Now you might be heading for a day in the classroom,

but in South Africa some kids from cities and poor areas have been

It's part of the fight against animal poaching and gives

kids who've never experienced the wild side of Africa a chance

to learn why the environment and wildlife is so important.

One, two, three! Respect yourself,

respect each other! Here in South Africa,

these kids are learning to respect their environment

and the animals that live in it. It's part of a special

project to teach kids more about African wildlife

and the effects of poaching. In this country, elephants

are poached for their tusks and at least one rhino is killed

every day for their horn. Poachers take them because they can

be sold for huge amounts of money to Asian countries like China and

Vietnam. Some people living there use

the tusks and horns to make ornaments and belief

they have special powers, which scientists say isn't true.

The programme is about inspiring kids to care. It's everything that

we're trained to do is bring kids out into the bush and give them an

opportunity to experience wildlife in order for them to start to

develop a relationship with them in order for them to care about them.

Kids taking part play sports and have special lessons to learn about

animals and most importantly get to spot them in the wild. I really want

to see a lion because I want to see their teeth, they're really sharp. I

wish to see the beautiful take animals, I've never seen the big

animals in the world. I want to see the white rhino because it protects

animal Senate defence. These kids are heading out on their first

Safari. Many have not seen animals like elephants or rhinos before.

Normally we don't see Mayans and part of our areas. Ring back it's

to take an active role in protecting animals and the environment in the
