Hello there. Nice to see you. I'm out and about in my Makermobile. | 0:00:48 | 0:00:54
The great thing about the Makermobile is it can go anywhere. | 0:00:54 | 0:00:58
Cwor! Tocky here. Mini Maker Message! | 0:00:58 | 0:01:02
-Hello. I'm Alice. -Hello, Alice. Can I help you today? | 0:01:02 | 0:01:07
-Yes, please, Mister Maker. -I'll be right with you. | 0:01:07 | 0:01:11
BEEPS HORN | 0:01:11 | 0:01:13
Here we are! | 0:01:27 | 0:01:29
Hello, Alice. It's lovely to meet you. How can I help you today? | 0:01:33 | 0:01:37
-Can we make a space picture? -A space picture is a great idea. | 0:01:37 | 0:01:42
-I'd love to visit outer space. Wouldn't you? -Yes. | 0:01:42 | 0:01:46
Just imagine all the amazing things we'd see. | 0:01:52 | 0:01:57
Space is ace! | 0:01:57 | 0:02:01
Oh, Alice. That's just given me a great idea. Let's try something. | 0:02:04 | 0:02:09
Try making a wonderful window picture of a rocket in outer space. | 0:02:10 | 0:02:16
-Let's make it! -But first, we'll need somewhere to make it. | 0:02:16 | 0:02:20
And we'll also need some things from the doodle drawers. | 0:02:25 | 0:02:30
Some coloured paper, some white paint and some scissors. | 0:02:33 | 0:02:37
A glue stick, some stickers, a pen and a pencil. | 0:02:40 | 0:02:44
I had some stars and planets somewhere, but where are they? | 0:02:47 | 0:02:51
Maybe Scraps will know. | 0:02:51 | 0:02:54
TOOTS HORN | 0:02:54 | 0:02:57
Wow! Hello, Scraps! Oh, I see. You're dressed as a magician today. | 0:02:57 | 0:03:04
All right then, the Great Scraps, we need some stars and planets. | 0:03:04 | 0:03:09
Can you help, please? | 0:03:09 | 0:03:12
Ah, well done, the Great Scraps! We've got some stars and planets. | 0:03:15 | 0:03:20
Thanks, Scraps. Now that's magic! | 0:03:20 | 0:03:23
We also need a see through plastic lid and a brush. | 0:03:26 | 0:03:30
OK then, Alice. Let's make a window picture, like this one here | 0:03:30 | 0:03:35
of outer space! | 0:03:35 | 0:03:39
-Alice, are you ready? -Yes! -Brilliant! | 0:03:39 | 0:03:43
Are you ready? Fantastic! | 0:03:43 | 0:03:46
Let's get making. First, we need to find a clear lid. | 0:03:46 | 0:03:51
Any type of clear plastic lid will do. | 0:03:51 | 0:03:54
Now this, Alice, is going to be our window. | 0:03:54 | 0:03:57
Let's bring in a sheet of dark paper | 0:03:57 | 0:04:00
and we're going to draw around the lid with a pencil. | 0:04:00 | 0:04:04
-What shape should we have here, Alice? -Circle. -A circle? | 0:04:11 | 0:04:15
Let's see if you're right. Of course! We need to cut this out. | 0:04:15 | 0:04:19
-Remember to be careful with scissors because they are... -Sharp! | 0:04:19 | 0:04:23
That's right. | 0:04:23 | 0:04:25
Here is our circle. | 0:04:31 | 0:04:34
This can get a little bit messy. | 0:04:34 | 0:04:37
It's a good idea to put down some old paper | 0:04:37 | 0:04:39
and put on some old clothes or an apron. | 0:04:39 | 0:04:43
Ha-hey! OK, Alice, there's your circle of paper. Get flicking! | 0:04:43 | 0:04:49
And make a starry sky background! | 0:04:49 | 0:04:52
But we must remember to flick the paint away from us like this. | 0:04:55 | 0:05:00
Well done, Alice. Can I have a go now? Is that OK? | 0:05:02 | 0:05:05
Let's move our starry sky over. Ho-ho! | 0:05:05 | 0:05:11
When you've finished, leave it to dry. | 0:05:13 | 0:05:16
Now, it's time to draw our rocket with some flames | 0:05:16 | 0:05:21
