TOOT-TOOT!

0:00:460:00:48

Hello! Fantastic to see you! I'm out driving in the Maker Mobile

0:00:490:00:53

and who knows what we'll see today!

0:00:530:00:56

Ooh! Tocky here! Mini Maker message!

0:00:560:01:00

-Hello, I'm Lily.

-Hello, Lily! Can I help you today?

0:01:000:01:04

-Yes, please, Mister Maker.

-I'll be right with you!

0:01:040:01:08

TOOT-TOOT!

0:01:080:01:11

I'm here! Ha-ha!

0:01:240:01:26

Hello, Lily, put it there! Now, how can I help you today?

0:01:300:01:33

Show me how to make a picture with me in it.

0:01:330:01:36

A picture with you in it! Good idea! Hmm, let's have a think!

0:01:360:01:42

Ah! I could paint a picture of you.

0:01:430:01:47

Hmm...or I could...

0:01:520:01:55

Hmm! Aha! ..take a photo of you to use in a picture.

0:01:550:02:01

CROWD CHEERS AND APPLAUDS

0:02:030:02:05

But what would be really good

0:02:080:02:10

is if we could make something with you actually in it!

0:02:100:02:14

Hmm! I've just had a great idea!

0:02:140:02:17

Let's try something!

0:02:190:02:21

Try making this fantastic pirate face mask

0:02:210:02:25

and put yourself in the picture.

0:02:250:02:27

Let's make it! But first, we need somewhere to make it.

0:02:270:02:31

Ha-ha! And we'll also need some things

0:02:320:02:35

from the Doodle Drawers! I'll be back soon!

0:02:350:02:38

A plate, a pencil and a ball of modelling clay!

0:02:430:02:47

A large piece of card, some torn strips of paper and a glue stick!

0:02:520:02:57

We also need an oval-shaped lid from an ice-cream tub.

0:03:010:03:05

Perhaps Scraps can help!

0:03:050:03:08

TOOT-TOOT!

0:03:080:03:10

SCRAPS SQUEAKS

0:03:100:03:12

Hello! We need an ice-cream lid. Can you help?

0:03:120:03:16

-Mm-hm!

-Great!

0:03:160:03:18

-Aha!

-MUNCH! MUNCH!

0:03:180:03:20

SCRAPS BURPS

0:03:200:03:22

-Well done, Scraps, that's great! Just what we need!

-Mm-hm!

0:03:220:03:26

-Ooh, actually, Scraps, is there any ice cream left?

-No! Burp!

0:03:260:03:31

Well, excuse you! Oh!

0:03:310:03:34

And we also need some patterned wrapping paper.

0:03:390:03:43

So, Lily, today, we're going to make

0:03:440:03:47

a pirate face mask that really puts you in the picture!

0:03:470:03:50

Ahoy there, me hearties! Ah-ha-ha-ha!

0:03:500:03:53

-Right! So, Lily, are you ready?

-Yes!

-Great!

0:03:530:03:57

Are you ready?

0:03:570:03:58

Brilliant! Let's get making!

0:03:580:04:00

The first thing we're going to do is bring in our large piece of card

0:04:000:04:05

and an oval-shaped ice-cream lid.

0:04:050:04:08

Now, don't worry if you haven't got one of these lids.

0:04:080:04:12

You can use something else that's oval-shaped, like a plate or a bowl.

0:04:120:04:16

Next, we need to draw round it then cut this shape out.

0:04:160:04:20

You may want to ask an adult to help with this, cos it's a bit tricky.

0:04:200:04:25

We need a ball of modelling clay. We'll put this underneath the card.

0:04:250:04:30

And we need a sharp pencil and we're going to push,

0:04:320:04:36

with the sharp pencil, through the card into the clay.

0:04:360:04:40

And we do this very carefully

0:04:400:04:42

and then, if we take the pencil out and take the clay away,

0:04:420:04:47

we have a hole. We can use this hole to help us cut out our face shape!

0:04:470:04:52

-But we need to be careful, because scissors are...

-Sharp!

0:04:520:04:56

Move the card to one side for a moment

0:05:010:05:03

and we're going to bring in some patterned wrapping paper.

0:05:030:05:07

This is going to make the pirate's head scarf! Ha-ha! That looks good!

