Yeah!

0:01:470:01:50

Hello, Scrappz, my friend. It's great to see you.

0:01:500:01:53

-Now, what do you think we should make our party about today?

-Er...

0:01:530:01:58

Yes, you have a think. Have you got any ideas?

0:01:580:02:01

Come on, then, Mini Makers. Over here, over you come.

0:02:010:02:04

Now we're going to show you some clues.

0:02:040:02:07

See if you can guess what our party is going to be about today.

0:02:070:02:13

-What is it? Shout out if you know the answer.

-A boat.

0:02:130:02:17

-A surfer.

-Ooh!

0:02:170:02:20

-Fish.

-A fish.

0:02:200:02:24

A wave.

0:02:240:02:26

And I'll give you one last clue, Mini Makers.

0:02:260:02:29

Have a look at this, Mini Makers, look.

0:02:290:02:33

-What are they?

-Flippers.

0:02:330:02:36

That's right, some flippers.

0:02:360:02:38

-So, Mini Makers, what's our party going to be about today?

-The sea.

0:02:380:02:44

That's right. We're going to have a party all about the sea.

0:02:440:02:49

Scrappz, Scrappz? Where are you?

0:02:490:02:52

Oh, there you are!

0:02:520:02:54

You do like to be beside the seaside, don't you, Scrappz?

0:02:540:02:59

Now, go on. See if you can find some fish. Dive!

0:02:590:03:02

There he goes. OK, then, Mini Makers.

0:03:020:03:05

Now we are going to go down to the sea and make an arty-party picture.

0:03:050:03:10

-Now, what shall we use for our picture?

-Sand.

0:03:100:03:13

-Glue.

-Fish.

-Green seaweed.

0:03:130:03:16

Well done, Mini Makers. Some fantastic ideas there.

0:03:160:03:20

And, in fact, you've just given me a brilliant idea.

0:03:200:03:24

Let's get arty at our party and make a seaside rock pool,

0:03:260:03:30

with blue water, brightly-coloured sea creatures and sand.

0:03:300:03:35

But first, we'll need some things from...

0:03:350:03:38

The Doodle Tube!

0:03:380:03:41

We'll need some card.

0:03:470:03:49

We'll also need some gloopy glue, a brush and some crayons or chalk.

0:03:540:03:59

A toy fish.

0:04:020:04:04

A toy fish? Doodle Tube, this is a sea party. We don't need this.

0:04:040:04:10

There's something fishy going on here.

0:04:100:04:13

Ah, we'll need this.

0:04:160:04:18

Some play sand that you can find in a toy shop.

0:04:180:04:23

And we'll need a pen and some stickers.

0:04:270:04:30

All right, then, Mini Makers. Let's get started.

0:04:300:04:34

Now this can get a little bit messy,

0:04:340:04:36

so it's a good idea to put down some old paper or some newspaper first.

0:04:360:04:41

Now the first thing we're going to do is bring in some cards like this

0:04:410:04:45

and we're going to draw a rock pool shape.

0:04:450:04:48

-That's brilliant.

-Thanks, JP. That's very kind.

0:04:540:04:58

Now, this is going to be a rock pool under the sea,

0:04:580:05:02

-so what shall we put inside?

-Starfish.

0:05:020:05:05

THEY TALK ACROSS EACH OTHER

0:05:050:05:09

Lots of lovely ideas there. I think I'll start with some seaweed.

0:05:090:05:15

There we are.

0:05:150:05:17

-What colour am I using for the seaweed?

-Green.

-That's it, green.

0:05:170:05:24

There we go. Now, what else shall we have swimming around the seaweed?

0:05:240:05:28

-Fish.

-Fish! Yes, let's draw a fish. There we are.

0:05:280:05:33

-This is our fish.

-That's amazing.

0:05:350:05:39

And why not add different-coloured fish and any sea creatures you like.

0:05:450:05:50

A starfish. Now, as it's a rock pool, let's do some waves.

