It's the perfect place for a party.

Hello, Scrappz! It's great to see you, my friend.

Now, what should we make our party about today?

Hmm...

Hmm, you have a think about it.

Have you got any ideas?

Over you come, Mini Makers. Come on, that's it, over here.

Now, have a look at the screen. We're going to show you some clues.

See if you can guess what our party is going to be about today.

-ALL:

-A tree!

-ALL:

-A palm tree.

Very good.

-ALL:

-A Christmas tree!

-Very snowy.

THEY SHOUT OVER EACH OTHER

And a lovely acacia tree.

And I'm going to give you one last clue, Mini Makers.

-Have you twigged it yet? ALL:

-Yes!

So what's our party going to be about today?

-ALL:

-Trees!

That's right, we're going to have a TREE-mendous tree party.

Whoa! LEAF it out, Scrappz, you look brilliant.

Don't worry, everyone, his BARK is worse than his bite.

Ouch! Scrappz!

Hee-hee-hee-hee!

CHEERING

So let's make a TREE-mendous arty party picture.

-Mini Makers, what should we use today?

-Paper!

Paint!

Crayons!

Coloured card!

Well done, Mini Makers, some great ideas there and, in fact,

that's just given me a brilliant idea.

Let's get arty at our party and SPRUCE the place up with some

brilliantly colourful trees, using real leaves.

But first, we'll need some things from...

-ALL:

-The Doodle Tube!

That's right!

We'll need some lovely leaves.

Some coloured paint.

Some sponges and a wax crayon.

A toy bee.

A toy bee?! No, Doodle Tube, we're after trees, not bees!

You better buzz off!

And we'll also need some coloured card and a glue stick.

Now, the good news, Mini Makers,

is that this can get a little bit messy.

So it's a good idea to put down some newspaper or some old paper first.

And the first thing we need to do now is bring in

some background paper or card.

And this will be the sky for our picture.

But first we need some grass for our tree, so let's take a nice

long strip of green card or paper and tear off a nice long strip.

Now, let's stick this on with some glue.

Let's stick down the grass at the bottom of our picture.

And now we need to start our tree.

So use a crayon to draw the tree shape.

There, we've got the trunk,

we've got the branches.

-What do we need next? ALL:

-Leaves!

The leaves! I have a nice clean leaf here

that I found in the garden.

But, of course, we want really colourful leaves,

so I'm going to paint onto the bobbly side of the leaf

and then print it onto the picture

using small squares of kitchen sponge.

You get lots of paint on and then sponge it onto the leaf.

And if we use lots of bright colours,

it means we'll get a multicoloured leaf print.

There we are, our leaf is all painted

and now we're going to print it on.

I'm going to put it down onto our tree.

Now, it really helps if you use a clean piece of sponge

to print the leaf onto the picture.

Here we go, everyone,

let's peal the leaf away.

-ALL:

-Wow!

-It looks good, doesn't it? ALL:

-Yeah!

Carry on printing leaves until

you're happy with what you've done.

-Do you like the picture, everybody? ALL:

-Yeah!

Because now you get your very own

chance to make an arty party picture.

-Arty aprons! Yeah!

Isaac has started a very colourful tree picture.

What colours of paint have you used?

-Green, blue and silver.

-Very nice.

I like the silver in the middle here.

This is going to be a terrific picture and I wonder,

has anyone else ever had any arty tree ideas?

Berthe Morisot was born in France a long time ago

and was a very talented artist.

By the time she was 23, she was showing off her paintings

at one of the most famous art exhibitions in the world.

Oh, thank you!

In those days the world was very different

and there were some buildings that women

were not supposed to visit.

Oh, I'm running out of places to paint!

Where am I going to go today?

But then she had a brilliant idea.

That's it!

En plein air.

"En plein air" is French for "in the open air"

and is used to describe painting outdoors.

Berthe became well-known as one of the very few women artists

known as impressionists.

She loved to paint people and outdoor scenes like flowers,

gardens, parks, the countryside and trees.

See, I am one of the greatest female impressionists there has ever been!

Oh, and whilst we're on the subject...

All aboard, me hearties!

My painting's PURR-fect.

'Allo, 'allo, 'allo!

See, I am a brilliant female impressionist

in more ways than one.

Wow!

She certainly made an impression there,

just like our Mini Makers are making an impression on us.

Let's see how they're getting on.

Isabel has used a dark coloured paper for the background.

Why did you do that, Isabel?

Because at night-time is when most of the leaves drop at autumn.

Very nice, Isabel. Lots of lovely colours.

It's a very colourful tree at night.

Now Vinnie has not only printed leaves onto his picture,

he's printed something else.

-What is it, Vinnie?

-Pink blossom.

-Pink blossom. And how did you do that?

-I used my fingers.

Very nice indeed. Well done.

I've never seen so many leaves on one picture.

-How many have you got, Dee-Ann?

-One, two, three, four, five, six,

seven, eight, nine, ten.

Ten leaves!

Now Marley has made a very colourful tree, some colourful flowers.

-And how did you draw those?

-With crayons.

Well, they look beautiful.

I can hear snoring. It sounds like someone's asleep at our party.

Scrappz's surprise party popper!

Today, Scrappz is getting help from one of the Mini Makers

to make this lovely leaf face.

Hi, my name's Luca.

If you want to make a really funny leaf face like this one,

it's really simple.

First, you need a blue piece of paper.

Then find a nice, clean leaf

and get some glue and stick it down onto your paper.

And then stick it on.

Then get your white, round stickers

and stick them on for the eyes.

Then you can use black stickers.

And now they look like eyes.

Then get a black felt tip pen and draw a nose...

..and a mouth.

And there you have it!

What a fantastic funny leaf! Thanks, Luca!

And you can make any sort of leaf faces you like.

you need to build some very tall trees to make a wonderful

woodland home for four squirrels

called Sidney, Samantha, Samuel and Bernard.

But of course the difference is,

you're going to make a really big picture

using all of these arty things.

-Now, Dee-Ann, Isaac and Isabel, do you think you can do it? ALL:

-Yeah!

I think so too but you're going to have to be very quick.

You must build your woodland before Scrappz makes this noise.
