Listen, they've got
a show coming up. | 0:00:00 | 0:00:00
Right now, here's Newsround. Thh... | 0:00:00 | 0:00:01
Morning, Ricky here
with your Newsround update. | 0:00:17 | 0:00:20
We've got loads for you this
morning so keep watching. | 0:00:20 | 0:00:23
We're starting with football
and yesterday's January transfer | 0:00:23 | 0:00:25
deadline-day which saw
Premier League clubs spending | 0:00:25 | 0:00:28
a record £150 million pounds. | 0:00:28 | 0:00:31
The most expensive move
of the final day was Aubameyang | 0:00:31 | 0:00:37
at £56 million pounds,
joining Arsenal from German | 0:00:37 | 0:00:39
club Borussia Dortmund. | 0:00:39 | 0:00:41
But Arsenal had to
say goodbye to French | 0:00:41 | 0:00:43
striker Olivier Giroud. | 0:00:43 | 0:00:44
He moved to Chelsea
on an 18-month deal for £18m. | 0:00:44 | 0:00:51
Elsewhere, Tottenham
signed Paris St-Germain | 0:00:51 | 0:00:53
winger Lucas Moura for £23 million. | 0:00:53 | 0:00:57
The Brazilian has signed
a contract until 2023. | 0:00:57 | 0:01:05
And Swansea City have re-signed
Andre Ayew for £18 million. | 0:01:08 | 0:01:10
He'd joined West Ham from Swansea
in 2016 but is now returning | 0:01:10 | 0:01:13
to the the team where his brother
Jordan also plays! | 0:01:13 | 0:01:20
a lot happening there. | 0:01:21 | 0:01:22
Millions of tonnes of plastic end up
in the world's oceans each year. | 0:01:22 | 0:01:25
The Government recently announced
big plans to cut all avoidable | 0:01:25 | 0:01:28
plastic waste by 2042. | 0:01:28 | 0:01:29
But that's over 20 years away! | 0:01:29 | 0:01:30
So what's being done now? | 0:01:30 | 0:01:32
Martin's been to meet some
plastic-savvy kids... | 0:01:32 | 0:01:35
We already pay 5p for
plastic carrier bags. | 0:01:35 | 0:01:39
Some places are swapping
plastic straws for paper | 0:01:39 | 0:01:42
ones, and certain shops are
promising to change their packaging. | 0:01:42 | 0:01:46
The aim is to help cut down
the amount of plastic | 0:01:46 | 0:01:49
we use and throw away. | 0:01:49 | 0:01:50
But experts think there's
still so much more we can do. | 0:01:50 | 0:01:58
Plastic bottles are a biggie
because about half of them | 0:01:58 | 0:02:01
still aren't recycled. | 0:02:01 | 0:02:05
That's why I have come
to this school in Dorset | 0:02:05 | 0:02:08
to speak to some kids
who have | 0:02:08 | 0:02:09
come up with a plan. | 0:02:09 | 0:02:10
Meet the Eco-crew. | 0:02:10 | 0:02:11
We care about our planet. | 0:02:11 | 0:02:13
So we came up with an idea. | 0:02:13 | 0:02:15
To stop pollution, we want
our school to become | 0:02:15 | 0:02:18
a plastic free school. | 0:02:18 | 0:02:19
If people put more and more
plastic into the ocean, | 0:02:19 | 0:02:21
it will be there for a very long
time and more plastic will go | 0:02:21 | 0:02:25
into the fish bodies and we would be
able to have any fish any more. | 0:02:25 | 0:02:28
What's the main goal
of the Eco-club? | 0:02:28 | 0:02:31
To see all our coastlines
with no litter at all. | 0:02:31 | 0:02:33
And to see animals being
able to swim freely. | 0:02:33 | 0:02:38
We're off to see one of their ideas. | 0:02:38 | 0:02:44
Look, this means I can
refill my bottle. | 0:02:44 | 0:02:47
They have asked local
shops to let people fill | 0:02:47 | 0:02:50
up their own water bottles for free. | 0:02:50 | 0:02:52
ALL: Can you fill up our bottles? | 0:02:52 | 0:02:53
It should mean fewer people will buy
a plastic bottle which might | 0:02:53 | 0:02:56
just get thrown away. | 0:02:56 | 0:03:00
Thank you. | 0:03:00 | 0:03:01
They've already got 20
places signed up so far. | 0:03:01 | 0:03:04
Great work, guys! | 0:03:04 | 0:03:05
Come back in half an hour when we'll
find out what these kids | 0:03:05 | 0:03:08
in Norway do to recycle plastic. | 0:03:08 | 0:03:12
There's also a full guide
to reducing plastic waste online. | 0:03:12 | 0:03:14
Did you spot the moon last night? | 0:03:14 | 0:03:18
If you did, you saw something very
special, because last night's moon | 0:03:18 | 0:03:21
was a rare "blue blood super moon". | 0:03:21 | 0:03:25
It's when three different lunar
events come at once - | 0:03:25 | 0:03:27
and it's not happened for 150 years. | 0:03:27 | 0:03:29
The moon dazzled star-gazers
around the world. | 0:03:29 | 0:03:31
Let's enjoy some pictures. | 0:03:31 | 0:03:36

Stunning pictures. | 0:04:21 | 0:04:24

about what a blue blood supermoon | 0:04:24 | 0:04:27
is, head online where you can find

While you're there, we're
calling all cat-lovers! | 0:04:29 | 0:04:31
After some rescue shelters said
black cats are unpopular | 0:04:31 | 0:04:33
because they don't look good
in photos, we want | 0:04:33 | 0:04:35
to prove them wrong! | 0:04:35 | 0:04:36
So if you've got a black cat
who you think is the best, | 0:04:36 | 0:04:39
we'd love to see it. | 0:04:39 | 0:04:41
We've got some more cool space
pictures for you this morning. This | 0:04:41 | 0:04:45
is the moment that the Falcon rocket
blasted off from Florida yesterday | 0:04:45 | 0:04:52
carrying a communications satellite.
It's ahead of a more powerful rocket | 0:04:52 | 0:04:56
due to launch next week. | 0:04:56 | 0:04:57
I'm back just after 8.20am. | 0:04:57 | 0:05:01
See you then. | 0:05:01 | 0:05:04 |
