Hi, I'm Ricky.

This is Newsround.

Meet six-year-old

Maisie from Swindon.

She s deaf, the same

as the character she plays

in the film The Silent Child.

Last night, that film won an Oscar.

Newsround is with her in Hollywood.

Imagine you are in Hollywood

on the day of the Oscars.

So, how do you get ready

for the biggest days of your

life?

Well, if you are Maisie,

it is pancakes for breakfast

and a trip to the beach before

getting all glammed

up for the red carpet.

Once the ceremony

starts, it is a nervous

wait for the film team to find

out if they have won.

Maisie's family and friends

are also feeling it.

But no need to worry...

The Oscar goes to...

The Silent Child.

It won the award for

Best Live Action Short

Film and Maisie was at the heart of

the celebrations as the writer made

a speech.

I made a promise to our six-year-old

lead actress that I

would sign this speech...

My hands are shaking

a bit so I apologise.

And afterwards it is time for Maisie

to head home to get a big hug from

dad.

I am not surprised!

There aren't many

six-year-olds with a

place in Hollywood history.

Next, meet the students

who wanted to do something

to help the homeless.

Ladies first.

OK.

I was supposed to go first

and then he said ladies...

Yes, ladies first, about myself.

They are having a mass sleep out

in solidarity of young people that

find themselves homeless.

We cannot replicate what homeless

people go through because nobody

should have to go through that

but we are sleeping on the floor

and the heating is off and no

phones or MP3 players,

none of that at all.

I think the most challenging thing

that will happen is night sleeping

on the ground because like most

people like me, I am most used

to sleeping in a bed.

I think the most challenging thing

for me is trying to keep warm.

Tonight the thing I'm going to miss

the most is my family

because I usually have them there.

I think the students will get

a really small flavour of what it

might be like to sleep

without their home comforts.

Put themselves in the shoes

of someone on the streets.

I can't wait until the morning

because I'm not going to wake up.

It is too early and

it is the weekend.

On a scale of one to ten I was one.

It was awful.

I was freezing cold and hungry.

I was about three.

I was minus five.

If I was uncomfortable

inside on the cold wooden floor then

how was it for them when they don't

have any sort of shelter.

I think it is going to be ten times,

even a hundred times harder

the people who are sleeping outside

with no home, remote shelter.

More people should be taking

the time to talk to them and getting

out of homelessness.

It has given me the best insights

because there is no other

experience to make you feel

what they are feeling.

Next, footballing legend, Lionel

Messi hit a career high yesterday.

Let s take a look at the some

of the numbers, which make up

the Magnificent Messi.

Lionel Messi is thought of by many

as the greatest footballer

in the world right now.

For some, maybe even the best player

ever and here is why.

The Argentina-born player has

been at the very top

of his game for over 13 years.

So far, he has only played

for one club, FC Barcelona,

who play in the Spanish league,

where he has scored 539 goals,

helping them to win eight La Liga

titles, four Champions League

trophies and five Spanish cups.

He has also found the back

of the net 61 times for his country.

On Sunday, he showed his class

once more with this.

It is over the wall and it is in!

That amazing free kick

marked his 600th career goal

and showed the world that he really

is Magic Messi.
