Hello there! Nice to see you. | 0:00:51 | 0:00:53
I'm out and about in my Maker Mobile. | 0:00:53 | 0:00:56
The great thing about the Maker Mobile is it can go anywhere. | 0:00:56 | 0:01:01
Woo! Tocky here. | 0:01:01 | 0:01:03
Mini Maker Message! | 0:01:03 | 0:01:05
Hello. I'm Danny. | 0:01:05 | 0:01:07
Hello, Danny. Can I help you today? | 0:01:07 | 0:01:09
Yes, please, Mister Maker. | 0:01:09 | 0:01:11
I'll be right with you. | 0:01:11 | 0:01:13
Here we are! | 0:01:29 | 0:01:31
Hello, Danny. So, how can I help you today? | 0:01:35 | 0:01:38
Will you show me how to make something really colourful. | 0:01:38 | 0:01:42
Something really colourful. That sounds a bit like - | 0:01:42 | 0:01:46
A rainbow. | 0:01:48 | 0:01:50
But do you know what? I think we need more colours than that. | 0:01:50 | 0:01:55
I've just had a great idea. | 0:01:55 | 0:01:57
Let's try something. | 0:01:59 | 0:02:01
Try making a colourful super stripey picture. | 0:02:01 | 0:02:04
It's super and stripey! | 0:02:04 | 0:02:06
BOTH: Let's make it! | 0:02:07 | 0:02:09
But first we'll need somewhere to make it. | 0:02:09 | 0:02:13
Ooh! Ha-ha! | 0:02:15 | 0:02:16
And we'll need things from the Doodle Drawers. | 0:02:16 | 0:02:19
Wait here, I'll be back soon. | 0:02:19 | 0:02:21
A big piece of plain paper. | 0:02:26 | 0:02:28
Now, we also need some old scraps of coloured paper. | 0:02:34 | 0:02:37
When looking for scraps, who better to find them than Scraps. | 0:02:37 | 0:02:41
HORN | 0:02:41 | 0:02:43 | |
-Eh? -Ah, Scraps, there you are. | 0:02:44 | 0:02:47
Now, we need some scraps of coloured paper. | 0:02:47 | 0:02:51
-Can you help us? -Mm-hm. -Brilliant! | 0:02:51 | 0:02:54
Now, this may take Scraps quite a while. | 0:02:54 | 0:02:57
He's got to search through all the Doodle Drawers to find... | 0:02:57 | 0:03:02
Well, that was quick! | 0:03:02 | 0:03:04
Well, you are the scraps expert I suppose. | 0:03:04 | 0:03:07
-Mmmm-hm! -Thank you. | 0:03:07 | 0:03:10
Brilliant! | 0:03:11 | 0:03:13
And we also need a glue stick. | 0:03:17 | 0:03:19
Right Danny, let's have some fun and make a super stripey picture | 0:03:21 | 0:03:25
like this one here. | 0:03:25 | 0:03:27
It looks fantastic! | 0:03:27 | 0:03:30
-Are you ready? -Yes. -Good! | 0:03:30 | 0:03:33
Are you ready? Great! | 0:03:33 | 0:03:35
Let's get making. | 0:03:35 | 0:03:36
We're going to bring in our sheets and scraps of coloured paper | 0:03:36 | 0:03:42
and we'll cut them into long strips. | 0:03:42 | 0:03:44
You can cut them straight from the paper | 0:03:44 | 0:03:47
or you can draw a straight line using a ruler and pencil | 0:03:47 | 0:03:52
and cut along that. | 0:03:52 | 0:03:54
So, we're going to get cutting then, Danny, | 0:03:54 | 0:03:57
-but we need to be careful because scissors are... -Sharp! | 0:03:57 | 0:04:01
He's done this before. | 0:04:01 | 0:04:03
You cut that one out, Danny and I'll make some other strips. | 0:04:03 | 0:04:07
Carefully cut thick and thin strips out of lots of different colours. | 0:04:08 | 0:04:14
Now we can start sticking our strips down. | 0:04:15 | 0:04:18
Let's find a strip, this one looks good, | 0:04:18 | 0:04:21
and put on some glue. | 0:04:21 | 0:04:23
Here we go. I'll do the first one. | 0:04:24 | 0:04:27
We're going to keep all of our strips lying flat | 0:04:29 | 0:04:33
