-Hello. My name is Bea. -Hello, Bea. Can I help you today? | 0:01:01 | 0:01:06
-Yes, please, Mister Maker. -I'll be there as fast as I can. | 0:01:06 | 0:01:10
BEEPS HORN | 0:01:14 | 0:01:16
Here we are. | 0:01:26 | 0:01:27
Hello, Bea. Lovely to meet you. How can I help you today? | 0:01:31 | 0:01:36
-Please can we make something with this? -What is it? | 0:01:36 | 0:01:40
Oh, it's a tub full of bits of junk and old toys. Let's have a look. | 0:01:40 | 0:01:46
Oh, yes! There's lots of lovely colourful pieces here. | 0:01:47 | 0:01:54
If you arrange them together, you can make shapes. | 0:01:54 | 0:01:59
Ha ha! This has just given me a great idea. Let's try something. | 0:01:59 | 0:02:05
Try making a giant junk letter that's really colourful. | 0:02:06 | 0:02:10
-BOTH: -Let's make it! | 0:02:10 | 0:02:12
First, we'll need somewhere to make to make it. | 0:02:12 | 0:02:15
Ho ho! And we'll need some things from the doodle drawers. | 0:02:18 | 0:02:22
Hold these, please. I'll be back soon. | 0:02:22 | 0:02:25
A piece of paper or card and a pen. | 0:02:30 | 0:02:33
A bowl and some gloopy PVA glue. | 0:02:35 | 0:02:39
We also need a brush. | 0:02:41 | 0:02:44
I wonder if Scraps can help. | 0:02:44 | 0:02:46
HONKS HORN | 0:02:46 | 0:02:49
Oh, hello, Scraps! Wow! What a lovely painting! | 0:02:49 | 0:02:54
Oh, Scraps, I couldn't borrow your brushes, could I, please? | 0:02:54 | 0:02:57
-Oh-ma-ma. -Great! | 0:02:57 | 0:02:59
Oh, well done, Scraps! That's perfect! Here we go. | 0:03:01 | 0:03:05
Thank you very much. OK, have fun painting. | 0:03:05 | 0:03:09
We also need some pom-poms, some wool and some colourful beads. | 0:03:14 | 0:03:19
OK, then, Bea. Let's make a junk letter, like this one here. | 0:03:21 | 0:03:26
Look, it's in the shape of the capital letter M. | 0:03:26 | 0:03:31
M for me, Mister Maker. But you can make whatever junk letter you like. | 0:03:31 | 0:03:36
-All right then, Bea. Are you ready? -Yes! -Ha ha! | 0:03:36 | 0:03:40
Are you ready? Fantastic! Let's get making. | 0:03:40 | 0:03:44
The first thing is to draw a big letter onto a piece of card. | 0:03:44 | 0:03:49
Now we're going to cover this shape in a thick layer of gloopy glue. | 0:03:58 | 0:04:03
Next, stick down lots of different bits of junk, old toys, | 0:04:16 | 0:04:21
beads, building blocks, anything really. Let's get sticking. | 0:04:21 | 0:04:26
I'm going to go for a spoon first. A cotton reel. That's a good idea. | 0:04:26 | 0:04:32
-Is there something blue in there, Bea? -Yes. -Oh, perfect. Well done. | 0:04:35 | 0:04:41
Let's stick that there. | 0:04:41 | 0:04:43
Make sure you fill in the whole letter. Like this. | 0:04:47 | 0:04:52
It's looking good already, but to finish it off, | 0:04:53 | 0:04:57
let's stick some wool around the edge of our letter. | 0:04:57 | 0:05:00
We can leave this to dry, which will give you time | 0:05:06 | 0:05:09
to do something completely different. Mini Sing-Song! | 0:05:09 | 0:05:13
-# Make it, Mister Maker -Ooh, la la la la | 0:05:13 | 0:05:16
# Mister Maker | 0:05:16 | 0:05:18
-# Ooh, la la la la -Mister Maker. # | 0:05:20 | 0:05:23
Woah! It's dry! It's a fantastic junk letter. | 0:05:26 | 0:05:31
And you can make all kinds of junk letters and shapes. | 0:05:31 | 0:05:35
How about making the first letter of your name? Look, it's a B for Bea, | 0:05:35 | 0:05:41
