Hi, all, it's Tuesday 9th September, I'm Ricky and you're with Newsround.

And why it could be a big day for gadget fans!

Starring the people of Scotland, a ballot paper and one question -

Should Scotland be an independent country?

No one, absolutely no one, will run the affairs of this country

better than the people who live and work in Scotland.

And in the No corner, Alistair Darling!

Being a part of something bigger gives us opportunity and security,

as well as our Scottish identity and decision-making.

Who will win? Just nine days to go until Scotland decides.

Well, the Scottish National Party, who control Scottish Parliament,

want Scotland to become its own independent country.

But the UK's three main political parties want Scotland to stay

So, to settle it - a massive vote is taking place

And, for the first time, 16 and 17-year-olds will get to vote.

It's a huge decision which could affect loads of things,

such as whether Scotland uses the pound, and whether it's

Scotland's been joined with England since 1707.

So if people do vote yes it'll mean an end to more than 300 years

Scotland is known around the world for its awesome

To get a feel of what this place means to the

people who live here, we asked kids to remind us what their thoughts

Scotland has haggis, bagpipes, and legend has it it is home to be

locked Ness monster. Over 5 million people live here from deepest locks

to the highest mountains. Scotland is full of culture with a rich

history but don't take my word for it. Scotland is a really nice place

to live because there is loads of history. Quite a few inventions were

made in Scotland like the telephone and the TV. I like Scotland because

it is fun and there are loads of things to do. It is great, there are

great cities and lovely mountains to climb, and Ben Nevis is the biggest

one in the UK. It is a happy place. It is famous for golf and there are

a lot of things you can do. The first thing I think about is the

landscapes, the hills and the Lakes and the castles. I think it is

probably one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Scotland is

full of culture and history, it is just amazing. Thanks for that. Just

nine days to go before the big event. -- the big vote.

Let's have a look at this massive crater caused

when a small meteorite crash landed in Nicaragua in South America.

People living nearby said they heard a loud bang when it landed,

leaving a hole 12 metres wide and five metres deep.

It's thought it had broken off an asteroid

which was passing close to Earth. Luckily no-one was hurt.

Apple, the tech giant which makes the iPhone, will announce

It's been four years since they introduced a completely new gadget.

Tech experts reckon the iPhone 6 will be revealed at a special launch

event - it's said to be slimmer with a bigger screen and curvier edges.
