Afternoon, I'm Ayshah, with Newsround this Tuesday. | :00:11. | :00:13.
First, to the thousands of children affected by the floods in Cumbria. | :00:14. | :00:17.
Hundreds are still off school after their classrooms and homes | :00:18. | :00:20.
And many kids in Lancashire don't have any electricity, | :00:21. | :00:25.
But the power's been put back on in around 10,000 houses. | :00:26. | :00:29.
Dozens of children who've been affected by the flooding in the | :00:30. | :00:32.
North West of England had to leave all their clothes and toys behind at | :00:33. | :00:35.
home and move to temporary shelters until the water disappears. | :00:36. | :00:40.
Other families have been clearing out their damaged homes, throwing | :00:41. | :00:43.
away carpets and sofas that have been ruined by the smelly water. | :00:44. | :00:46.
These kids have been getting food, clothes and towels | :00:47. | :00:48.
from volunteers at a special community centre in Cumbria. | :00:49. | :01:05.
What went over the radiators, it has been making the captures float. And | :01:06. | :01:14.
we have had all of the table floating and it is all around, just | :01:15. | :01:17.
devastating. It is just really satisfying that | :01:18. | :01:25.
people are actually helping. And the community, it is just really great. | :01:26. | :01:30.
I have been trying to help my brother because he has been flooded | :01:31. | :01:34.
out. And he had to get relief so we were able to help him. | :01:35. | :01:39.
It's not just people who've had to be rescued. | :01:40. | :01:41.
This dog was carried to safety from deep flood water in Corbridge, | :01:42. | :01:44.
And this donkey was lucky to be rescued from thick mud in Kerry, | :01:45. | :01:47.
Volunteers used a small boat and a life belt to drag him to safety. | :01:48. | :01:51.
Go to the website to tell us if your home or your school's been | :01:52. | :01:55.
11-year-old Angus has already been in touch to say everything's been | :01:56. | :01:58.
shut down where he lives in Kendal, in Cumbria. | :01:59. | :02:06.
He says they're slowly draining the water out of the houses. | :02:07. | :02:09.
Let us know if you've had to move out or stay with friends or family | :02:10. | :02:13.
Next, what's on your Christmas list this year? | :02:14. | :02:18.
Well, one boy wanted a lizard and, as Martin found out, | :02:19. | :02:22.
he got more than he bargained for in his broccoli. | :02:23. | :02:24.
Animal lover Charlie isn't short of pets. | :02:25. | :02:27.
Max the dog, Snowy the rabbit, turtles Dippy and Dipper, Dougie | :02:28. | :02:30.
But last year, all Charlie really wanted for Christmas was a lizard. | :02:31. | :02:41.
I said - no chance, we have that many animals in this | :02:42. | :02:50.
I got the veg out and I thought I would do it on Christmas Eve, | :02:51. | :02:55.
chopping my veg up at the sink and as I was chopping it up | :02:56. | :02:59.
and putting it into the saucepan, there was a lizard. | :03:00. | :03:01.
My husband was sat there, so I shouted "Greg, there's | :03:02. | :03:04.
His name is Brock because my mum found him in broccoli. | :03:05. | :03:10.
She ran into the kitchen with a sandwich box, | :03:11. | :03:16.
so when I went to see what it was, to my surprise, it was a gecko. | :03:17. | :03:20.
The RSPCA had said they couldn't pick it up on Christmas Day, | :03:21. | :03:23.
but when I heard them say they couldn't pick it up, I thought they | :03:24. | :03:26.
They said that if we got the right stuff and the right crickets, | :03:27. | :03:31.
Geckos are not found in cold climates like here in the UK. | :03:32. | :03:37.
As reptiles, they can't produce their own body | :03:38. | :03:39.
heat, so they prefer to live in warm countries like Spain for example. | :03:40. | :03:47.
It's very important to do the research when it comes to reptiles. | :03:48. | :03:50.
You've got to think of the type of climate they come from. | :03:51. | :03:59.
You've also got to think of their food source. | :04:00. | :04:03.
Some geckos eat fruit-based things, some are insect eaters, so you need | :04:04. | :04:06.
Well, Charlie, Brock looks as if he's doing well. | :04:07. | :04:12.
You definitely got your Christmas wish last year. | :04:13. | :04:15.
Well, Martin, I'm looking for something a bit bigger this year. | :04:16. | :04:20.
MUM: Charlie! | :04:21. | :04:21.
I could not imagine an elephant in my home. | :04:22. | :04:34.
Researchers in Australia say it's the best preserved dinosaur fossil | :04:35. | :04:37.
It's an entirely new dinosaur species, with armour like plating on | :04:38. | :04:41.
It has a parrot-like beak, bones in its thick skin, and | :04:42. | :04:45.
That's all from Team Newsround today. | :04:46. | :04:50.
Ricky's back in the morning, so don't miss it. | :04:51. | :04:58. |