and the tail of a shooting star. | 0:05:21 | 0:05:24
All right, let's get drawing. | 0:05:24 | 0:05:27
Now you're ready to very carefully cut out all of these pieces. | 0:05:35 | 0:05:40
Then we can stick all of our pieces onto our starry sky background. | 0:05:47 | 0:05:54
It looks like our rocket is flying through space. | 0:05:54 | 0:05:57
And you can even add on some stars and planets like this. | 0:06:00 | 0:06:04
Now to make our rocket really stand out, | 0:06:04 | 0:06:07
we can stick on some stickers for windows. | 0:06:07 | 0:06:10
So, Alice, stick on these red ones first, I think. | 0:06:10 | 0:06:15
Very good. I'm going to take that now and add some smaller stickers. | 0:06:19 | 0:06:25
There. Now let's bring back in our lid. | 0:06:27 | 0:06:32
We're going to put some glue along this edge here. | 0:06:32 | 0:06:35
-Can you help me, please, Alice? -Yes. -Grab some glue. | 0:06:35 | 0:06:39
That's it. | 0:06:39 | 0:06:41
That's it, round there. Well done. And now we can stick it on. | 0:06:47 | 0:06:53
We've finished our wonderful window picture. | 0:06:56 | 0:06:59
And you can make all kinds of window pictures. | 0:06:59 | 0:07:03
Why not try an underwater window picture | 0:07:03 | 0:07:06
with fish swimming in the sea? | 0:07:06 | 0:07:08
You could use smaller lids to make the windows on a paper plane. | 0:07:08 | 0:07:12
Why don't you try a window picture today? | 0:07:12 | 0:07:15
-Well, did you enjoy that, Alice? -Yes. -Brilliant! We made it. | 0:07:15 | 0:07:20
And now your home is where the art is. High five! | 0:07:20 | 0:07:23
What a wonderful window picture! Well done. Alice! Bye! | 0:07:25 | 0:07:30
BEEPS HORN | 0:07:30 | 0:07:32
Ah! Lovely! | 0:07:32 | 0:07:34
It's brilliant being out and about in the Makermobile. | 0:07:34 | 0:07:37
There's always so much to see and do. | 0:07:37 | 0:07:40
LAUGHTER | 0:07:40 | 0:07:42
What's that noise? | 0:07:42 | 0:07:44
Ho-ho! Guess who that is! | 0:07:44 | 0:07:48
-Wee! -Waah! -Wee! | 0:07:50 | 0:07:54
# I am a shape | 0:07:55 | 0:07:59
# I am a shape | 0:08:01 | 0:08:03

# I am a shape | 0:08:43 | 0:08:45
# I am a circle. # | 0:08:51 | 0:08:54
What are the circles making today? | 0:08:56 | 0:08:59
Any ideas? | 0:09:04 | 0:09:06
It's a hippo! | 0:09:07 | 0:09:09
Well done, shapes! It's time to get back in the doodle drawers. | 0:09:09 | 0:09:15
Hee-hee-hee! | 0:09:19 | 0:09:21
BEEPS HORN | 0:09:21 | 0:09:23
I'm out in the fresh air, having a drive in the Makermobile. | 0:09:25 | 0:09:29
-There's nowhere else I'd rather be. -Minute Make Time! | 0:09:29 | 0:09:34
Hey, it's Minute Make Time! I'm on my way! | 0:09:34 | 0:09:38
I've arrived. | 0:09:49 | 0:09:52
-It's Minute Make Time, everyone! -ALL: Yay! | 0:09:57 | 0:10:01
Who likes to bounce? I do! | 0:10:01 | 0:10:06
Come on, everyone! Bounce! Bounce! Are you bouncing? | 0:10:06 | 0:10:10
Brilliant bouncing, everyone! | 0:10:10 | 0:10:12
Who else likes to bounce? This bouncy egg bug! | 0:10:12 | 0:10:17
Look at him! This bouncy egg bug is great fun to play with | 0:10:17 | 0:10:21
or to just hang around the house. | 0:10:21 | 0:10:24
We can make it in just one minute by using these things. | 0:10:24 | 0:10:28
A piece of thin elastic, some coloured wool, some scissors, | 0:10:28 | 0:10:33
some stickers, some sticky tape | 0:10:33 | 0:10:36