in the same way and we'll start at the top | 0:04:33 | 0:04:35
and work our way all the way down to the bottom. | 0:04:35 | 0:04:39
You can have a go, Danny. This one looks good. | 0:04:39 | 0:04:42
Can you put plenty of glue on it. Away we go. | 0:04:42 | 0:04:46
Perfect. Thank you, Danny. Let's stick this on. | 0:04:49 | 0:04:53
It's a good idea if you lay some of your strips on top of each other. | 0:04:53 | 0:04:58
It looks really good and don't worry if you go over the edges, | 0:04:58 | 0:05:03
just make sure you keep going until your page | 0:05:03 | 0:05:07
is completely covered in stripes! | 0:05:07 | 0:05:09
So, we're nearly finished, Danny. | 0:05:13 | 0:05:15
As you can see some of the strips have gone over the paper's edges. | 0:05:15 | 0:05:20
What we need to do is very carefully trim these off | 0:05:20 | 0:05:24
using some scissors. Just like this. | 0:05:24 | 0:05:27
And there we have it. | 0:05:31 | 0:05:33
A super stripey picture that's really colourful! | 0:05:33 | 0:05:36
The best thing about stripey pictures | 0:05:36 | 0:05:39
is you can make them in all sorts of different ways. | 0:05:39 | 0:05:43
How about this one made with light colours? | 0:05:43 | 0:05:46
Or this one made from strips of old wrapping paper. | 0:05:46 | 0:05:49
Or you could stick your strips the other way around. | 0:05:51 | 0:05:55
-What do you think, Danny? -Excellent! | 0:05:55 | 0:05:58
Excellent indeed! | 0:05:58 | 0:05:59
We made it and now your home is where the art is! | 0:05:59 | 0:06:02
Hurray! | 0:06:02 | 0:06:04
What a colourful stripey picture. | 0:06:05 | 0:06:07
Well done, Danny. Bye! | 0:06:07 | 0:06:10
Hah! I love being out and about in the Maker Mobile. | 0:06:12 | 0:06:16
The sun is shining, the birds are tweeting and... | 0:06:16 | 0:06:19
SPRINGY NOISE | 0:06:19 | 0:06:21
What's that noise? | 0:06:21 | 0:06:23
Oh-oh! I know who that is! | 0:06:24 | 0:06:28
Whoa! | 0:06:28 | 0:06:30 | |
-Hey! -Whoa! -Yes! | 0:06:30 | 0:06:33
I am a shape! | 0:06:35 | 0:06:36
# La-la la | 0:06:36 | 0:06:38

I am a circle. | 0:06:53 | 0:06:56
I am a triangle. | 0:06:58 | 0:07:01
I am a square. | 0:07:03 | 0:07:05
I am a rectangle. | 0:07:09 | 0:07:11

I am a shape! | 0:07:33 | 0:07:35
I am a square! | 0:07:40 | 0:07:43
What are the squares making today? | 0:07:45 | 0:07:48
Can you guess? | 0:07:51 | 0:07:53
Any ideas yet? | 0:07:58 | 0:08:00
It's a dinosaur! | 0:08:01 | 0:08:03
Well done, Shapes. | 0:08:04 | 0:08:06
It's time to get back in the Doodle Drawers | 0:08:06 | 0:08:10
-Wa-hoo! -Ooh! -He-he! | 0:08:10 | 0:08:12
Hee-hee-hee! | 0:08:12 | 0:08:14

I love driving the Maker Mobile. | 0:08:16 | 0:08:19
There are so many interesting things to see. | 0:08:19 | 0:08:23
It's Minute Make time! | 0:08:23 | 0:08:25
Hey! It's Minute Make time! | 0:08:25 | 0:08:27
I'm on my way. | 0:08:27 | 0:08:28
We've arrived. | 0:08:41 | 0:08:43
It's Minute Make time everyone! | 0:08:49 | 0:08:51
CHEERS | 0:08:51 | 0:08:53
Here's what we're going to make today. A peg animal. | 0:08:53 | 0:08:57
Look. It's my pet peg dog. | 0:08:57 | 0:09:00
To make one of these you will need - | 0:09:00 | 0:09:03
A glue stick, a pipe cleaner, three pegs, some fun fur | 0:09:03 | 0:09:09
a mini pompom, and we'll also need some googly eyes. | 0:09:09 | 0:09:13
You can find those in an art and craft shop. | 0:09:13 | 0:09:16