made with buttons, pom-poms, toys and beads. | 0:05:41 | 0:05:44
Or how about making a number, like this number 2, | 0:05:44 | 0:05:48
made with blue and purple bits and bobs? | 0:05:48 | 0:05:51
Or you could even make a shape, like this shiny star, | 0:05:51 | 0:05:55
with sparkly pom-poms, sequins and shiny things. | 0:05:55 | 0:05:59
Junk letters, a great way to reuse some old toys | 0:05:59 | 0:06:02
and junk from around the house. | 0:06:02 | 0:06:04
-Did you enjoy that, Bea? -Yes! -Brilliant! We made it. | 0:06:04 | 0:06:08
And now your home is where the art is! High five! | 0:06:08 | 0:06:12
Ha ha! | 0:06:12 | 0:06:14 | |
What a fantastic junk letter! Well done, Bea. Bye! | 0:06:14 | 0:06:19
Ha ha! Lovely! Hee hee! | 0:06:19 | 0:06:23
It's brilliant being out and about in the Makermobile. | 0:06:23 | 0:06:26
-There's so much to see and do. -LAUGHTER | 0:06:26 | 0:06:31
What's that noise? | 0:06:31 | 0:06:33
Oh, I know who that is! | 0:06:33 | 0:06:36
-Wargh! -Wahey! | 0:06:38 | 0:06:41
I am a shape! | 0:06:43 | 0:06:44
I am a shape! | 0:06:48 | 0:06:50
I am a circle. | 0:06:52 | 0:06:55
I am a triangle. | 0:06:57 | 0:06:59
I am a square. | 0:07:01 | 0:07:04
I am a rectangle. | 0:07:07 | 0:07:10
I am a shape. | 0:07:16 | 0:07:18
I am a shape. | 0:07:21 | 0:07:23
I am a shape. | 0:07:26 | 0:07:29
I am a shape. | 0:07:31 | 0:07:34
I am a circle. | 0:07:39 | 0:07:42
What's hiding in the circles? | 0:07:44 | 0:07:47
Can you guess? | 0:07:51 | 0:07:53
It's a penguin! | 0:08:02 | 0:08:04
Well done, shapes! It's time to get back in the doodle drawers. | 0:08:04 | 0:08:09
-Hee hee hee! -HORN BEEPS | 0:08:13 | 0:08:17
Aw, this is a lovely day for a drive out in the Makermobile, isn't it? | 0:08:19 | 0:08:26
Minute Make Time! | 0:08:26 | 0:08:28
Hey, it's Minute Make Time! I'm on my way! | 0:08:28 | 0:08:31
Here we are. | 0:08:44 | 0:08:46
It's Minute Make Time, everyone! | 0:08:51 | 0:08:54
-DRUMS PLAY -Oh, that's got a really good beat. | 0:08:57 | 0:09:00
Come on, everyone. Let's dance. | 0:09:00 | 0:09:03
Great dancing. If you like to dance to the beat of the drum, | 0:09:12 | 0:09:16
you'll love today's Minute Make. | 0:09:16 | 0:09:19
It's a dinky drum. | 0:09:19 | 0:09:21
Ha ha! Look at that! | 0:09:24 | 0:09:27
If you'd like to make one, here's what we'll need. | 0:09:27 | 0:09:31
A pencil, some scissors, a rubber band, | 0:09:31 | 0:09:35
some modelling clay, a glue stick, | 0:09:35 | 0:09:37
an empty pot, a rubber glove and a rectangle of wrapping paper. | 0:09:37 | 0:09:43
Now, do you think it's possible to make this... | 0:09:43 | 0:09:46
dinky drum in just one minute? | 0:09:46 | 0:09:50
ALL: No way! | 0:09:50 | 0:09:52
Well, I think I can, but I'll have to be very quick. | 0:09:52 | 0:09:56
Don't worry. I'll remind you how to do it at the end. | 0:09:56 | 0:09:59
-Are you ready? -ALL: Yes! | 0:09:59 | 0:10:02
Are you ready? Brilliant! Let's make it in a minute! | 0:10:02 | 0:10:06
-ALL: Three, two, one... -Start the clock! | 0:10:06 | 0:10:10
Get our rubber glove and scissors | 0:10:10 | 0:10:13
and very carefully cut this part of the rubber glove off. | 0:10:13 | 0:10:19
-We need to be careful with scissors. They are... -Sharp! | 0:10:19 | 0:10:22
We're going to snip down here, so we get one flat piece like that. | 0:10:22 | 0:10:27