0:05:070:05:12

We're going to turn this over and, with a paper plate,

0:05:120:05:16

we're going to draw all round this with a pencil to make a circle.

0:05:160:05:21

Now, at the side of this circle,

0:05:220:05:25

draw a fish tail shape and then, carefully, cut it all out.

0:05:250:05:31

Then turn it back over,

0:05:330:05:36

cut across the circle shape,

0:05:360:05:38

just below the fish tail here, to make

0:05:380:05:41

a pirate head scarf and shoulders.

0:05:410:05:44

Now, we'll put these to one side and bring back our card from earlier.

0:05:440:05:49

Let's get a handful of torn paper strips.

0:05:490:05:53

Here they are! We're going to scrunch these up!

0:05:530:05:57

That's it! Do a bit of scrunching, like that.

0:05:570:06:00

Give them a squeeze, like that. Can you help? Scrunch away!

0:06:000:06:04

Good scrunching!

0:06:040:06:07

That's it. Put it on the pile.

0:06:090:06:12

Well done!

0:06:120:06:14

Now we need to stick the pirate hair on both sides of the face hole!

0:06:140:06:18

So you can help me with this, Lily!

0:06:180:06:22

Can you put some glue about there for me, please?

0:06:220:06:25

That's it! Well done! Then glue on the rest of the hair!

0:06:250:06:29

Now we can bring back in our pirate's head scarf and shoulders!

0:06:310:06:35

I'm going to give these to you to glue for me! Thank you very much!

0:06:350:06:40

That's it. Perfect! And now, we can glue them in place!

0:06:410:06:45

And we're all done! It looks fantastic!

0:06:500:06:53

But I think there's something, or rather someone,

0:06:530:06:57

missing in the middle here!

0:06:570:06:59

-Who could that be?

-Me.

0:06:590:07:02

You! That's right! Go on, then, put yourself in the picture!

0:07:020:07:06

Ooh-arr, me hearties!

0:07:070:07:09

Very good, Lily! And if you really enjoyed that,

0:07:090:07:13

there are lots of other ideas you could try too! How about...

0:07:130:07:17

this clown? With folded paper hair, a paper hat and pom-pom flowers!

0:07:170:07:23

-Or how about a cowgirl?

-Yee-ha!

0:07:230:07:26

With curly-brown paper hair and a paper hat!

0:07:260:07:30

Or you could even try this queen

0:07:300:07:32

with curly golden hair and a pink crown!

0:07:320:07:36

FANFARE PLAYS

0:07:360:07:37

-What do you think?

-They're great, Mister Maker!

0:07:370:07:41

Well, I think you're great! Well done! We made it!

0:07:410:07:44

Now your home is where the art is!

0:07:440:07:47

What a fantastic pirate face mask!

0:07:470:07:50

Well done, Lily! Bye!

0:07:500:07:53

-HE SIGHS

-Ha-ha! Lovely! Hee-hee!

0:07:530:07:56

It's brilliant being out and about in the Maker Mobile!

0:07:560:08:00

-There's so much to see and do.

-GIGGLING IN THE DRAWERS

0:08:000:08:04

What's that noise?

0:08:040:08:07

Ho-ho! I know who that is!

0:08:070:08:10

THEY CHEER

0:08:120:08:15

ALL: I am a shape!

0:08:170:08:20

I am a shape!

0:08:220:08:25

I am a circle.

0:08:270:08:29

I am a triangle.

0:08:320:08:34

I am a square!

0:08:360:08:38

I am a rectangle!

0:08:410:08:44

I am a shape!

0:08:510:08:52

I am a shape!

0:08:560:08:57

I am a shape!

0:09:000:09:02

I am a shape!

0:09:050:09:07

I am a triangle!

0:09:140:09:16

How many triangles can you see?

0:09:180:09:21

One...

0:09:210:09:23

two...

0:09:230:09:25

three...

0:09:250:09:27

four...

0:09:270:09:29

five...

0:09:290:09:31

six!

0:09:310:09:33

There are six triangles.

0:09:330:09:37

Well done, Shapes!

0:09:370:09:39

It's time to get back in the Doodle Drawers.

0:09:390:09:42

TOOT-TOOT!

