And all of these things we collected have given me a great idea.

Let's try something.

Try making a marvellous, messy creature,

using leaves, grass, petals and things from the garden.

But, first, we'll need somewhere to make it.

And we'll also need some things from the Doodle Drawers.

A big bowl and some gloopy PVA glue.

Some paint.

A large sheet of card or paper.

Hmm, we also need a spoon. I wonder if Scraps has got one?

Oh, well done, Scraps. That's the perfect spoon.

-Were you baking a cake down there?

Four! I told you I'd be quick, didn't I?

Ha-ha! Here are our googly eyes.

I'm going to just take one out, just for now, and put it down here.

All right, Zophia, let's make a messy creature, like this one here.

It's a messy elephant.

-All right, then, Zophia, are you ready?

-Yes.

-Brilliant!

Are YOU ready? Fantastic! Let's get making.

The first thing we'll do is make a very special mixture in a bowl.

This mixture is made up of half gloopy glue...

..and half paint.

We need to give this a good stir.

-So will you help me, Zophia?

-Yes.

Excellent. There's the bowl.

Here's a spoon.

Get stirring.

Super stirring, Zophia! Well done.

Now, we can use everything

that we found in your garden.

We've got lots of leaves, and some twigs.

Remember to ask an adult to help you find them.

OK, Zophia, I'm going to pass this over to you.

Now can you start putting those bits

into the gloopy mixture?

Give it a stir. Very good!

Oh, can I have a go as well? Ha-ha!

Now it's time to make a mess!

It's a really good idea, for this one,

to put on some old clothes or an apron.

So, come on,Zophia. Follow me.

Ha-ha! We look good!

It's now time to bring in our

large sheet of card and, somehow,

we've got to get all of that

gloopy mixture onto the middle here.

How are you going to do that?

With my hands.

With your hands?!

-Yeah.

-Go on, then.

Get a big handful and put it on the middle. That's it. Go on.

Well done! That's very good.

Now we're going to use our spoon

to make an animal shape.

And then we'll leave it to dry.

OK, our elephant is dry,

and we've got nice clean hands now, haven't we?

Yes.

Now let's give it an eye.

We've finished. It's a marvellous, messy creature picture.

And you can make all kinds of messy pictures.

How about a messy monster with spots and sharp teeth?

Or even a messy hedgehog with twiggy spikes?

Messy creatures!

Have lots of fun making pictures using things from the garden.

Just don't make too much mess!

I'm on my way.

Here we are.

It's minute-make time, everyone!

-Ooh!

Woo! Ha-ha!

I am King Maker of Makerland!

Hello. Hello.

And one has only one rule in Makerland,

and that's that everyone gets to make something in one minute.

Yes, and today, we're going to make this very royal crown.

And here's what we'll need.

Some cotton wool. Some scissors.

A long piece of coloured paper. Some gloopy glue.

Some glitter. Some sticky tape.

And we'll also need to put some paper down first,

because this can get a little bit messy!

Now, do you think it's possible to make this crown...

in just one minute?

ALL: No way!

Well, let's find out. I'm going to have to be VERY quick!

But, don't worry, I'll remind you how to do it at the end.

-Are you ready?

-ALL: Yes!

Are YOU ready? Brilliant!

Let's make it in a minute.

Three, two, one. Go!

Start the clock.

Let's get our coloured paper.

We'll roll it up all the way.

Then we get our scissors.

Careful with them, because they are...

ALL: Sharp!

Right. And I'll cut out some triangle shapes.

There we go. Round and round.

And one more, like that.

Now, if we open this up, it's just about

starting to take shape.

Now for some gloopy glue.

Let's put a line of gloopy glue along the bottom

and then a wiggly line here, all over.

Let's put our cotton wool on that bottom line.

Then we'll get some glitter

and shake it all over the gloopy glue.

And we can shake off

the rest of the glitter, like that.

It's looking good. We just need sticky tape now.

If we stick it together, like this,

we've made a fantastic crown!

Just in time. But if you've got

more than a minute, you can try lots of other ideas.

Oh! You can make a crown to wear to a birthday party,

with sparkly stars and shapes.

Ha-ha! Or you can make a crown to wear to a football match,

with stripy fur and dangly footballs.

Ho-ho! Or you could make a sandcastle crown,

with shells and flags on it.

Colourful crowns, made in a minute. Why don't you try it?

Here's a reminder of how to do it.

Let's go back to the beginning and take another look.

Roll up a long piece of paper.

Carefully cut triangle shapes along one edge.

Roll it and squeeze glue along it, like this.

Stick cotton wool along the bottom edge

and pour glitter over the rest of the glue.

Shake it off, tape it together and your royal crown is finished!

Mini Makers, I need your help today.

Ooh! Excuse me.

I'm feeling a bit hungry today. I'll tell you why.

I need some food, so I think we should make a big picnic together.

-Does that sound like a good idea?

-ALL: Yeah!

Ha-ha! All right, then. Brandon, Kyle,

Jamie-Lee, Lydia, and Sam, let's make it!

Now, Mini Makers, we're going to make a big picnic.

So what food should we make?

Hot dogs!

Milkshakes.

Strawberries.

Oh, strawberries! They'd be nice.

Now, I like pizza. Who likes pizza?

ALL: Me!

We can make the pizza out of that,

paint it and pretend it's cheese on top.

What, this? Yes, this shredded tissue paper will make nice cheese.

Our picnic is going to be really tasty. But where should we eat it?

We could eat it in the park.

What sort of things do you see in a park?

Trees and bushes.

That's right. Trees and bushes, and grass, and the sun.

-I think we're ready, aren't we?

-ALL: Yeah!

Come on, let's make it!

Jamie-Lee is making pizza.

Kyle's making cupcakes.

And here's the park.

We're making the flowers.

And this is a nice blue sky.

Look, Mini Makers, the sun is up.

So we need somewhere to have our picnic. Go on, then. Off we go.

This big surprise has been great fun so far.

So why don't YOU join in and make your very own Mini Make?

Try making a lunchbox with a tasty-looking sandwich inside

for you to play with and have fun with.

You will need a plastic fruit container, some water,

coloured tissue paper,

kitchen sponges, plastic lids,

glue, a napkin and a piece of craft foam,

scissors and a paintbrush.

First, mix the gloopy glue and the water together.

Now take a plastic container with a lid and use the gloopy mixture

to stick torn pieces of tissue paper all over it.

When it's dry, stick a napkin, or some tissue paper, inside.

Now glue the piece of craft foam on for a handle.

To make a sandwich, take some kitchen sponges.

Carefully cut them into triangles for the bread and fillings.

Spread glue onto a triangle shape.

Yellow sponges look good as bread.

Now add your fillings.

Green tissue for lettuce.

An orange sponge triangle for cheese.

Bottle tops for cucumber.

And a pink sponge triangle for ham.

In fact, you can use any fillings you like.

When you're happy, stick another yellow sponge triangle

on top to finish your sandwich and put it into the lunchbox.

Your lunchbox and sandwich are ready to play with.

They almost look good enough to eat!

Why don't YOU try to make that lovely little lunchbox?

But, right now, let's see how our Mini Makers are getting on.

Oh, what lovely trees! Right, I'll just get the others.
