My allotment's looking ever so green and gorgeous today.

There's just something missing.

I wonder what it is.

THEY SHOUT

It's the tiddlers! That's what was missing.

Come and sit down!

Now, who have we got today?

Emma, Andy and Adam!

How many tiddlers is that?

That's one...

two...

three!

That's a brilliant number!

It's not too many and it's not too few.

And three's perfect for what I've got in mind.

Now, today we are going to plant some peas!

Yes. Not knobbly knees,

or buzzy-buzzy-buzzy bees,

but tiny, green, round...

ALL: Peas!

Yes! Before we start, what are we going to need?

Some pots.

That's right. Can you see any pots?

-Yeah!

-Yeah! Here's some pots.

Before I use a flowerpot, I like to shout into it -

ready, steady, grow!

-Could you do that?

-Yes.

-Let's get our plant pots ready.

After three. One...

two...

three.

ALL: Ready, steady, grow!

Pop them on the table.

Grab yourselves a trowel, and let's fill them up with some compost.

Eh, and don't forget to firm it down as you go, tiddlers.

I think that's enough, Andy. You've done a good job there.

One for you, Emma.

Now we pop our peas on top of the soil. And then we're done.

SIREN WAILS

Wow! That's Compo's siren.

That means that we've made a mistake.

-What do you think we've done wrong?

-We've not done a hole!

I think you're right, Adam.

We can't just leave our pea on top of the soil like that, can we?

It might not grow properly. So what do you think we need to do, Adam?

-Put a hole in.

-That's right. We need to make a hole, don't we?

So let's see your wiggly-worm fingers.

Give them a good wiggle. Wiggle-wiggle.

We'll dig a really deep hole this time.

So go up into the sky,

and then they dive down and make a big wiggly hole.

-Have you all got a big, deep wiggly hole?

-Really deep!

It's very big.

We must have made another mistake!

Oh, no! What you think we've done wrong this time?

It's because we didn't push it halfway through,

and we pushed it too deep.

That's right. We put our fingers in too deep.

If the hole's too deep, it might not grow properly.

It might use all its energy trying to get to the surface,

-and that would be no good, would it?

-No.

Right, let's think about this.

-First of all, we didn't dig deep enough, did we?

-No.

-And then we dug the hole too deep.

-ALL: Yeah!

-Yeah.

So, I think we need to dig a hole that's just right.

So, let's fill this hole in, eh?

This time, let's hold up our wiggling finger.

How many lines have we got on it? Let's count, shall we?

One...

two...

three.

I think we should dig a hole that's two lines deep.

So here we go. Wiggle-wiggle. Up in the air, Adam. Whee!

And then down into the ground, two lines deep.

Right. So we've got our holes. Let's place our pea inside.

And all you need to do now is cover it up with compost.

And there we go.

Oh! That's made Compo happy, hasn't it?

Eh, but what would make Compostarium even happier?

ALL: Feed him!

That's right, it's feeding time! Come on, tiddlers.