and a plastic egg or a capsule that splits into two halves. | 0:10:36 | 0:10:40
You might want to ask an adult to help you find one | 0:10:40 | 0:10:43
because they come in all different shapes and sizes. | 0:10:43 | 0:10:48
Do you think it's possible to make this bouncy egg bug in a minute? | 0:10:48 | 0:10:54
-No way! -I think I can, but I'm going to have to be quick. | 0:10:54 | 0:11:00
-I'll remind you how to do it at the end. Are you ready? -Yes! | 0:11:00 | 0:11:06
Are you ready? Brilliant! Let's make it in a minute! | 0:11:06 | 0:11:11
-Three, two, one, go! -Start the clock! | 0:11:11 | 0:11:15
Let's open up our plastic egg and get a thin piece of elastic | 0:11:15 | 0:11:19
and then stick it in like that. | 0:11:19 | 0:11:23
We need to get our wool and fold it in half and then half again | 0:11:24 | 0:11:30
and place on top of the egg and get the other half and close it shut. | 0:11:30 | 0:11:36
We need to get our scissors. We need to be careful because they are... | 0:11:36 | 0:11:40
-Sharp! -That's right. We're going to snip these loops. | 0:11:40 | 0:11:44
There's one, there's two. There's another one. | 0:11:44 | 0:11:47
This will give us eight legs for our bouncy bug. | 0:11:47 | 0:11:50
We need to give him a face. Let's get some stickers. | 0:11:50 | 0:11:54
There's an eye and let's get another one. | 0:11:54 | 0:11:58
I think this will look really good if you've got some purple stickers. | 0:11:58 | 0:12:02
These can be pupils. There's one on there. | 0:12:02 | 0:12:05
And now another one there. | 0:12:05 | 0:12:08
We've got enough time to put a mouth on with one more sticker. | 0:12:08 | 0:12:13
And we've got a bouncy egg bug! | 0:12:13 | 0:12:17
Ha-ha! Phew! I made it. Just. | 0:12:17 | 0:12:20
If you've got more than a minute, you can try some different ideas. | 0:12:20 | 0:12:24
How about this one with straws for legs and antennae? | 0:12:24 | 0:12:29
Or this really spotty one with long woolly legs? | 0:12:29 | 0:12:34
Or you could try this glittery one with pipe cleaners for legs. | 0:12:34 | 0:12:39
Egg-sellent bouncy egg bugs made in a minute. | 0:12:39 | 0:12:44
Why don't you try it? Here's a reminder of how to do it. | 0:12:44 | 0:12:48
Let's go back to the beginning. | 0:12:48 | 0:12:51
Tape a piece of elastic inside one half of the egg, | 0:12:51 | 0:12:55
fold the wool in half twice, trap it between the two halves of the egg. | 0:12:55 | 0:13:00
Cut the looped ends of the wool, add stickers for eyes and a mouth. | 0:13:00 | 0:13:06
And your egg bug is finished. | 0:13:06 | 0:13:09
Why don't you try and make it in a minute? | 0:13:11 | 0:13:14
It's time for me to bounce out of here. | 0:13:14 | 0:13:16
Thanks for being part of another Minute Make! | 0:13:16 | 0:13:20
-Goodbye. -Bye! | 0:13:20 | 0:13:23
BEEPS HORN | 0:13:23 | 0:13:26
I wonder where we're off to next. | 0:13:26 | 0:13:29
Hello, Mister Maker. | 0:13:29 | 0:13:32
-Oh, nice to see you. -Can you guess what we're making today? | 0:13:32 | 0:13:36
What are they going to make? | 0:13:36 | 0:13:39
I am orange. | 0:13:43 | 0:13:45
I am yellow. | 0:13:48 | 0:13:51
I am red. | 0:13:53 | 0:13:56
I am black. | 0:14:01 | 0:14:04
I am peach. | 0:14:04 | 0:14:06
I am brown. | 0:14:09 | 0:14:11
-ALL: It's a turkey! -Well done, everyone! See you next time. | 0:14:25 | 0:14:29
Hello. Are you ready for a big surprise? | 0:14:32 | 0:14:36