We're going to put the rubber on top and get our rubber band | 0:10:27 | 0:10:32
and put it over the top like that. | 0:10:32 | 0:10:36
Get our scissors and carefully just trim off all the extra bits. | 0:10:36 | 0:10:41
I'm going as quick as I can. | 0:10:41 | 0:10:43
You might want to take your time over this. There we go. | 0:10:43 | 0:10:47
Now I need to get the wrapping paper and put some glue on that edge. | 0:10:47 | 0:10:53
And that edge. And then I can wrap it round my pot. | 0:10:53 | 0:10:58
Wrap it round and round like that. | 0:10:58 | 0:11:03
Then I need the modelling clay and push it carefully | 0:11:03 | 0:11:07
onto the pencil and that's the beater for our dinky drum. | 0:11:07 | 0:11:12
A dinky drum, made in a minute. | 0:11:15 | 0:11:17
If you've got more than a minute, you can try all sorts of ideas. | 0:11:17 | 0:11:21
How about a spotty, flowery one? | 0:11:21 | 0:11:25
Or this one, with zig-zags and a multicoloured beater? | 0:11:25 | 0:11:31
Dinky drums, made in a minute. Why don't you try it? | 0:11:31 | 0:11:34
Here's a reminder of how to do it. | 0:11:34 | 0:11:37
Let's take another look. | 0:11:37 | 0:11:39
Carefully cut a piece of rubber from a rubber glove. | 0:11:39 | 0:11:43
Stretch it over the pot, like this. Hold it in place with a rubber band. | 0:11:43 | 0:11:48
Trim off the extra bits of rubber, stick wrapping paper around the pot. | 0:11:48 | 0:11:53
Push a ball of modelling clay onto a pencil for a drum stick | 0:11:53 | 0:11:57
and your dinky drum is finished! | 0:11:57 | 0:11:59
Why don't you try and make it in a minute? | 0:12:01 | 0:12:04
And remember, the more drums you make... | 0:12:04 | 0:12:08
..the more drumming you can do! | 0:12:08 | 0:12:11
Yeah! | 0:12:13 | 0:12:16 | |
Time to go, everyone. Thanks for being part of another | 0:12:16 | 0:12:19
-marvellous Minute Make. Goodbye. -ALL: Goodbye! | 0:12:19 | 0:12:24
HORN BEEPS | 0:12:24 | 0:12:26
Aw, this is fun! Where shall we go to next? | 0:12:26 | 0:12:30
-Hello, Mister Maker. -Oh, hello! | 0:12:30 | 0:12:35
-Look what we're making today. -Let's take a look. | 0:12:35 | 0:12:39
I am green. | 0:12:45 | 0:12:47
I am dark blue. | 0:12:51 | 0:12:52
I am purple. | 0:12:54 | 0:12:56
I am red. | 0:12:57 | 0:12:59
I am brown. | 0:13:02 | 0:13:04
I am grey. | 0:13:07 | 0:13:09
I am black. | 0:13:14 | 0:13:17
ALL: It's a knight on a horse! | 0:13:23 | 0:13:27
Well done, everyone! See you soon! | 0:13:27 | 0:13:30
HORN BEEPS | 0:13:30 | 0:13:32
Guess what! It's time for... | 0:13:32 | 0:13:36
a big surprise! | 0:13:36 | 0:13:38
These Mini Makers are not expecting me. | 0:13:40 | 0:13:44
Woah! Hello, my friends. It's lovely to meet you. | 0:13:44 | 0:13:49
Mini Makers, I need your help! | 0:13:49 | 0:13:52
Ha ha! Hello! It's Fisherman maker here! | 0:13:52 | 0:13:55
Bad news, I'm afraid. I haven't caught anything today. | 0:13:55 | 0:14:00
What's this though? It could be my first catch of the day! | 0:14:00 | 0:14:04
Oh, no! It's just another boot! | 0:14:04 | 0:14:09
I'll put it with all the others. | 0:14:09 | 0:14:12
Instead of catching something, why don't we make something? | 0:14:12 | 0:14:18
-I think we should make a big seaside crab. Will you help me? -ALL: Yes! | 0:14:18 | 0:14:24
Fantastic! | 0:14:24 | 0:14:26
OK, Sean, Samia, Joanne, Subhan and Anafife, let's make it. | 0:14:26 | 0:14:33
