-Can we make a space picture?

-A space picture is a great idea.

-I'd love to visit outer space. Wouldn't you?

-Yes.

Just imagine all the amazing things we'd see.

Space is ace!

Oh, Alice. That's just given me a great idea. Let's try something.

Try making a wonderful window picture of a rocket in outer space.

-Let's make it!

-But first, we'll need somewhere to make it.

And we'll also need some things from the doodle drawers.

Some coloured paper, some white paint and some scissors.

A glue stick, some stickers, a pen and a pencil.

I had some stars and planets somewhere, but where are they?

Maybe Scraps will know.

Wow! Hello, Scraps! Oh, I see. You're dressed as a magician today.

All right then, the Great Scraps, we need some stars and planets.

Can you help, please?

Ah, well done, the Great Scraps! We've got some stars and planets.

Thanks, Scraps. Now that's magic!

We also need a see through plastic lid and a brush.

OK then, Alice. Let's make a window picture, like this one here

of outer space!

-Alice, are you ready?

-Yes!

-Brilliant!

Are you ready? Fantastic!

Let's get making. First, we need to find a clear lid.

Any type of clear plastic lid will do.

Now this, Alice, is going to be our window.

Let's bring in a sheet of dark paper

and we're going to draw around the lid with a pencil.

-What shape should we have here, Alice?

-Circle.

-A circle?

Let's see if you're right. Of course! We need to cut this out.

-Remember to be careful with scissors because they are...

-Sharp!

That's right.

Here is our circle.

This can get a little bit messy.

It's a good idea to put down some old paper

and put on some old clothes or an apron.

Ha-hey! OK, Alice, there's your circle of paper. Get flicking!

And make a starry sky background!

But we must remember to flick the paint away from us like this.

Well done, Alice. Can I have a go now? Is that OK?

Let's move our starry sky over. Ho-ho!

When you've finished, leave it to dry.

Now, it's time to draw our rocket with some flames

and the tail of a shooting star.

All right, let's get drawing.

Now you're ready to very carefully cut out all of these pieces.

Then we can stick all of our pieces onto our starry sky background.

It looks like our rocket is flying through space.

And you can even add on some stars and planets like this.

Now to make our rocket really stand out,

we can stick on some stickers for windows.

So, Alice, stick on these red ones first, I think.

Very good. I'm going to take that now and add some smaller stickers.

There. Now let's bring back in our lid.

We're going to put some glue along this edge here.

-Can you help me, please, Alice?

-Yes.

-Grab some glue.

That's it.

That's it, round there. Well done. And now we can stick it on.

We've finished our wonderful window picture.

And you can make all kinds of window pictures.

Why not try an underwater window picture

with fish swimming in the sea?

You could use smaller lids to make the windows on a paper plane.

Hey, it's Minute Make Time! I'm on my way!

I've arrived.

-It's Minute Make Time, everyone!

-ALL: Yay!

Who likes to bounce? I do!

Come on, everyone! Bounce! Bounce! Are you bouncing?

Brilliant bouncing, everyone!

Who else likes to bounce? This bouncy egg bug!

Look at him! This bouncy egg bug is great fun to play with

or to just hang around the house.

We can make it in just one minute by using these things.

A piece of thin elastic, some coloured wool, some scissors,

some stickers, some sticky tape

and a plastic egg or a capsule that splits into two halves.

You might want to ask an adult to help you find one

because they come in all different shapes and sizes.

Do you think it's possible to make this bouncy egg bug in a minute?

-No way!

-I think I can, but I'm going to have to be quick.

-I'll remind you how to do it at the end. Are you ready?

-Yes!

Are you ready? Brilliant! Let's make it in a minute!

-Three, two, one, go!

-Start the clock!

Let's open up our plastic egg and get a thin piece of elastic

and then stick it in like that.

We need to get our wool and fold it in half and then half again

and place on top of the egg and get the other half and close it shut.

We need to get our scissors. We need to be careful because they are...

-Sharp!

-That's right. We're going to snip these loops.

There's one, there's two. There's another one.

This will give us eight legs for our bouncy bug.

We need to give him a face. Let's get some stickers.

There's an eye and let's get another one.

I think this will look really good if you've got some purple stickers.

These can be pupils. There's one on there.

And now another one there.

We've got enough time to put a mouth on with one more sticker.

And we've got a bouncy egg bug!

Ha-ha! Phew! I made it. Just.

If you've got more than a minute, you can try some different ideas.

How about this one with straws for legs and antennae?

Or this really spotty one with long woolly legs?

Or you could try this glittery one with pipe cleaners for legs.

Why don't you try it? Here's a reminder of how to do it.

Let's go back to the beginning.

Tape a piece of elastic inside one half of the egg,

fold the wool in half twice, trap it between the two halves of the egg.

Cut the looped ends of the wool, add stickers for eyes and a mouth.

And your egg bug is finished.

We're making a big hot air balloon. What does it look like?

You have this big balloon to float you up.

-You have a basket to stand in.

-The basket. We've got to make a basket.

-What can we make a basket from?

-An old flower pot.

-What do you think, Charlie?

-A cup.

-Now, where is our hot air balloon going to float?

-The sky.

-In the sky.

-What else do we see floating in the sky?

-Clouds.

-What can we use to make clouds?

-This! Cotton wool!

-Cotton wool.

-All right, Mini Makers, I think we're ready.

-Yes!

-Let's make it!

I'm making a basket.

We're making the balloons.

And these are the clouds.

And now we'll need a blue sky.

That's it! Woo! This big surprise has been great fun so far.

Why don't you join in and make your very own Mini Make?

Try making a hot air balloon to play with and have fun with.

You will need strips of card, a glue stick, a clean plastic pot,

some wool, scissors, and sticky tape.

Place the strips of coloured card on top of each other in a star shape.

Then tape them together.

Now lay different coloured strips on top, like this.

And tape them down.

Gather up the ends of all the strips

and tape them together to make a balloon shape.

Then, take the empty plastic pot

and glue four pieces of wool around the outside for decoration.

Take four long pieces of wool, make sure they're the same length

and tape them to the inside of the pot.

Now take the other ends of the wool and stick them

inside the balloon like this. Stick another piece of wool

to the top of the balloon and it's ready to hang up!

Your hot air balloon is finished and ready to play with.

It can even take passengers. Hold on tight, Teddy!