0:09:470:09:49

I'm out in the fresh air, having a drive in the Maker mobile.

0:09:510:09:55

-There's nowhere else I'd rather be.

-Wah!

0:09:550:09:58

Minute-make time!

0:09:580:10:00

Hey, it's minute-make time! I'm on my way!

0:10:000:10:04

I've arrived!

0:10:160:10:18

It's minute-make time!

0:10:230:10:25

ALL: YAY!

0:10:250:10:26

And here's what we're going to make today - a jazzy jar!

0:10:260:10:31

It's beautiful! Now, to make one of these you will need...

0:10:310:10:36

an old pot or jar with a lid like this one here, some coloured beads,

0:10:360:10:41

some gloopy PVA glue, an old washing-up sponge,

0:10:410:10:45

and it's also a good idea to do this with an old tray underneath,

0:10:450:10:50

as it can get a little bit messy.

0:10:500:10:53

Now, do you think it's possible to make this jazzy jar

0:10:530:10:58

in just one minute?

0:10:580:10:59

ALL: No way!

0:10:590:11:01

I think I can. I'm going to have to be very quick, but don't worry.

0:11:010:11:06

I'll remind you how to do it at the end. Are you ready?

0:11:060:11:10

ALL: YEAH!

0:11:100:11:12

Are you ready?

0:11:120:11:14

Great! Let's make it in a minute!

0:11:140:11:16

Three, two, one...

0:11:160:11:18

Start the clock!

0:11:180:11:20

First get our sponge and put on some gloopy glue

0:11:200:11:24

round the side of our jar.

0:11:240:11:26

Put it all the way around the side but not on this top edge,

0:11:260:11:30

because that's where the lid goes.

0:11:300:11:33

Now start putting on our beads.

0:11:330:11:36

We sprinkle them on top,

0:11:360:11:38

you can use whatever colour beads you like.

0:11:380:11:42

Don't worry if they fall over the tray like this,

0:11:420:11:46

cos we can use them later.

0:11:460:11:48

Let's put some green on.

0:11:480:11:50

Here we go around with the green.

0:11:500:11:53

Then some blue as well.

0:11:530:11:55

Whoa, sprinkly! Here we go!

0:11:550:11:57

Like that, there we go. Put that there.

0:11:570:12:00

Now I need to cover our lid with glue as well.

0:12:000:12:04

All round there, and some round the side.

0:12:040:12:08

That's it. And then sprinkle a few more on to the lid.

0:12:080:12:12

Some blue, and a few of those.

0:12:150:12:17

If I put that on top of there, we've got a jazzy jar!

0:12:170:12:21

If you've got more than a minute you can make all sorts of jazzy jars.

0:12:210:12:26

You could try this stripy multicoloured jar.

0:12:260:12:30

Or why not add some bigger beads to make a flowery pattern.

0:12:300:12:34

Jazzy jars, made in a minute!

0:12:340:12:37

Why don't you have a go? Here's a reminder of how to do it.

0:12:370:12:41

Let's go back to the beginning and take another look.

0:12:410:12:45

Cover a plastic jar with gloopy glue, pour the beads onto the glue,

0:12:450:12:50

and stick more glue and beads to the lid.

0:12:500:12:53

Then leave it to dry and your jazzy jar is finished.

0:12:530:12:58

Why don't you try and make it in a minute? Bye!

0:12:580:13:01

ALL: BYE!

0:13:010:13:04

TOOT-TOOT!

0:13:050:13:07

Oh, this is fun. Where should we go to next?

0:13:080:13:11

Hello, Mister Maker!

0:13:110:13:15

Oh, hello! Nice to see you.

0:13:150:13:17

What do you think we're making today?

0:13:170:13:20

I'm not sure. Let's take a look.

0:13:200:13:22

I am brown.

0:13:250:13:27

I'm yellow.

0:13:330:13:35

I am orange.

0:13:400:13:42

I am grey.

0:13:470:13:49

I am black.

0:14:070:14:08

It's an owl!

0:14:100:14:12

Well done, everyone. See you soon. Now watch this.

0:14:120:14:15

TOOT-TOOT!

0:14:150:14:17

(Hello, are you ready...)

0:14:170:14:19

FOR A BIG SURPRISE?!

