Hello, there. This is the Makermobile | 0:00:47 | 0:00:50
and we're out for a drive. | 0:00:50 | 0:00:52
I wonder what we're going to see today? | 0:00:52 | 0:00:55
Tocky here. Mini Maker message. | 0:00:55 | 0:00:59
Hello, I'm Zophia. | 0:00:59 | 0:01:01
Hello, Zophia. Can I help you today? | 0:01:01 | 0:01:03
Yes, please, Mister Maker. | 0:01:03 | 0:01:06
I'll be right with you. | 0:01:06 | 0:01:07
This must be the place. | 0:01:23 | 0:01:26
Hello, Zophia. Lovely to meet you. Now, how can I help you today? | 0:01:29 | 0:01:34
Can we make a picture using something from my garden? | 0:01:34 | 0:01:37
That's a great idea. Let's see what we can find. | 0:01:37 | 0:01:41
Wow, you've got a lovely garden, Zophia. | 0:02:00 | 0:02:03
And all of these things we collected have given me a great idea. | 0:02:03 | 0:02:07
Let's try something. | 0:02:07 | 0:02:11
Try making a marvellous, messy creature, | 0:02:11 | 0:02:15
using leaves, grass, petals and things from the garden. | 0:02:15 | 0:02:19
BOTH: Let's make it! | 0:02:19 | 0:02:20
But, first, we'll need somewhere to make it. | 0:02:20 | 0:02:24
And we'll also need some things from the Doodle Drawers. | 0:02:27 | 0:02:31
I'll be back soon. | 0:02:31 | 0:02:32
A big bowl and some gloopy PVA glue. | 0:02:35 | 0:02:38
Some paint. | 0:02:42 | 0:02:44
A large sheet of card or paper. | 0:02:47 | 0:02:50
Hmm, we also need a spoon. I wonder if Scraps has got one? | 0:02:53 | 0:02:57
HORN TOOTS | 0:02:57 | 0:03:00
Oh, hello, Scraps. Now, my friend, we need a spoon. Can you help? | 0:03:00 | 0:03:05
Oh, good. | 0:03:05 | 0:03:07
Oh, well done, Scraps. That's the perfect spoon. | 0:03:10 | 0:03:13
-Were you baking a cake down there? -SCRAPS MUMBLES EXCITEDLY | 0:03:13 | 0:03:17
Excellent! I'll have a slice of that later. Thank you, Scraps. | 0:03:17 | 0:03:21
Ha-Ha! Wahey! | 0:03:21 | 0:03:23
We also need some googly eyes. | 0:03:23 | 0:03:26
You can find them in an arts and crafts shop. | 0:03:26 | 0:03:29
I'll be back very soon. | 0:03:29 | 0:03:31
In fact, I'll be back before you can count to four. Go! | 0:03:31 | 0:03:35
One, two, three... | 0:03:35 | 0:03:39
Four! I told you I'd be quick, didn't I? | 0:03:39 | 0:03:43
Ha-ha! Here are our googly eyes. | 0:03:43 | 0:03:47
I'm going to just take one out, just for now, and put it down here. | 0:03:47 | 0:03:54
All right, Zophia, let's make a messy creature, like this one here. | 0:03:54 | 0:03:59
It's a messy elephant. | 0:03:59 | 0:04:01
-All right, then, Zophia, are you ready? -Yes. -Brilliant! | 0:04:03 | 0:04:07
Are YOU ready? Fantastic! Let's get making. | 0:04:07 | 0:04:10
The first thing we'll do is make a very special mixture in a bowl. | 0:04:10 | 0:04:16
This mixture is made up of half gloopy glue... | 0:04:16 | 0:04:20
..and half paint. | 0:04:27 | 0:04:30
We need to give this a good stir. | 0:04:30 | 0:04:32
-So will you help me, Zophia? -Yes. | 0:04:32 | 0:04:35
Excellent. There's the bowl. | 0:04:35 | 0:04:37
Here's a spoon. | 0:04:37 | 0:04:39
Get stirring. | 0:04:39 | 0:04:40
Super stirring, Zophia! Well done. | 0:04:43 | 0:04:45
Now, we can use everything | 0:04:45 | 0:04:48
that we found in your garden. | 0:04:48 | 0:04:51
We've got lots of leaves, and some twigs. | 0:04:51 | 0:04:54
Remember to ask an adult to help you find them. | 0:04:54 | 0:04:57