0:05:500:05:55

OK, Mini Makers. Now for the messy bits.

0:05:590:06:02

We need some brush and glue all the way around the outside

0:06:020:06:06

of our picture.

0:06:060:06:07

-Are we going to put sand over it?

-I think we might be, Jacob.

0:06:120:06:17

Lots of glue first, though.

0:06:170:06:20

Next, we need to sprinkle some play sand over the top.

0:06:200:06:24

Thank you very much, Nicole. What a marvellous Mini Maker. Here we go.

0:06:240:06:30

Now we need a tray. Thank you, Jacob. Watch this.

0:06:380:06:43

Very carefully pick up your picture.

0:06:430:06:47

And shake off the sand into the tray.

0:06:470:06:51

Look at that!

0:06:510:06:52

Whoa!

0:06:520:06:54

It's good, isn't it?

0:06:560:06:57

We've got a rock pool with sand all the way around it.

0:06:570:07:01

-Do you like it?

-Yes!

0:07:010:07:04

And we can add some detail to our fish

0:07:040:07:06

and our starfish with some stickers and a pen.

0:07:060:07:09

-We're finished. What do you think?

-Cool!

-Brilliant!

0:07:210:07:25

Brilliant. I'm glad you enjoyed that, because now you're going

0:07:250:07:29

to get your own chance to make your party pictures.

0:07:290:07:32

But, first, you need to put on your...

0:07:320:07:35

Arty aprons!

0:07:350:07:38

Because it's time to...

0:07:390:07:41

ALL: Start the art!

0:07:410:07:45

CHILDREN GIGGLE

0:07:480:07:51

Lots of lovely seaside art, Mini Makers,

0:08:020:08:05

let's have a look at Xander's picture.

0:08:050:08:07

This is brilliant. What's in your rock pool, Xander?

0:08:070:08:11

-A Xander fish.

-A Xander fish?

-Crab.

-A crab.

-And clownfish.

0:08:110:08:16

And a clownfish. Fantastic, well done, Xander.

0:08:160:08:19

Now you keep making with your picture because I wonder,

0:08:190:08:22

has anyone else ever had any arty ideas to do with the sea?

0:08:220:08:27

Let's find out.

0:08:270:08:28

Many years ago, there was a famous artist called Joseph Turner.

0:08:310:08:36

One day, he decided to paint a picture of a very stormy sea,

0:08:360:08:41

which he wanted to make very realistic.

0:08:410:08:44

-Then, he had an amazing idea.

-That's it!

0:08:460:08:51

But first, I need something waterproof to wear.

0:08:510:08:54

Oh, yes, here we go.

0:08:560:08:59

Ha-ha! Man the rigging!

0:08:590:09:02

Believe it or not, some people think Turner strapped himself to

0:09:020:09:06

the mast of a ship during a storm and all the tossing

0:09:060:09:10

and turning gave him some brilliant ideas.

0:09:100:09:12

SEAGULL SQUAWKS

0:09:120:09:14

What are you looking at? I'm not a sardine, you know.

0:09:140:09:18

And with these ideas,

0:09:180:09:19

he painted one of his most famous pictures of a very stormy sea.

0:09:190:09:25

Oh, could someone untie me, please? I'm feeling a bit seasick.

0:09:280:09:33

Oh, I should get a prize for this, you know.

0:09:330:09:36

And they'd call it the Stomach TURNER Prize!

0:09:360:09:40

-Oh...

-SQUAWK!

-Yeah, well, you WOULD say that.

0:09:410:09:44

Wow, so he painted a picture strapped to a mast!

0:09:460:09:50

I guess that's why they call it a MASTerpiece!

0:09:500:09:54

Now, let's see how the Mini Makers are getting on.

0:09:540:09:57

This looks brilliant. Let's have a look at your picture.

0:10:040:10:08

Now, what have you got in here?

0:10:080:10:11

I've got a blue fish and a purple fish and I've got a frog

0:10:110:10:15

and a starfish.

0:10:150:10:17

Ah, and what are these all around here?

