What's it like when your house is flooded

by dirty, smelly water?

It's happened to hundreds of children in Cumbria this week

and one of them, Ben, has been showing Newsround reporter

Naz around his home after he went back for the first time

following the floods.

What is it like, seeing all this here?

It's not very nice.

Your football boots there.

Some are dry.

These are not wet.

It's not very nice.

It was all in the cupboards and everything, and the floor,

all over the floor.

It is just like it is junk.

It's a bit upsetting.

I didn't think it was going to be this bad.

We sit on the couches around here.

That's to watch the TV, but it's ruined.

Pretty wet, isn't it?

It's not nice.

Ben's family think it will be a least two months before they can

go back home, but they have had plenty of offers of places

to stay over Christmas.

Next, if you're hoping for a hoverboard for Christmas,

then you won't want to miss this.

Experts are warning that some of them aren't well made

and can be dangerous.

So, how can you be sure yours is OK?

Ayshah's been to investigate.

Hoverboards, segways, self-balancing scooters,

whatever you want to call them, they are one of the most popular

gifts being asked for this Christmas.

I want a hoverboard so I can reach my destination quickly.

I am getting a hoverboard for Christmas, because a lot

of famous people have it, such as Tiger and Justin Bieber.

You can show your own style to people.

But Trading Standards, an organisation that makes sure that

products are safe for people to use, have taken away more than 15,000

hoverboards in the UK because they're unsafe.

Many had faulty plugs and were at risk of overheating

and even causing a fire.

Hi, guys, I work for Trading Standards and I've come

to talk to you about hoverboards.

How do you know if a hoverboard is faulty?

It would be difficult to find out because a lot of the problems

are inside the mechanism, but if you bought one and you got

the plug out of it and you could see it looks like a normal plug,

that is an indication it might be a problem with the whole thing.

What should we do to take care of a hoverboard?

If you're going to charge it up, do it during the day to make sure

someone is around to see if there is a problem.

Is there a safe or reliable place to buy a hoverboard from?

We are finding problems in lots of places, online,

and even some of the big chain stores have had

to recall their products.

At the moment it is quite difficult to find a place where you can

guarantee you will get a safe one.

How are the faulty hoverboards getting to the UK?

All of the ones we have found so far are imported from China.

They are put on the plane, come over here and Customs check

a lot of the products, but so many coming through

the airport that they cannot check everyone, so sometimes that's how

they got in the shops.

Do you guys still want a hoverboard?

Yes.

Maybe, I don't know.

I'm in the middle.

If you could check it is safe, it would be a cool ride.

Sport now: And Manchester United are out of the Champions League

after losing 3-2 to VFL Wolfsburg.

United took the lead near the start, but Wolfsburg scored twice

to lead at half-time.

In the second half, United thought they were through to the next

round after Wolfsburg scored an own goal, but another goal

from them put them back in front.

United finished third in their group and now drop to the Europa League.

Meanwhile, Manchester City, who'd already qualified

for the knock-out stages, beat Borussia Monchengladbach 4-2

to go top of their group.

Raheem Sterling marked his 21st birthday by scoring two goals before

Wifried Bony wrapped up the match and victory for City.

I am very happy that we won the group, but for me,

the most thing is that we return to be the team that I normally

want to see playing that way.

Next up, every year, hockey fans in Canada take part

in one of the weirdest sporting traditions.

After the first goal of a game, fans are asked to throw stuffed

animals onto the ice rink.

Almost 30,000 teddies were thrown.

The annual Teddy Bear Toss has got bigger each year.

After the game, all the toys get donated to charity.
