You're watching Newsround with Jenny. First, Newsround has spent | :00:00. | :00:10.
the afternoon with the Prime Minister to ask him your questions | :00:11. | :00:14.
about school sport. Last year, David Cameron promised that all primary | :00:15. | :00:17.
schools in England would get around ?9,000 each to spend on sport every | :00:18. | :00:23.
year until 2016. But today he said that schools will now keep on | :00:24. | :00:27.
getting that money until 2020. But there has been some criticism over | :00:28. | :00:30.
how the government deals with sport in schools. Martin went to meet the | :00:31. | :00:40.
PM. Why is this exclusive to primary schools, why not expand the idea to | :00:41. | :00:46.
secondary schools? If you want to change sport and increase it, you | :00:47. | :00:50.
need to start with primary schools because that's children at an early | :00:51. | :00:51.
age. All schools need sports it makes | :00:52. | :01:02.
sense to basically give the money to all schools, the bigger schools get | :01:03. | :01:07.
slightly more money and the smaller schools get slightly less money but | :01:08. | :01:12.
a 250 pupil primary school will get the money. | :01:13. | :01:23.
The more sport, the better. Some children like PE, some like to play | :01:24. | :01:32.
football or rugby, some children want to experiment with new sports | :01:33. | :01:37.
like tennis or dancing. The variety is really good for children. | :01:38. | :01:44.
Whatever it is, we want more. I went to a mainstream school and are used | :01:45. | :01:50.
to get sent to the library when PE was on. What ensures that doesn't | :01:51. | :01:54.
happen to kids with physical disabilities or special needs? This | :01:55. | :01:59.
programme should be for all children, those with disabilities | :02:00. | :02:04.
and those without. The money matters because sometimes you do need | :02:05. | :02:09.
specialist teachers and people with expertise who know how to involve | :02:10. | :02:13.
disabled children in sports and sporting activities. | :02:14. | :02:15.
The opposition Labour Party say this extra money is a good idea but think | :02:16. | :02:20.
the Government were wrong to get rid of one of their plans to make all | :02:21. | :02:23.
primary school children in England do two hours of sport a week. And | :02:24. | :02:27.
one of the biggest teaching unions, the NUT, is welcoming the extra | :02:28. | :02:30.
money, but says given that many primary schools don't have dedicated | :02:31. | :02:34.
PE teachers, it doesn't add up to a great deal. | :02:35. | :02:38.
The 22nd Winter Games doesn't officially get underway until | :02:39. | :02:41.
tomorrow but a few events have already started. Britain's Jamie | :02:42. | :02:45.
Nicholls has already qualified for the final of the slopestyle | :02:46. | :02:48.
snowboarding competition, and later tonight it's the ladies' moguls | :02:49. | :02:50.
skiing, and the group figure skating. That's all from me, bye! | :02:51. | :02:59.