I've got a treat for these Mini Makers. | 0:14:38 | 0:14:41
Are you ready to give them a big surprise? Let's go. | 0:14:41 | 0:14:45
-Hello. -Mister Maker! -It's lovely to meet you. | 0:14:45 | 0:14:51
-Would you like to go on an exciting journey? -Yes! | 0:14:51 | 0:14:56
-I think we should build a big hot air balloon. Will you help me? -Yes! | 0:14:56 | 0:15:01
All right, Ashika, Lois, Joshua, Charlie and Mya, let's make it! | 0:15:01 | 0:15:06
We're making a big hot air balloon. What does it look like? | 0:15:06 | 0:15:12
You have this big balloon to float you up. | 0:15:12 | 0:15:16
-You have a basket to stand in. -The basket. We've got to make a basket. | 0:15:16 | 0:15:21
-What can we make a basket from? -An old flower pot. | 0:15:21 | 0:15:26
-What do you think, Charlie? -A cup. | 0:15:26 | 0:15:29
-Now, where is our hot air balloon going to float? -The sky. -In the sky. | 0:15:29 | 0:15:34
-What else do we see floating in the sky? -Clouds. | 0:15:34 | 0:15:38
-What can we use to make clouds? -This! Cotton wool! -Cotton wool. | 0:15:38 | 0:15:44
-All right, Mini Makers, I think we're ready. -Yes! -Let's make it! | 0:15:44 | 0:15:49
I'm making a basket. | 0:15:51 | 0:15:53
We're making the balloons. | 0:15:58 | 0:16:02
And these are the clouds. | 0:16:04 | 0:16:06
And now we'll need a blue sky. | 0:16:12 | 0:16:15
That's it! Woo! This big surprise has been great fun so far. | 0:16:16 | 0:16:21
Why don't you join in and make your very own Mini Make? | 0:16:21 | 0:16:24
Try making a hot air balloon to play with and have fun with. | 0:16:26 | 0:16:32
You will need strips of card, a glue stick, a clean plastic pot, | 0:16:32 | 0:16:38
some wool, scissors, and sticky tape. | 0:16:38 | 0:16:41
Place the strips of coloured card on top of each other in a star shape. | 0:16:41 | 0:16:48
Then tape them together. | 0:16:48 | 0:16:52
Now lay different coloured strips on top, like this. | 0:16:53 | 0:16:58
And tape them down. | 0:17:01 | 0:17:04
Gather up the ends of all the strips | 0:17:04 | 0:17:09
and tape them together to make a balloon shape. | 0:17:09 | 0:17:13
Then, take the empty plastic pot | 0:17:17 | 0:17:19
and glue four pieces of wool around the outside for decoration. | 0:17:19 | 0:17:24
Take four long pieces of wool, make sure they're the same length | 0:17:28 | 0:17:33
and tape them to the inside of the pot. | 0:17:33 | 0:17:36
Now take the other ends of the wool and stick them | 0:17:37 | 0:17:40
inside the balloon like this. Stick another piece of wool | 0:17:40 | 0:17:45
to the top of the balloon and it's ready to hang up! | 0:17:45 | 0:17:47
Your hot air balloon is finished and ready to play with. | 0:17:47 | 0:17:52
It can even take passengers. Hold on tight, Teddy! | 0:17:52 | 0:17:56
Why don't you try to make that lovely little balloon? | 0:17:58 | 0:18:02
Let's see how our Mini Makers are getting on. | 0:18:02 | 0:18:06
You're being floaty clouds! Well, be floaty! Come on, float away! | 0:18:06 | 0:18:12
-Finished, Mister Maker! -Well done, everyone! We made it! | 0:18:22 | 0:18:28
Yay! | 0:18:28 | 0:18:31 | |
What brilliant balloons, floating in the sky. | 0:18:34 | 0:18:39
Mister Maker, time to go! | 0:18:41 | 0:18:45
That's it for now. | 0:18:45 | 0:18:47
My making time's over, but yours is just beginning. | 0:18:47 | 0:18:50
It's time to put the Makermobile back in its box. | 0:18:50 | 0:18:54