OK, Zophia, I'm going to pass this over to you. | 0:04:57 | 0:05:01
Now can you start putting those bits | 0:05:01 | 0:05:04
into the gloopy mixture? | 0:05:04 | 0:05:06
Give it a stir. Very good! | 0:05:06 | 0:05:08
Oh, can I have a go as well? Ha-ha! | 0:05:08 | 0:05:12
Now it's time to make a mess! | 0:05:16 | 0:05:19
It's a really good idea, for this one, | 0:05:19 | 0:05:22
to put on some old clothes or an apron. | 0:05:22 | 0:05:25
So, come on,Zophia. Follow me. | 0:05:25 | 0:05:28
Ha-ha! We look good! | 0:05:28 | 0:05:30
It's now time to bring in our | 0:05:30 | 0:05:32
large sheet of card and, somehow, | 0:05:32 | 0:05:34
we've got to get all of that | 0:05:34 | 0:05:36
gloopy mixture onto the middle here. | 0:05:36 | 0:05:39
How are you going to do that? | 0:05:39 | 0:05:41
With my hands. | 0:05:41 | 0:05:42
With your hands?! | 0:05:42 | 0:05:43
-Yeah. -Go on, then. | 0:05:43 | 0:05:45
Get a big handful and put it on the middle. That's it. Go on. | 0:05:45 | 0:05:51
Well done! That's very good. | 0:05:51 | 0:05:56
Now we're going to use our spoon | 0:05:56 | 0:05:59
to make an animal shape. | 0:05:59 | 0:06:02
And then we'll leave it to dry. | 0:06:02 | 0:06:04
OK, our elephant is dry, | 0:06:09 | 0:06:12
and we've got nice clean hands now, haven't we? | 0:06:12 | 0:06:15
Yes. | 0:06:15 | 0:06:16 | |
Now let's give it an eye. | 0:06:16 | 0:06:18
We've finished. It's a marvellous, messy creature picture. | 0:06:23 | 0:06:27
And you can make all kinds of messy pictures. | 0:06:27 | 0:06:31
How about a messy monster with spots and sharp teeth? | 0:06:31 | 0:06:35
Or even a messy hedgehog with twiggy spikes? | 0:06:38 | 0:06:41
Messy creatures! | 0:06:41 | 0:06:42
Have lots of fun making pictures using things from the garden. | 0:06:42 | 0:06:46
Just don't make too much mess! | 0:06:46 | 0:06:48
Now that was great fun. Did you enjoy that? | 0:06:48 | 0:06:51
-Yes. -Brilliant. We made it! | 0:06:51 | 0:06:53
And now YOUR home is where the art is. | 0:06:53 | 0:06:56
High five! | 0:06:56 | 0:06:58
What a marvellous, messy creature. | 0:06:58 | 0:07:02
Well done, Zophia. Bye! | 0:07:02 | 0:07:04
Oh, it's brilliant being out and about in the Makermobile. | 0:07:04 | 0:07:09
There's always so much to see and do. And... | 0:07:09 | 0:07:13
RATTLING | 0:07:13 | 0:07:15
What's that noise? | 0:07:15 | 0:07:18
Who could it be? | 0:07:18 | 0:07:19
# I am a Shape La-la la-la | 0:07:27 | 0:07:30
# I am a Shape La-la la-la | 0:07:32 | 0:07:34
# I am a circle | 0:07:36 | 0:07:38
# I am a triangle | 0:07:40 | 0:07:43
# I am a square | 0:07:45 | 0:07:47
# I am a rectangle | 0:07:51 | 0:07:53
# I am a Shape | 0:08:00 | 0:08:02
# I am a Shape | 0:08:05 | 0:08:07
# I am a Shape | 0:08:10 | 0:08:12
# I am a Shape | 0:08:15 | 0:08:17
# I am a rectangle. # | 0:08:22 | 0:08:26
What are the rectangles making? | 0:08:29 | 0:08:31
Can YOU guess? | 0:08:39 | 0:08:41
It's a racing car. | 0:08:41 | 0:08:43
Well done, Shapes. | 0:08:43 | 0:08:45
It's time to get back in the Doodle Drawers. | 0:08:45 | 0:08:49
Oh, this is a lovely day for a drive, | 0:08:56 | 0:08:59
-out in the Makermobile, isn't it? -Waah! | 0:08:59 | 0:09:02
It's minute-make time! | 0:09:02 | 0:09:04
Hey, it's minute-make time! | 0:09:04 | 0:09:07
I'm on my way. | 0:09:07 | 0:09:09
Here we are. | 0:09:21 | 0:09:23
