Now the big, exciting, sporting news today is the start of Wimbledon,

The reigning champ, Andy Murray, kicked things off at lunchtime,

Murray had a sore hip but seems to be playing OK.

Laura Robson was the first Brit to lose earlier on, and British

ladies number one Johanna Konta, and French Open Champion Rafael

We've been hearing from some tennis fans about what they're

It is Wimbledon. It is one of the biggest events in the world. I am

very excited to be here at Wimbledon because I have not met any person, I

have only seen them on the TV and it is amazing to see it here. I have

never been here before and it is really different than I imagined in

my head. I like Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer and they are really good and

they are graceful when they hit their shots. I really want to see

Andy Murray because he is number one in the world and I can't wait to see

him play. It is amazing because he is the person when I look up to when

I play tennis and I just want to be like him when I am older. I am going

to see the Rafa Nadal match on Court one and I am going to see a bit of

the Venus Williams match. Isil Roger Federer over their warming up. What?

So that's what the fans are looking forward to.

Now, did you know that nearly 40,000 tennis fans walk

through the turnstiles here at Wimbledon on

So this year at Wimbledon there will be 674 matches played.

And if one match was played a day, it would last for over two years.

Over 54,000 tennis balls will be used during the tournament.

The longest ever match at Wimbledon was in 2010.

It lasted 11 hours and five minutes, over three days.

And as a treat the players were given mashed potatoes

The fastest-ever serve was by Taylor Dent in 2010

That's double the speed limit for a motorway so,

as you can imagine, that's really fast.

At Wimbledon, it's tradition to eat strawberries and cream, and over

the two-week period over 28,000kg will be eaten.

That's the same weight of nearly three elephants.

Wimbledon has its very own hawk, called Rufus,

who flies for one hour every morning of the Championships

Believe it or not, this is Donald Trump.

The US president has put this video on social media.

It's an old clip of him appearing on a wrestling TV show,

but with CNN over the face of his opponent.

Now, CNN is a news organisation in America that he has been

He calls them "fake news" and they make up

Loads of people, including some of his own party,

said this sort of thing is really bad behaviour for a president,

and he shouldn't be doing it, but his supporters say they are just

jokes and they really like his style.

As you may know, Popocatepetl is a big volcano in Mexico,

The ash cloud blew up 2,000 metres above the crater.

There are more than 3,000 volcanos in Mexico, but only 14