What can we use to make our crab? What do you think? | 0:14:33 | 0:14:37
-What can we make the googly eyes out of? -Crayons! -These? Good idea. | 0:14:37 | 0:14:42
-That's great. What else does a crab have? -Legs. -Legs. | 0:14:42 | 0:14:47
-That's right. -Snappers! -They're like this. Very snappy crabs. | 0:14:47 | 0:14:50
That's it. | 0:14:50 | 0:14:53
-Where could our crab live? -In the seaside. -In the seaside. | 0:14:53 | 0:14:56
-What can we use for the seaside? What could this be? -The sand! | 0:14:56 | 0:15:00
What else would you see at the bottom of the sea? Maybe seaweed? | 0:15:00 | 0:15:05
What can we use to make the seaweed? | 0:15:05 | 0:15:08
Oh, that would work, Samia. Well done! Let's have a look. Oh, yes. | 0:15:08 | 0:15:14
That would make lovely seaweed. Look at this! | 0:15:14 | 0:15:19
-I think we're ready. -Yes! -Come on, then. Let's make it! | 0:15:19 | 0:15:23
-OK, Joanne, let's stack these pots to make... -The crab's legs. | 0:15:23 | 0:15:29
OK, let's go. | 0:15:29 | 0:15:31
-Finished. -Me too. High five. | 0:15:31 | 0:15:34
ALL: We're painting shells. | 0:15:36 | 0:15:39
We're making rocks. | 0:15:39 | 0:15:42
These are the waves. | 0:15:54 | 0:15:56
And this is the blue sky. | 0:15:58 | 0:16:00
Come on then, give me a wave, please. Thank you. | 0:16:02 | 0:16:06
This big surprise has been great fun so far, | 0:16:06 | 0:16:09
so why don't you join in and make your very own Mini Make? | 0:16:09 | 0:16:13
Reuse an old egg box and try making a cute cardboard crab. | 0:16:15 | 0:16:20
Make it, play with it, have fun with it! | 0:16:20 | 0:16:23
You will need some paint, some glue, cardboard tubes, an old egg box, | 0:16:23 | 0:16:30
sticky tape, stickers, tissue paper, scissors, a pen and a paint brush. | 0:16:30 | 0:16:37
To make the crab's arms, take four small cardboard tubes. | 0:16:37 | 0:16:41
Then flatten one end of each tube. | 0:16:41 | 0:16:45
For each arm, cut a V shape into the flattened end of one tube | 0:16:45 | 0:16:51
to make a pincer. | 0:16:51 | 0:16:52
Then push another tube into it, like this. | 0:16:52 | 0:16:57
And tape it all together. | 0:16:57 | 0:17:00
Now do the same with the other tubes to make another arm. | 0:17:03 | 0:17:09
Glue both arms to the sides of the egg box. | 0:17:09 | 0:17:13
And paint the crab any colour you want. | 0:17:13 | 0:17:16
When it's dry, add some details with a pen. | 0:17:16 | 0:17:21
Some dots, and a mouth! | 0:17:21 | 0:17:25
Then screw up two balls of tissue paper for eyes. | 0:17:25 | 0:17:29
Add stickers for pupils. | 0:17:29 | 0:17:33
And stick them onto the crab. | 0:17:33 | 0:17:36
Your cute crab is finished and ready to play with. | 0:17:38 | 0:17:43
What a lovely little crab! I love his big eyes. | 0:17:47 | 0:17:52
Here, I wonder how our Mini Makers are getting on. | 0:17:52 | 0:17:56
-What are we making, everyone? -The seaside! -The seaside. | 0:17:56 | 0:17:59
I'll help you with this. | 0:17:59 | 0:18:01
Now for the big crab. | 0:18:06 | 0:18:09
And some rocks and seaweed. | 0:18:15 | 0:18:18
Well done, everyone. We made it! | 0:18:18 | 0:18:23
Yeah! | 0:18:23 | 0:18:25 | |
What a lovely seaside with a monster crab. | 0:18:27 | 0:18:30
Yikes! | 0:18:32 | 0:18:34
Mister Maker! Time to go! | 0:18:36 | 0:18:39

It's time to put the Makermobile back in its box. | 0:18:44 | 0:18:49
