Today, I've brought my travelling fete over to Hartlepool

and I'm off to meet some tiddlers.

You have to find your way through a tricky pathway to the other side,

but this maze is absolutely huge.

And also, it's made entirely out of maize.

-Maize is just another word for sweet corn.

Hmm, I'm not very happy about Mr Bloom going into a maze by himself.

He's always losing things.

the pathways, it'll be harvested and we'll have lovely sweet corn.

With the maze pathways flattened, George and Imogen have invited

some of their friends along to explore this fantastic maze.

Mums, dads, tiddlers and cabbages, this maize maze is ready to go.

-So shall we give it a try?

Now we're inside the maze, we've got to find our way

-to the other side.

This could be very tricky indeed.

Shall we go this way?

Oh, dear! How are we going to find our way out?

Yeah, this is the right way. I can smell it!

Oh! This isn't right. We've been here before.

I'm really lost, me.

We just need to go...this way. Or is it that way?

Getting lost is part of the fun with a maze.

Well, I don't like not knowing where I am.

-Look, ha-ha! It's the tiddlers, on that platform.

Maybe they can see the way out from there.

Come on, let's find them.

Hey, wow! You've got a great view from up here.

And I guess it helps you find your way through the maze

-if you can see it from above.

I couldn't see anything down there,

but up here you can see the whole maze.

So what we have to do now is memorize the maze,

so we can find our way out.

-Oh, no, Mr Bloom. We don't need to do that.

A cabbage is always prepared.

Can you hear something?

It's a helicopter!

It's my veggie-copter.

Ha-ha! Well, would you look at that!

By 'eck, Margaret. You do like to be prepared.

Because the veggie-copter is up high,

we can use its camera to guide us out of the maze.

All we need to do is watch the screen on the controls here.

Right. Well, I guess we can give it a go.

-Ho-ho!

-Ha-ha! Let's see if your plan works.

From up high,

the veggie-copter can really see the pattern of the pathway of the maze.

So now, we can see which way to go.

Oh! Let's go...this way.

Thanks to your veggie-copter, we've found our way out of the maize maze.

Yes! And even though being lost can be fun,

I do feel much happier knowing which way to go.

I can remember what we learnt at the maize maze.

We learnt that you can see things better when you're up high.

Oh, yes, because we got lost,

so we used a helicopter and we went up high and then we found our way.

Hey, up high. That's a good thought.

Maybe the Wee MacGregors are hiding somewhere up high.

But how could we look up high? We're not giant veg.

-No, you're not.

Hey, Compo's showing us what you did outside, tiddlers.

We were making a mirror with sticks.

And seeing the clouds and the sky.

-We saw a bird.

-You saw a bird in the mirror?

-So that mirror helped you see all over the place.

Mirrors - we could use mirrors to look up high

and check the places we can't see. I know exactly the thing we need.

-Compo, are you thinking the same?

That's right, a periscope. That helps you see up high.
