Hi guys, Hayley here with your Tuesday Newsround.

:00:12.:00:14.

But things haven't been so great for these guys lately.

:00:15.:00:20.

Across the UK, their numbers are down, and now there's a threat

:00:21.:00:23.

Well, they're small, brilliant swimmers.

:00:24.:00:34.

They're often paired together for life.

:00:35.:00:35.

And I'm here in the very windy Isle of Mull, as you can see by my hair,

:00:36.:00:41.

to take that boat out to the island of Lunga to see some.

:00:42.:00:47.

Dave, who is a bird expert in Mull, is going to help me find

:00:48.:00:50.

And it's been a long journey, but we finally made it.

:00:51.:01:03.

Just behind us are some beautiful birds.

:01:04.:01:14.

Apart from being beautiful, what's so special about them?

:01:15.:01:17.

Well, these puffins are now in serious trouble.

:01:18.:01:19.

They're on what you call the Red List.

:01:20.:01:21.

One in ten of all puffins come from the UK, so we've got that

:01:22.:01:27.

Elsewhere, places like Iceland and parts of northern Scotland,

:01:28.:01:32.

the puffin colonies have gone, and that's what

:01:33.:01:34.

Why are they on the decline in other parts of the UK?

:01:35.:01:39.

What we think is the biggest decline now is to do with global warming

:01:40.:01:43.

These birds have evolved to catch particular types of fish

:01:44.:01:47.

in particular temperatures of seas, and as the temperature of the sea

:01:48.:01:51.

is rising, those fish are moving further away and out of reach

:01:52.:01:53.

So what can we do in order to protect these puffins?

:01:54.:01:58.

The RSPB has launched Project Puffin, and it is

:01:59.:02:01.

trying to get people to take photographs of the puffins

:02:02.:02:04.

as they come in with the fish that they catch.

:02:05.:02:06.

With that we can work out why there is a problem in other

:02:07.:02:11.

They're just fantastic little characters, aren't they?

:02:12.:02:16.

I mean, just the fact that they look so happy and secure,

:02:17.:02:19.

and yet we know deep down now that they are in trouble.

:02:20.:02:22.

We could really help this bird and keep it looking bright

:02:23.:02:25.

and cheerful and happy, and go on enjoying it for years to come.

:02:26.:02:29.

Well, I think it's time to leave these funny and beautiful birds

:02:30.:02:31.

in peace, but honestly, despite the weather, I could sit

:02:32.:02:34.

Now, on Newsround, we like to get you close to the news,

:02:35.:02:49.

and you don't get much closer to a rocket launch than this.

:02:50.:02:52.

China launched this massive rocket this week to take

:02:53.:02:55.

But launches aren't always as easy as it can seem.

:02:56.:02:59.

This rocket actually failed to get into space.

:03:00.:03:03.

Next, to Chile in South America, where forest fires devastated

:03:04.:03:05.

Well, people there have come up with a new way

:03:06.:03:10.

to replant the forest - and it sounds barking mad.

:03:11.:03:15.

There aren't many dogs who would say no to a nice,

:03:16.:03:17.

But these guys aren't doing this for fun.

:03:18.:03:20.

They are actually helping to plant the trees and flowers.

:03:21.:03:26.

Forest fires ripped through parts of central Chile last year, burning

:03:27.:03:28.

But since March, these border collies, called

:03:29.:03:33.

Summer, Olivia and Daz, have been helping it to recover.

:03:34.:03:37.

Well, the dogs wear a special satchel on their collar

:03:38.:03:44.

When they run, the seeds get spread across the land.

:03:45.:03:49.

TRANSLATION: We could do it ourselves, but we can't do as much.

:03:50.:03:53.

We can walk around three kilometres per day,

:03:54.:03:57.

The dogs, however, can travel 30 or 40 kilometres in one outing.

:03:58.:04:05.

The first signs of life are returning to the forest

:04:06.:04:07.

and people there are hoping that in a few years, it will have

:04:08.:04:10.

It's the fourth of July today - which means it's

:04:11.:04:20.

US Independence Day, America's national day

:04:21.:04:21.

And some people have been celebrating in

:04:22.:04:25.

It's America's famous dish, and sure,

:04:26.:04:32.

But eating 21 burgers in ten minutes?

:04:33.:04:36.

Reigning champ, Molly Schuyler, scoffed the most - and then asked

:04:37.:04:42.

for a chocolate milkshake to wash it down with!

:04:43.:04:47.

Head online to see the UK fast food that's been sent into space.

:04:48.:04:54.

I've got two favourite shows on CBBC.

:04:55.:05:04.

My first one is The Next Step because I love dancing.

:05:05.:05:09.
