Your top stories coming up
in the next few minutes. | 0:00:07 | 0:00:11
We'll introduce the new
species of Orangutan. | 0:00:11 | 0:00:13
Our tips for having
a great Bonfire night! | 0:00:13 | 0:00:16
And the very latest
from the Overwatch World Champs. | 0:00:16 | 0:00:26
First up, in the world
of nature, something really | 0:00:31 | 0:00:33
exciting has happened. | 0:00:33 | 0:00:35
For the first time in nearly 100
years, scientists have discovered | 0:00:35 | 0:00:38
a new species of ape. | 0:00:38 | 0:00:40
BBC reporter Victoria
Gill sent us this. | 0:00:40 | 0:00:50
Introducing the new orangutan. They
live deep in the forests of the | 0:00:52 | 0:00:57
island of Sumatra. Scientists
discovered that they are a new | 0:00:57 | 0:01:00
species. They are different from
other great apes, like gorillas and | 0:01:00 | 0:01:09
chimpanzees.
Until now it was thought there were | 0:01:09 | 0:01:17
two species of orangutan, the
Sumatran and the Borneon. | 0:01:17 | 0:01:28
But this species is another.
The scientists found the species 20 | 0:01:28 | 0:01:36
years ago but have it to study them
close to reveal their secrets. Lots | 0:01:36 | 0:01:43
of tiny but important differences
tell them apart, the sound of their | 0:01:43 | 0:01:48
call, what they eat and they look
different, which the researchers can | 0:01:48 | 0:01:53
measure by looking closely and
comparing size of skulls to other | 0:01:53 | 0:01:56
orangutan species.
It is an amaidsing break through. | 0:01:56 | 0:02:02
There are only seven species, so
adding one to the small list is | 0:02:02 | 0:02:06
spectacular.
But as they have been discovered, | 0:02:06 | 0:02:10
the animals now go to the top of the
list of the most endangered species | 0:02:10 | 0:02:15
in the world. # 00 exist,
conservationists hope that now | 0:02:15 | 0:02:20
people know they are so special
people will act to protect them. | 0:02:20 | 0:02:26
In the Scottish Premiership, Celtic
take on St Johnstone this afternoon. | 0:02:26 | 0:02:28
They'll break their own
record for unbeaten games | 0:02:28 | 0:02:30
if they can avoid defeat. | 0:02:30 | 0:02:32
They're currently on 62
matches without a loss! | 0:02:32 | 0:02:34
Now, lots of you may be
going to a bonfire tonight. | 0:02:34 | 0:02:36
There's lots of displays taking
place all weekend so loads of us | 0:02:36 | 0:02:39
will be enjoying fireworks
and sparklers today and tomorrow | 0:02:39 | 0:02:41
But while they look pretty amazing,
fireworks can travel | 0:02:41 | 0:02:43
at a speed of a racing car -
so they're not to mess around with! | 0:02:43 | 0:02:47
We've got some top tips on how
to keep safe and have fun over | 0:02:47 | 0:02:50
the Bonfire weekend. | 0:02:50 | 0:03:00
Make sure you stand well back from
bonfires and fireworks. | 0:03:08 | 0:03:15
Never touch sparklers or fireworks
without a grown-up being there. | 0:03:15 | 0:03:21
On Bonfire Night keep pets in doors
as they may be scared of the noise. | 0:03:21 | 0:03:27
Wrap up warm and wear your coat,
scarf and hat. | 0:03:27 | 0:03:32
Make sure you are wearing gloves
when holding sparklers and make sure | 0:03:32 | 0:03:36
you get your parents to light them.
Happy Bonfire Night! | 0:03:36 | 0:03:48
And if you want to find out more
about the history of Bonfire Night, | 0:03:48 | 0:03:52
check out Newsround online. | 0:03:52 | 0:03:53
Lots of you are probably
fans of this game! | 0:03:53 | 0:03:55
Yes, it's Overwatch! | 0:03:55 | 0:03:56
The quarter finals of
the Overwatch World Cup | 0:03:56 | 0:03:58
have been taking place
in Los Angeles overnight. | 0:03:58 | 0:04:00
But sadly Team UK haven't made it
through to the semi-finals. | 0:04:00 | 0:04:02
They were beaten three -
one by the team from Sweden, | 0:04:02 | 0:04:05
who will now face Canada
in the semi finals. | 0:04:05 | 0:04:07
The other semi-final
is between France and Korea. | 0:04:07 | 0:04:13
It's been a few days
since Halloween and most | 0:04:13 | 0:04:15
of our pumpkins are now in the bin! | 0:04:15 | 0:04:17
But zoo keepers across the country
have been saving the spooky | 0:04:17 | 0:04:20
treats for their animals. | 0:04:20 | 0:04:21
Here's Martin. | 0:04:21 | 0:04:29
There's no tricks, only treats for
this baby bear enjoying his first | 0:04:29 | 0:04:33
pumpkin. It looks like love at first
sight. With the big cats, keepers at | 0:04:33 | 0:04:41
the zoo have hidden treats inside
this area for the Jaguar. And these | 0:04:41 | 0:04:48
are happy to ciao down au natural!
And creepy maggots! But this pygmy | 0:04:48 | 0:04:56
hedgehog is not complaining. The
worms are lunch! This giant pumpkin | 0:04:56 | 0:05:00
is turning heads at the zoo but just
one animal big enough to take it on. | 0:05:00 | 0:05:09
And these birds are going to town on
the pumpkin seeds. Apparently they | 0:05:09 | 0:05:16
taste delicious to the parrots! | 0:05:16 | 0:05:18
Apparently they taste
delicious to the parrots! | 0:05:18 | 0:05:20
And finally have you heard
the story about the golden | 0:05:20 | 0:05:23
retriever and the leopard cub
being best friends? | 0:05:23 | 0:05:24
No? | 0:05:24 | 0:05:25 | |
Well here it is. | 0:05:25 | 0:05:33
This amur leopard was born at a zoo
in Russia but had to be removed | 0:05:33 | 0:05:36
from her Mum to keep her safe. | 0:05:36 | 0:05:38
Tessa, the dog, who already has four
pups of her own is now looking | 0:05:38 | 0:05:41
after this little cub making sure
she has milk and all | 0:05:41 | 0:05:44
the love she needs. | 0:05:44 | 0:05:48
