

Let's have a look in my pocket.

It's a piece from an old jigsaw puzzle.

That's no use, is it?

Or is it? Hmm!

A piece of an old jigsaw puzzle!

That's just given me a great idea.

Let's try something.

Try putting an old piece of jigsaw to good use,

and make a funny creature like this fantastic fish.

But first, we'll need somewhere to make it.

Whoo-hoo! Ha-ha-ha-ha!

We'll also need some things from the Doodle Drawers. I'll be back soon.

A sheet of coloured paper and some orange paint.

Hmm, we also need some coloured stickers,

and we'll need some help to find those.

I know! Let's ask Scraps.

HONK HONK Aw!

Scraps!

Ooh, Scraps, you're covered in spots.

-Are you not feeling very well?

-I'm all right.

Oh! They're the coloured stickers!

-You heard, well done!

-Uh-huh.

I'll just take a few. Come on.

-Ha-ha!

-Ha-ha-ha! That's it, perfect.

You'll also need...

a pen and a paintbrush...

..and a glue stick and some gloopy PVA glue.

David, this is what we're going to make today.

It's a fantastic fishy friend,

made from a piece of an old jigsaw puzzle.

-Ha, brilliant! Are you ready, David?

-Yeah.

Are you ready?

Brilliant. Let's get making.

we're going to make a very special mixture,

that's made up of half gloopy glue,

and half paint.

Use any colour you like,

but we're going to use orange cos we're making a goldfish.

We need to mix this painty mixture,

and David, you can help me with that.

Give that a bit of a stir with a paintbrush.

Our mixture is ready.

You can turn your jigsaw piece into whatever you like.

Our piece has got a hole to one side,

and a bobble bit on the top and bottom.

Now, let's paint our jigsaw piece in the special gloopy mixture,

and then leave it to dry.

Now, we've got a lovely piece of blue paper here because David,

-our fish is going to be swimming in...

-The sea.

The sea, that's right.

Can you put some glue on the back of the jigsaw for me?

Brilliant. Thank you very much, David.

Let's stick it down. Wonderful.

Now we can add some extra detail with a pen for the fish's fins.

Now stick on coloured stickers. If you haven't got any,

you can always draw on spots.

You can help me again here, David. Slide our fish over to you,

-And can you stick on some stickers?

-Yeah.

-Brilliant!

There's the first sticker.

Well done, David. Let's have a look at that.

Yes, our fish is nearly finished.

-But wait a minute, it's missing something. What can it be?

-Eyes.

I think you're right. Let's add eyes by adding some white stickers.

Also, use a black pen to put dots in the middle for pupils.

Our fantastic fish is finally finished.

Now, if you've got more time and more pieces of jigsaw puzzle...

Ooh! You can make another crazy creature.

Now, these pieces have already been covered

in the special gloopy, painty mixture.

So we can make whatever we like.

How about a marvellous monster with colourful spots? What do you think?

Let's put the pieces here, and start sticking on lots of coloured spots.

When you're happy, stick it all down.

Oh, this is a lovely day for a drive out in the maker-mobile, isn't it?

Minute-make time!

Hey, it's minute-make time! I'm on my way!

I'm here!

It's minute-make time, everyone!

ALL: Yay!

As I'm getting so good at these minute-makes,

I've decided to award myself this magnificent Maker medal!

Oh! Look at that, it's great, isn't it?

And it's even got the first letter of my name on the front.

Now, to make one of these, you will need...

some sticky tape, a piece of tinfoil, a glue stick,

an old lid, a foam letter, and a piece of ribbon.

Now, do you think it's possible

to make one of these in just one minute?

ALL: No way!

Oh, well, I think I can. Now, we're going to have to be very quick,

but don't worry, everyone,

I'll remind you how to do it at the end. Are you ready?

ALL: Yeah!

Great! Are you ready?

Brilliant! Let's make it in a minute.

Three, two, one...

Start the clock!

The first thing we do is get our lid and foam letter

and stick them together by putting on a lot of glue, like that.

Press the letter on top.

Now scrunch the tinfoil up carefully and open it up again.

This gives it an old-fashioned look.

Wrap it round the lid, like that.

Scrunch it into the back.

There we go. Then turn it over

and start carefully pushing down around the foam letter,

and the letter underneath starts to come through.

That's looking good.

There it is, it's looking good.

If I turn this over and get our ribbon,

I can stick it on the back with some sticky tape.

That's it. A bit there,

and a bit of sticky tape there as well.

That's Just about stuck. There, I made it!

-Another successful minute-make!

-ALL:

-Hooray!

If you've got more than a minute,

you can make as many Maker medals as you like. Ooh!

Ah, this one's got a number one on it,

and it's made with some very nice orange foil. Oh!

This one's got a star on it and some gold foil. Oh!

You could even make a smiley face medal, like this one.

Phew, I think that's enough, even for a brilliant artist like myself.

Ha-ha, Maker medals made in a minute. Why don't you have a go?

Here's a reminder of how to do it!

Let's go back to the beginning and take another look.

Glue a foam letter onto a plastic lid and crinkle some foil.

Then wrap it around the letter and lid.

Stick a ribbon onto the back with sticky tape.

And your Maker medal is finished.

This is our spider's body,

so let's cover it in fun fur, everyone. That's it!

I said cover the spider's body, not my head!

Come on, let's wrap the spider!

-Then sit down on it.

There we go.

-Is that a comfy spider?

Now, let's make the other parts of the spider.

We're making our spider's legs.

Spider's legs are furry.

I'm making spider's eyes.

Making our big spider is great fun,

so how about you try making a little one yourself?

Try making your own furry little spider.

Make it, play with it, have fun with it.

You'll need some pipe cleaners,

some glue, a brush, pom-poms,

and some googly eyes.

First, take four pipe cleaners and put them in a star shape.

Now, twist them together like this.

Add gloopy glue to the middle of the star shape.

And stick on your pom-pom body.

Turn your spider over.

And stick another pom-pom on the other side.

Bend the spider's legs like this.

And, last of all, glue on googly eyes.

Well done, you've made a funny furry spider!

What a super way to make a small spider,

but I wonder how our BIG spider's coming along?

Ha-ha, oh, yes, it looks great!

Now our spider needs somewhere to live.

Ha-ha!

I'm making the stepping stones.

Don't forget, our spider needs a web.