Be back very soon. | 0:09:16 | 0:09:18
TICK TOCK | 0:09:18 | 0:09:20
Whoa! I've got them. | 0:09:23 | 0:09:25
Here are our googly eyes. | 0:09:26 | 0:09:29
Now, do you think it's possible to make this peg animal | 0:09:30 | 0:09:34
in just one minute? | 0:09:34 | 0:09:36
ALL: No way! | 0:09:36 | 0:09:38
I think I can. I'm going to have to be very quick though. | 0:09:38 | 0:09:41
Don't worry, I'll remind you how to do it at the end. | 0:09:41 | 0:09:45
-Are you ready? -ALL: Yes! | 0:09:45 | 0:09:48
Are you ready? Great, let's make it in a minute. | 0:09:48 | 0:09:52
ALL: Three, two, one. | 0:09:52 | 0:09:54
Start the clock! | 0:09:54 | 0:09:55
I'm going to get the pipe cleaner, bend it in half | 0:09:55 | 0:09:59
and then give it a twist, round and round. | 0:09:59 | 0:10:02
Let's bring in our pegs. | 0:10:02 | 0:10:05
Put one on that end. That's the head. | 0:10:05 | 0:10:07
The opposite direction, we'll put on the legs. | 0:10:07 | 0:10:10
There's one there and one there too. | 0:10:10 | 0:10:13
Let's bend the tail, there we go. | 0:10:13 | 0:10:16
Let's get some glue and put on our pompom. | 0:10:16 | 0:10:19
This is going to be the nose. | 0:10:19 | 0:10:21
Let's glue that on. | 0:10:21 | 0:10:23
Now, let's put on googly eyes. | 0:10:23 | 0:10:25
Right, that eye's on. | 0:10:25 | 0:10:28
Let's try this eye. | 0:10:28 | 0:10:30
There we go, let's glue that eye on. | 0:10:32 | 0:10:34
That one there, there we go. | 0:10:34 | 0:10:36
If we get some of this fun fur. | 0:10:36 | 0:10:40
We can put some glue along there | 0:10:40 | 0:10:42
and glue this on the side. | 0:10:42 | 0:10:45
Here's my peg animal! I did it! | 0:10:45 | 0:10:49
CHEERS | 0:10:49 | 0:10:50
Just in time! | 0:10:52 | 0:10:53
If you've got more than a minute you can make all sorts of peg animals. | 0:10:53 | 0:10:58
What about this woolly sheep made with cotton wool for its coat? | 0:10:58 | 0:11:02
Or this. | 0:11:02 | 0:11:04
It's a pink rabbit with pink cotton wool and sticking out feet. | 0:11:04 | 0:11:08
Or you can make a tropical peg parrot | 0:11:08 | 0:11:12
with multicoloured feathers and a peg for its beak. | 0:11:12 | 0:11:16
Peg animals made in just a minute. | 0:11:16 | 0:11:18
Why don't you have a go. Here's a reminder of how to do it. | 0:11:18 | 0:11:22
Let's go back to the beginning and take another look. | 0:11:22 | 0:11:25
Take a pipe cleaner, bend it in half and give it a twist. | 0:11:25 | 0:11:29
Clip on pegs for legs and a head like this. | 0:11:31 | 0:11:33
Stick on a pompom nose and googly eyes. | 0:11:34 | 0:11:37
Glue fun fur on the body. | 0:11:38 | 0:11:40
And your peg animal is finished. | 0:11:42 | 0:11:44
Why don't you try making it in a minute! | 0:11:47 | 0:11:50
I must dash. You coming with me Peggy? | 0:11:50 | 0:11:53
-B-a-a-ah! -Oh, suit yourself! | 0:11:53 | 0:11:56
-Bye everyone! -ALL: Bye! | 0:11:56 | 0:11:57
HORN BEEPS | 0:11:59 | 0:12:01
I wonder where we're off to next? | 0:12:04 | 0:12:06
-Hello, Mister Maker. -Oh, nice to see you. | 0:12:07 | 0:12:11
Look what we're making today. | 0:12:11 | 0:12:14
What are they going to make? | 0:12:14 | 0:12:16
I am red. | 0:12:20 | 0:12:22
I'm light blue. | 0:12:24 | 0:12:26
I'm yellow. | 0:12:30 | 0:12:31
I'm dark blue. | 0:12:34 | 0:12:36
I am grey. | 0:12:38 | 0:12:40