It's minute-make time, everyone! | 0:09:29 | 0:09:32
-TRUMPET BLOWS -Ooh! | 0:09:32 | 0:09:35
Woo! Ha-ha! | 0:09:35 | 0:09:37
I am King Maker of Makerland! | 0:09:37 | 0:09:40
Hello. Hello. | 0:09:42 | 0:09:43
And one has only one rule in Makerland, | 0:09:43 | 0:09:47
and that's that everyone gets to make something in one minute. | 0:09:47 | 0:09:52
Yes, and today, we're going to make this very royal crown. | 0:09:52 | 0:09:56
And here's what we'll need. | 0:09:58 | 0:10:00
Some cotton wool. Some scissors. | 0:10:00 | 0:10:03
A long piece of coloured paper. Some gloopy glue. | 0:10:03 | 0:10:07
Some glitter. Some sticky tape. | 0:10:07 | 0:10:10
And we'll also need to put some paper down first, | 0:10:10 | 0:10:13
because this can get a little bit messy! | 0:10:13 | 0:10:16
Now, do you think it's possible to make this crown... | 0:10:16 | 0:10:21
in just one minute? | 0:10:21 | 0:10:22
ALL: No way! | 0:10:22 | 0:10:24
Well, let's find out. I'm going to have to be VERY quick! | 0:10:24 | 0:10:28
But, don't worry, I'll remind you how to do it at the end. | 0:10:28 | 0:10:32
-Are you ready? -ALL: Yes! | 0:10:32 | 0:10:34
Are YOU ready? Brilliant! | 0:10:34 | 0:10:36
Let's make it in a minute. | 0:10:36 | 0:10:38
Three, two, one. Go! | 0:10:38 | 0:10:41
Start the clock. | 0:10:41 | 0:10:42
Let's get our coloured paper. | 0:10:42 | 0:10:45
We'll roll it up all the way. | 0:10:45 | 0:10:47
Then we get our scissors. | 0:10:47 | 0:10:49
Careful with them, because they are... | 0:10:49 | 0:10:52
ALL: Sharp! | 0:10:52 | 0:10:53
Right. And I'll cut out some triangle shapes. | 0:10:53 | 0:10:56
There we go. Round and round. | 0:10:56 | 0:10:59
And one more, like that. | 0:10:59 | 0:11:03
Now, if we open this up, it's just about | 0:11:03 | 0:11:05
starting to take shape. | 0:11:05 | 0:11:07
Now for some gloopy glue. | 0:11:07 | 0:11:09
Let's put a line of gloopy glue along the bottom | 0:11:09 | 0:11:13
and then a wiggly line here, all over. | 0:11:13 | 0:11:17
Let's put our cotton wool on that bottom line. | 0:11:19 | 0:11:24
Then we'll get some glitter | 0:11:24 | 0:11:26
and shake it all over the gloopy glue. | 0:11:26 | 0:11:29
And we can shake off | 0:11:29 | 0:11:30
the rest of the glitter, like that. | 0:11:30 | 0:11:33
It's looking good. We just need sticky tape now. | 0:11:33 | 0:11:36
If we stick it together, like this, | 0:11:36 | 0:11:39
we've made a fantastic crown! | 0:11:39 | 0:11:42
Just in time. But if you've got | 0:11:44 | 0:11:47
more than a minute, you can try lots of other ideas. | 0:11:47 | 0:11:52
Oh! You can make a crown to wear to a birthday party, | 0:11:52 | 0:11:56
with sparkly stars and shapes. | 0:11:56 | 0:11:58
Ha-ha! Or you can make a crown to wear to a football match, | 0:11:58 | 0:12:02
with stripy fur and dangly footballs. | 0:12:02 | 0:12:06
Ho-ho! Or you could make a sandcastle crown, | 0:12:06 | 0:12:09
with shells and flags on it. | 0:12:09 | 0:12:11
Colourful crowns, made in a minute. Why don't you try it? | 0:12:11 | 0:12:15
Here's a reminder of how to do it. | 0:12:15 | 0:12:18
Let's go back to the beginning and take another look. | 0:12:18 | 0:12:22
Roll up a long piece of paper. | 0:12:22 | 0:12:24
Carefully cut triangle shapes along one edge. | 0:12:24 | 0:12:28
Roll it and squeeze glue along it, like this. | 0:12:28 | 0:12:33