0:14:190:14:23

These mini makers have no idea what's going to happen next.

0:14:240:14:28

Hello!

0:14:280:14:30

-Hello!

-Hello!

0:14:300:14:33

It's great to meet you! Do you know what? I've got a big idea.

0:14:330:14:38

Oh! Roll up, roll up!

0:14:390:14:42

I need your help, mini makers, I think we should make a massive,

0:14:420:14:46

magnificent market stall! Will you help me?

0:14:460:14:50

Yes!

0:14:500:14:52

Great! Ha-ha-ha!

0:14:520:14:54

All right, Alex, Aliah, Ben, Charlotte and Vasan,

0:14:540:14:58

let's make it!

0:14:580:15:00

Now, everybody, we're going to make our market stall.

0:15:000:15:04

-Have you ever been to a market?

-Yes!

0:15:040:15:07

-What did you see at the market?

-Vegetables. I mean fruits!

0:15:070:15:12

-Vegetables and fruits?

-Yeah.

0:15:120:15:14

We could put them on our market stall. What else?

0:15:140:15:18

-Green apples, cos there's green paint.

-That's a brilliant idea!

0:15:180:15:23

-OK, I think we're ready to make our market stall, aren't we?

-Yes!

0:15:230:15:28

Let's make it! Come on!

0:15:280:15:30

Let's paint the roof of our market stall. Come on, everyone.

0:15:300:15:35

These are going to be nice stripes.

0:15:350:15:38

We're going to paint this ball orange. Let's get painting.

0:15:400:15:44

Gloopy, isn't it?

0:15:440:15:46

That's it. Hee-hee!

0:15:460:15:48

Hello, do you need some help?

0:15:480:15:51

Great, you're doing a good job. Very nice.

0:15:510:15:55

We're making cauliflower.

0:15:550:15:57

It's great fun making our big market stall.

0:16:010:16:04

How about making something small to sell at a market?

0:16:040:16:08

Try making this brightly coloured pineapple.

0:16:100:16:14

Make it, play with it, have fun with it!

0:16:140:16:17

To make one you'll need some foil, an old mug, gloopy PVA glue,

0:16:170:16:21

paint brushes and paint, coloured tissue paper,

0:16:210:16:25

a pencil and a black pen.

0:16:250:16:27

Start by scrunching up the foil into a big egg-shape.

0:16:270:16:32

Next, put your foil egg into a cup

0:16:410:16:43

and then cover it with a layer of glue.

0:16:430:16:46

Stick on pieces of tissue paper.

0:16:520:16:55

And leave it to dry.

0:16:580:17:00

Cut up big tissue paper strips.

0:17:030:17:06

And arrange them like this.

0:17:070:17:10

Push the tissue strips into the pineapple with a pencil.

0:17:120:17:17

Now paint on some shapes.

0:17:180:17:20

These look like the letter V.

0:17:210:17:24

You can even add some detail with a black pen,

0:17:280:17:32

and your pretend pineapple is finished.

0:17:320:17:36

Why not make some other fruit,

0:17:360:17:38

like an apple, an orange, or even a strawberry.

0:17:380:17:43

Pretend fruit is great to play with.

0:17:430:17:46

You can even put it on your own market stall.

0:17:460:17:49

What a fun way to make fruit! And they're really tasty.

0:17:510:17:55

-HIS TUMMY RUMBLES

-Oh! Ah-ha!

0:17:550:17:58

Sorry about that, must be hungry. How are we getting on, mini makers?

0:17:580:18:03

Careful!

0:18:030:18:04

That's it, back this way.

0:18:040:18:07

Look at all this! Well done, everybody!

0:18:110:18:15

ALL: We made it, yay!

0:18:150:18:19

Roll up, roll up to our brilliant market stalls.

0:18:240:18:28

Mister Maker, time to go!

0:18:310:18:34

Oh, that's it for now, my making time's over,

0:18:340:18:37

but yours is just beginning.

0:18:370:18:39

It's time to put the Maker mobile back in its box.

0:18:390:18:43

# Ooh, la-la-la-la, Mister Maker!

0:18:460:18:48

# Ooh, la-la-la-la M-m-m-make it, Mister Maker! #
