Experts are warning that some of them aren't well made,

Hoverboards, segways, self balancing scooters,

whatever you want to call them, they are one of the most popular

gifts being asked for this Christmas.

But Trading Standards, an organisation that makes sure that

products are safe for people to use, have taken away more than 15,000

hoverboards in the UK because they're unsafe.

To talk to you about hoverboards. How do you know of a hoverboard is

faulty? It would be difficult to find out because a lot of the

problems are inside the mechanism, but if you bought one and you got

the plug out of it and you could see and it looks like a normal plug,

that is an indication it might be a problem with the whole thing. What

should we do to take care of a hoverboard? If you're going to

charge it up, do it during the day to make sure someone is around to

see if there is a problem. Is there a safe or reliable place to buy a

hoverboard from? We are finding problems in lots of places, online,

and even some of the big chain stores have had to recall their

products. At the moment it is quite difficult to find a place where you

can guarantee you will get a safe one. How are the faulty hoverboards

getting to the UK? All of the ones we have found so far are imported

from China. They are put on the plane, come over here and customs

check a lot of the products, but so many coming through the airport that

they cannot check everyone, so sometimes that's how they got in the

shops. Do you guys still want a hoverboard? Yes. Maybe, I don't

know. I'm in the middle. If you could check it is safe, it would be