0:10:170:10:19

Erm, they're called sea anemones.

0:10:190:10:21

Wow, sea anemones.

0:10:210:10:23

That's brilliant.

0:10:230:10:25

Right, then, Nicole, tell me about your lovely picture.

0:10:310:10:36

I like the sandcastle and I like the seahorse and the heart in it.

0:10:360:10:43

Yes, your rock pool is a heart shape and I love it.

0:10:430:10:47

-Now, Nathan, what are you sprinkling sand onto there?

-A sandcastle.

0:10:510:10:57

Well done, Nathan, and well done Mini Makers,

0:10:570:11:01

you have made some super seaside pictures.

0:11:010:11:05

SNORING

0:11:050:11:07

Do you hear that noise? It sounds like someone's asleep at our party.

0:11:070:11:11

-Who is it, everyone?

-The Shapes!

-That's right, my friends.

0:11:110:11:16

It's the Shapes and I think we should wake them up.

0:11:160:11:19

So, after three, shout, "Wake up," as loud as you can. One, two, three.

0:11:190:11:24

ALL: Wake up!

0:11:240:11:28

Brr!

0:11:280:11:30

Oh!

0:11:310:11:34

Let's dance, everyone.

0:11:380:11:40

# I am a shape

0:11:400:11:43

# I am a shape

0:11:430:11:44

# I am a shape. #

0:11:440:11:47

Scrappz, let's party.

0:11:470:11:50

UPBEAT MUSIC PLAYS

0:11:510:11:54

Come on, Mini Makers, let's all dance with the Shapes.

0:11:540:11:58

# I am a circle

0:11:580:12:00

# Spin around, spin around

0:12:000:12:01

# In a circle on the ground

0:12:010:12:04

# I am a triangle

0:12:050:12:07

# Clap your hands in the air

0:12:070:12:08

# Triangles everywhere

0:12:080:12:12

# I am a square

0:12:120:12:13

# Everybody draw a square

0:12:130:12:15

# Draw it here, draw it there

0:12:150:12:17

# Everybody, draw a square

0:12:170:12:19

# I am a rectangle

0:12:190:12:20

# Bounce, everybody

0:12:200:12:22

# Bounce like you just don't care

0:12:220:12:24

# Bounce, bounce, everybody

0:12:240:12:26

# What's it going to be?

0:12:260:12:28

# Wait and we will see

0:12:280:12:29

# Shape for you and me

0:12:290:12:31

# I am a square. #

0:12:310:12:32

Yay!

0:12:320:12:34

What are the squares making?

0:12:360:12:38

It's a sandcastle.

0:12:500:12:53

Well done, Square, it's time to get back on the shelf.

0:12:530:12:58

Yay!

0:12:580:13:00

THEY SNORE

0:13:040:13:06

It's Scrappz.

0:13:080:13:11

Scrappz's surprise party popper.

0:13:150:13:19

If you want to make a paper-plate stingray like this,

0:13:190:13:23

all you need to do is...

0:13:230:13:26

..colour in a paper plate with a wax crayon...

0:13:270:13:31

..then, colour in a thin triangle of card, as well.

0:13:360:13:39

Bend the plate with both hands, like this...

0:13:420:13:46

..and fold the triangle in half.

0:13:470:13:50

Now stick it to the paper plate to make a tail...

0:13:520:13:56

..add stickers for eyes...

0:13:580:14:00

..and your paper-plate stingray is finished and ready to play with.

0:14:040:14:09

What a brilliant idea, Scrappz.

0:14:090:14:11

You can make any sea creature you like.

0:14:120:14:15

Christopher, tell us about what you've made there, my friend.

0:14:150:14:19

Well, I've made a colourful clam that can open up.

0:14:190:14:23

That's great. Well done, Christopher.

0:14:230:14:26

And, Miriam, what have you made here? Show us.

0:14:260:14:29

I've made a starfish. It has yellow and orange colours.

0:14:290:14:33

Well done, Miriam.

