Hi, I'm Ayshah with your evening Newsround update. First, more and

more of England is being hit by a flooding crisis and the problem's

getting worse. Record water levels are putting lives in danger and

homes at risk. There are 16 severe flood warnings in place, which means

there's danger to life. The areas most at risk are along the River

Thames, where homes are being evacuated and thousands more are at

risk from the rising water. But it's not just the south-east - the

country's longest river, the Severn, is causing big problems in the

Midlands. Nel's been in Worcester today where the river levels just

keep on rising the clean-up is well underway after

the River Severn burst its banks today. The water levels are just

incredibly high. The water is moving really quite fast. That bridge

behind me as one of the main bridges connecting the city from one side to

the other and it was closed for the majority of today. It has caused

havoc. School runs that would normally take 20 minutes are taking

two or three hours. Today, lots of roads, including this one, have been

closed due to flooding. That it's not just the roads, it is the local

area. Businesses, homes have been flooded, with lots of them unable to

open today. People have actively leave their homes. Things are set to

get worse before they do get better. The Environment Agency warns that

the water levels will Peter Hiatt tomorrow than today.

So, is the bad weather ever going to end? Well, why have we had so much

weird weather through autumn and winter?

It's because the chart has looked like this. On Wednesday, a big area

of low pressure, lots of white lines, meaning very strong wind.

Just when you thought you had seen enough, another area of low pressure

bringing yet more wind and rain across all parts of the British

Isles. I and my colleagues will be forecasting more rain, more gales

and, for some, snow and ice. And there's plenty of snow and ice

in Sochi, where it's been another eventful day of Olympic action.

Here's Martin. There were highs and lows for team

GB in the curling. They beat the Russians in the first match, but the

women lost to Sweden. But there are still plenty of matches to be

played. Jack Whelbourne crashed out of his final. But let's end of a

high. 15-year-old home-grown superstar that one Mac wowed crowds