Stick cotton wool along the bottom edge | 0:12:33 | 0:12:35
and pour glitter over the rest of the glue. | 0:12:35 | 0:12:39
Shake it off, tape it together and your royal crown is finished! | 0:12:39 | 0:12:44
Why don't YOU try and make it in a minute? | 0:12:46 | 0:12:49
Now, what's your name, madam? | 0:12:49 | 0:12:52
-Celestine. -Ho-ho-ho, no! | 0:12:52 | 0:12:54
It's Queen Celestine! | 0:12:54 | 0:12:57
-Yeah! -APPLAUSE | 0:12:57 | 0:12:59
It's time for me to go, everyone. | 0:13:00 | 0:13:02
Thank you for being part of the marvellous minute-make. | 0:13:02 | 0:13:06
-Goodbye! -ALL: Bye! | 0:13:06 | 0:13:08
Oh, I love driving the Makermobile. | 0:13:14 | 0:13:17
Where shall we go to next? | 0:13:17 | 0:13:20
Hello, Mister Maker. | 0:13:20 | 0:13:23
Oh, nice to see you. | 0:13:23 | 0:13:24
Can you guess what we're making today? | 0:13:24 | 0:13:27
What ARE they going to make? | 0:13:27 | 0:13:30
I am orange. | 0:13:32 | 0:13:34
I am black. | 0:13:37 | 0:13:38
I'm yellow. | 0:13:41 | 0:13:42
I am brown. | 0:13:45 | 0:13:47
I am green. | 0:13:50 | 0:13:52
ALL: It's a grasshopper. | 0:14:06 | 0:14:08
Well done, everyone. See you next time. | 0:14:08 | 0:14:11
Sssh! It's time for... | 0:14:11 | 0:14:14
a big surprise! | 0:14:14 | 0:14:18
These Mini Makers aren't expecting me. | 0:14:18 | 0:14:21
THEY ALL GIGGLE | 0:14:21 | 0:14:24
-Hello! -ALL: Hi! | 0:14:24 | 0:14:26
Mini Makers, I need your help today. | 0:14:26 | 0:14:28
STOMACH GROWLS | 0:14:28 | 0:14:31
Ooh! Excuse me. | 0:14:31 | 0:14:33
I'm feeling a bit hungry today. I'll tell you why. | 0:14:33 | 0:14:36
I need some food, so I think we should make a big picnic together. | 0:14:36 | 0:14:40
-Does that sound like a good idea? -ALL: Yeah! | 0:14:40 | 0:14:43
Ha-ha! All right, then. Brandon, Kyle, | 0:14:43 | 0:14:46
Jamie-Lee, Lydia, and Sam, let's make it! | 0:14:46 | 0:14:49
Now, Mini Makers, we're going to make a big picnic. | 0:14:49 | 0:14:53
So what food should we make? | 0:14:53 | 0:14:55
Hot dogs! | 0:14:55 | 0:14:57
Milkshakes. | 0:14:57 | 0:14:58
Strawberries. | 0:14:58 | 0:15:00
Oh, strawberries! They'd be nice. | 0:15:00 | 0:15:02
Now, I like pizza. Who likes pizza? | 0:15:02 | 0:15:05
ALL: Me! | 0:15:05 | 0:15:07
We can make the pizza out of that, | 0:15:07 | 0:15:09
paint it and pretend it's cheese on top. | 0:15:09 | 0:15:12
What, this? Yes, this shredded tissue paper will make nice cheese. | 0:15:12 | 0:15:16
Our picnic is going to be really tasty. But where should we eat it? | 0:15:16 | 0:15:21
We could eat it in the park. | 0:15:21 | 0:15:23
What sort of things do you see in a park? | 0:15:23 | 0:15:25
Trees and bushes. | 0:15:25 | 0:15:28
That's right. Trees and bushes, and grass, and the sun. | 0:15:28 | 0:15:32
-I think we're ready, aren't we? -ALL: Yeah! | 0:15:32 | 0:15:35
Come on, let's make it! | 0:15:35 | 0:15:37
Jamie-Lee is making pizza. | 0:15:37 | 0:15:41
Kyle's making cupcakes. | 0:15:41 | 0:15:44
And here's the park. | 0:15:44 | 0:15:47
We're making the flowers. | 0:15:47 | 0:15:49
And this is a nice blue sky. | 0:15:55 | 0:15:57
Look, Mini Makers, the sun is up. | 0:16:00 | 0:16:03
So we need somewhere to have our picnic. Go on, then. Off we go. | 0:16:03 | 0:16:08
This big surprise has been great fun so far. | 0:16:08 | 0:16:11
So why don't YOU join in and make your very own Mini Make? | 0:16:11 | 0:16:16