0:14:330:14:35

Then, over here, last, but not least, Joshua,

0:14:350:14:38

-what have we got here?

-A spotty stingray.

-A spotty stingray.

0:14:380:14:43

Just like my waistcoat. Well done, Joshua. And well done, Mini Makers.

0:14:430:14:47

And now for something completely different, jump up and follow me.

0:14:470:14:52

-Follow me, everyone, this way.

-Yeah!

0:14:520:14:55

Mini Makers, you are about to make a brilliant party picture.

0:14:550:14:59

Now have a look at the screen and see

0:14:590:15:01

if you can guess what it's going to be.

0:15:010:15:04

What picture are today's Mini Makers making?

0:15:050:15:09

Any ideas yet?

0:15:200:15:22

What do you think it could be?

0:15:300:15:33

It's a turtle!

0:15:370:15:40

That's right, it's a turtle. Well done, Mini Makers.

0:15:400:15:45

KLAXON BLARES

0:15:450:15:46

You know what that noise means. It's time for...

0:15:460:15:50

-An arty party game!

-Yay!

0:15:500:15:56

So it's over to Party Cam, to find out which

0:15:560:15:59

Mini Makers are playing today.

0:15:590:16:01

-It's Nicole.

-Yeah!

-Who's next?

0:16:050:16:07

-It's Iona.

-Yeah!

-Off you go, Party Cam.

0:16:130:16:18

Who's it going to be?

0:16:180:16:21

-It's James!

-Yeah!

0:16:210:16:23

Last one.

0:16:240:16:26

-It's Xander.

-Yeah!

0:16:280:16:31

Well done, my friends,

0:16:320:16:34

you've been chosen for a very special arty challenge.

0:16:340:16:39

Today's game is called Splish Splash Splosh

0:16:390:16:43

and your arty challenge is to float the good ship Maker

0:16:430:16:46

but, at the moment, there isn't a sea for it to float on,

0:16:460:16:50

so you need to use your brushes

0:16:500:16:52

and your paint to create a beautiful sea for this boat to float on.

0:16:520:16:56

Now, it can get very, very messy, so that's why you're

0:16:560:17:00

wearing your arty suits and we've put down lots of old paper first.

0:17:000:17:05

-Now, Nicole, James, Iona and Xander, do you think you can do it?

-Yeah!

0:17:050:17:11

You must be very quick

0:17:110:17:13

and finish before Scrappz makes this noise...

0:17:130:17:16

FOGHORN BLARES

0:17:160:17:18

Ha-ha, ha-ha!

0:17:180:17:19

Good luck.

0:17:190:17:21

Go!

0:17:210:17:24

Load up those brushes.

0:17:240:17:26

That's it, it looks nice if you mix up some of the colours.

0:17:300:17:35

That looks brilliant.

0:17:360:17:40

Oh, that looks good, look at the white mixing in with the blue.

0:17:400:17:45

Oh, quick, Scrappz is getting ready. We'd better get the boat on.

0:17:480:17:52

Right, brushes down, everyone.

0:17:520:17:54

Come round here. Here we go, let's put it down.

0:17:540:17:57

SPLASH! Very nice.

0:17:570:17:59

FOGHORN

0:17:590:18:00

Just in time! We did it, Mini Makers! Yeah!

0:18:000:18:04

Look at that fantastic picture. A boat on a super sea.

0:18:040:18:09

FOGHORN BLARES

0:18:100:18:12

Well done, everyone, but now it's time to tidy up

0:18:130:18:17

and I'll help you, Mini Makers.

0:18:170:18:19

What a fantastic arty party we've had today. Come on, everyone.

0:18:190:18:23

Right, let's pick this boat up, first of all.

0:18:230:18:27

We've had a super seaside party making sandy rock pools

0:18:270:18:31

and paper-plate creatures.

0:18:310:18:33

We've learned about Joseph Turner's stormy paintings and we've

0:18:330:18:37

splished, splashed and sploshed afloat the good ship Maker.
