Try making an octopus picture

and colour it in by sticking on sticky dots.

And we need some paper.

So, Zak, this is what we're going to make today.

It's a super-spotty dot picture. What do you think about that then?

Are you ready? Brilliant. Let's get making.

First we're going to bring in a clean sheet of paper like that

because we're going to draw the outline

of whatever we want our picture to be.

I'm going to draw a big octopus with a big, round head.

And eight wobbly legs.

Our octopus needs some eyes so let's grab some big, white sticky dots.

And using a pen,

we can add in some black dots to make pupils.

Our octopus needs a cheeky smile. You're good at cheeky smiles

so give me a cheeky smile to copy. That's a very good one.

OK, here we go.

Brilliant, and our octopus needs to be coloured in,

but we're not going to use crayons, pens or pencils as you'd expect.

Oh, no. We're going to use lots and lots of sticky dots.

You can help with this. Let's move our octopus over to you

and let's colour him in with lots of dots.

Let's get sticking.

You can use dots to make all sorts of pictures.

How about this spotty elephant with big, flappy ears?

Or what about a beautiful bunch of flowers

with multicoloured petals.

Or even this colourful cottage with white-sticker window frames

and a dotty brown door.

Sticky-dot pictures are easy and they're really dotty.

And today, we're going to get into the spirit of the old Wild West.

Ooh! Howdy because we're going to make

a cute cactus. It's called cute because

unlike a real cactus, it doesn't hurt you when you touch it.

Brilliant!

To make one of these, you will need a small flowerpot,

some pieces of dried spaghetti,

a pencil and we'll also need some air-drying clay.

You can get that in an art and craft shop.

I'll be back very soon.

Here is our air-drying clay.

Do you think it's possible to make this cute cactus

in just one minute?

ALL: No way!

Oh! I think I can. I'm going to have to be very quick,

but don't worry, I'll remind you how to do it at the end. Are you ready?

ALL: Yes!

Are you ready? Great! Let's make it in a minute.

ALL: Three, two, one...

Start the clock!

The first thing we'll do

is get a big ball of air-drying clay

and push it into our pot.

We're going to get a smaller piece of clay and roll a sausage shape.

Then stick that into the pot.

Now we get a smaller piece of clay and roll a smaller sausage.

Bend it

and push it onto the side and there's our cactus shape.

Let's get a pencil

and put some holes all over it. There we go.

Now we put in some pieces of pasta

and you can put in as many of these as you like.

It can be a bit fiddly, but it's lots of fun.

A few more in there.

One in the bottom there like that.

One in the top. That'd be good.

One there.

There we go and one in there.

And there. I did it!

Just in time,

but if you've got more than a minute,

you can paint your cactus green

and the bottom a lovely sandy yellow colour.

If you like, you can go cactus-crazy.

How about this one?

It's got tissue-paper flowers and two sausage shapes.

This one's round and it's got lots of spaghetti spikes.

Why not try this one

which has got candle-holder flowers

and it's made from three balls of clay.

A cute cactus made in a minute. Why don't you have a go?

Here's a reminder of how to do it.

'Let's go back to the beginning and take another look.

'Put a ball of clay into a flowerpot,

'roll a clay sausage shape and push this on top.

'Make a small sausage shape and stick on the side.

'Make holes in the cactus with a pencil

'and push in dried spaghetti pieces until your cute cactus

'is finished.'

Why don't you try and make one in a minute?

I think we should make a big puppet show, so will you help me?

We're going to make a big puppet show, aren't we?

-What should our puppets look like?

-A fluffy nose.

Our puppets will be very funny,

Hello, do you like my new hair? What do you think? Is it good?

-Oh, shall we put it on the puppet, then?

-Yeah.

Put some glue on there for me, Bhadra. On the top.

Put plenty on. That's it. Now we can give our puppet some hair,

like that.

We're having great fun making our big puppet theatre.

So why don't you try making your own little puppet at home?

Try making a fantastic funny monster puppet.

Make it, play with it, have fun with it.

You will need a pen, stickers,

a pom-pom, rolled-up paper balls,

a glue stick, wool,

a paintbrush and paint,

scissors, a pencil and a small box.

Take a box and a pencil and make a hole.

Now carefully cut across the middle and down both sides.

Fold it over to make a mouth.

Now paint the box.

And paint the inside of the mouth a different colour.

Then glue some wool onto the top to make hair.

And stick on two rolled-up paper balls for eyes.

Glue on a pom-pom nose.

And add some white-sticker teeth.

If you haven't got white stickers,

you could always glue down some white paper.

Then add black dots to the eyes for pupils.

And your puppet is finished and ready to put on a puppet show.

'Hey, hey-hey, yeah!'

What a perfect way to make a little puppet.

-And talking of puppets, how are we getting on down here?

-Fine.

He looks great, but he needs a nose. Let's stick one on.

Great, now lift him up.

Aw, he looks cute!

Ow! Oh, he got my finger!

This way, that's it, this way. Brilliant. Well done.