I am peach. | 0:13:02 | 0:13:04
It's a spaceman! | 0:13:08 | 0:13:10
Well done, everybody. See you soon. | 0:13:10 | 0:13:13
HORN BEEPS | 0:13:15 | 0:13:16
Sh! It's time for - A Big Surprise! | 0:13:16 | 0:13:21
I'm about to surprise these Mini Makers who are not expecting me. | 0:13:23 | 0:13:27
-Hello! -Ah! It's Mister Maker. | 0:13:28 | 0:13:30
Mister Maker! | 0:13:30 | 0:13:32
It's great to meet you. Now, do you like going on holiday? | 0:13:32 | 0:13:36
ALL: Yes! | 0:13:36 | 0:13:38
Me too, but I can't decide where to go this year. | 0:13:38 | 0:13:41
Oh! Thank you. | 0:13:41 | 0:13:43
Ah! Wow! | 0:13:43 | 0:13:45
This map shows the perfect place to go on holiday. | 0:13:45 | 0:13:49
It's just given me a big idea. | 0:13:49 | 0:13:52
I think we should make a big, tropical holiday island. | 0:13:52 | 0:13:57
-Will you help me? -ALL: Yes! | 0:13:57 | 0:13:59
Fantastic. | 0:13:59 | 0:14:01
Morgan, Hope, Caspian, Amber and Ben, let's make it! | 0:14:01 | 0:14:05
We're going to make a tropical island, aren't we? | 0:14:05 | 0:14:09
Yes. | 0:14:09 | 0:14:10 | |
What should it look like? | 0:14:10 | 0:14:12
Erm... A palm tree and some golden sand. | 0:14:12 | 0:14:16
Golden sand and a palm tree too. | 0:14:16 | 0:14:18
Shall we paint our palm tree? | 0:14:18 | 0:14:21
-Shall we paint it? What colours? -Brown. -Green. | 0:14:21 | 0:14:26
Fantastic! They'll be great colours. What can go on our palm tree? | 0:14:26 | 0:14:30
-Coconuts. -Coconuts. That's right. | 0:14:30 | 0:14:33
-What can we make our coconuts out of? -Brown... -Brown card. | 0:14:33 | 0:14:37
That's such a good idea, isn't it. | 0:14:37 | 0:14:40
-We can paint it brown. -Do you think that'll work? | 0:14:40 | 0:14:43
That'll be great. I think we're ready to make our island. | 0:14:43 | 0:14:48
-ALL: Yes! -Brilliant! | 0:14:48 | 0:14:50
Let's make it. | 0:14:50 | 0:14:52
We're painting palm trees. | 0:14:54 | 0:14:56
-Can you help me paint my shell? -Of course I can. | 0:15:02 | 0:15:06
This is your shell, is it? It's quite big. | 0:15:06 | 0:15:09
Look at that. | 0:15:09 | 0:15:11
Imagine the snail that lived inside that shell! | 0:15:12 | 0:15:15
-What are you painting, Morgan? -Coconuts. | 0:15:15 | 0:15:19
Coconuts. I like coconuts. | 0:15:19 | 0:15:22
We're having great fun making our big island in the sun. | 0:15:26 | 0:15:30
Why don't you try making your own little one. | 0:15:30 | 0:15:33
Try making a mini tropical island with its own palm tree. | 0:15:35 | 0:15:39
Make it, play with it, have fun with it. | 0:15:39 | 0:15:42
To make one you will need pipe cleaners, a pencil, | 0:15:43 | 0:15:46
a paper plate, modelling clay, gloopy glue, | 0:15:46 | 0:15:51
play sand, tissue paper, coloured card, a pompom | 0:15:51 | 0:15:56
and a small toy. | 0:15:56 | 0:15:57
Take three pipe cleaners and wrap them around the top of a pencil. | 0:15:57 | 0:16:03
Then bend them so they look like palm tree leaves. | 0:16:04 | 0:16:08
Next, turn a paper plate upside-down. | 0:16:09 | 0:16:12
Put a ball of modelling clay under your plate | 0:16:12 | 0:16:15
and push your palm tree into it like this. | 0:16:15 | 0:16:19
Now cover the top of your plate in a layer of gloopy glue. | 0:16:22 | 0:16:26
Sprinkle on some play sand. | 0:16:30 | 0:16:32
Next, take some pieces of coloured tissue paper | 0:16:35 | 0:16:39
