Good morning. I'm Ayshah and you're watching Newsround live on the CBBC

Channel this Friday morning. Here's what's coming up. Martin will be

here to talk about last night's Brit nominations. We'll also hear from

this lady. And we check out some very lucky runners. This is

Newsround. Three quarters of the world's large carnivores, the likes

of lions, wolves and bears, are in massive decline, according to a new

study. Scientists studied 31 big meat-eaters and found numbers are

most at risk in the Amazon, South East Asia and in southern and East

Africa. They say the decline is due to the animals losing their habitat,

being hunted by humans and not being able to find enough food. Now, the

scientists are calling for a world-wide programme to help protect

the animals affected. Next to Brazil, where sailors from all round

the world, hoping to be selected for the Rio Olympics in 2016, are having

to train in dirty and often unhealthy conditions. Many athletes,

including a large British squad, are currently taking part in a

pre-Olympic competition in Rio's Guanabara Bay. They have told the

BBC they are risking serious illness every time they compete in the

highly polluted waters. Campaigners are demanding it is cleaned up

before the Games begin. It was a very starry night in London

as the world of pop waited to find out who was nominated for a Brit

Award. The list was announced by Radio One DJ Nick Grimshaw in front

of a very A-List crowd, including Jessie J, Ellie Goulding, and our

Martin. And he's here now. What was it like, what did you find out? It

was a fantastic night at the nominations party. The happiest have

to be Bastille and Disclosure, four nominations each. They are followed

by Ellie Goulding and Rudimental, few have three nominations. I had a

chat with them. Ellie Goulding told me that the album that came out, it

took a long time to get to number one. And we can have a listen. The

album, number one, nominated for a Brit award, and you are performing.

Amazing? Yes. I would love to win Best female, I do not know if I

will. What other artists were down there? Jessie J, I spoke to her, and

she happens to be best mates with LE. -- Ellie Goulding. One of my

best friends is Ellie Goulding who has probably had the best year and I

think she is amazing. I am so proud of her. She is a little bit behind

me on the red carpet, I think she will win something. Rudimental at

One Direction, what about them? It would not be the Brit Awards without

One Direction. They are up for two. We will find out who wins on the

19th of February. I hope I will be going. There will be a lot more on

can see the nominations and he also catches up with Birdy. The

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has won the African player of

the year for the third year in a row. The 30-year-old Ivory Coast

international scored for his club side in the League Cup semifinal

first-leg victory against West Ham on Wednesday. He says he's proud of

his achievements. I think I am lucky today. I am very proud of myself. I

am doing very well and I am very happy with that. What do you do when

you're feeling like you need a bit of luck? Cross your fingers? Or do

you have a lucky number or toy? Watch out for flashes here. In

Japan, the biggest luck goes to the man who runs the fastest. Around

5,000 men made the dash through a shrine hoping to win good luck for

the year ahead. The winner was 19-year-old runner Seiki Kyoda. He
