Happy Monday morning. Ayshah here live on the CBBC channel. On the

way, a six storey car park crashes to earth. And loads of you tune in

for the new look Voice. This is Newsround.

First to a massive disappointment in tennis, within three hours of the

Australian open starting, the British women were out of the

singles' competition. Laura Robson and Heather Watson both lost their

matches on the very first day. It leaves Andy Murray as the only Brit

left. Laura looked disappointed as she faced the press after her match.

She lost the first ten points, and things didn't get much better. It

took Belgium's Kirsten Flipkens just 50 minutes to win 6-3, 6-0. It is

all difficult. To transition from what you are working on in training

into a match. Did not play well but I amazing support today. -- I had

amazing support. Britain's number three Heather Watson was beaten by

31st seed, Daniela Hunchukova. Their match lasted a bit longer than

Robson's, two and a half hours, but the Slovak still beat Watson 7-5,

3-6, 6-3. But Watson says she's pleased with her performance,

considering she was ill with glandular fever last season. I feel

like it is an opportunity lost. I look forward to this draw and

thought it was a good drop. -- I thought it was a good draw. But I've

played ten matches this year already, and if you told me that

last year, I would have taken it in the second.

Next the astronauts aboard the International Space Station were

thrilled after they finally got their Christmas presents yesterday.

They were blasted into space a month later than planned after a space

station breakdown delayed things. These pictures show the robotic arm

of the international space station helping the capsule to dock. It was

packed with supplies, groceries and gifts from astronaut's families back

on earth. The astronauts were supposed to wait until today to open

the capsule but the six astronauts were so excited they opened it

yesterday. To Thailand now where thousands of

protesters have closed major roads in the capital Bangkok as part of a

campaign to overthrow the government. They've been marching

through the streets and holding rallies since early morning. 18,000

security staff have been out on the streets to try to keep things calm.

The protesters don't agree with the way Thailand's Prime Minister,

Yingluck Shinawatra, is running the country and they want her out of

power. We'll know tonight who'll get one of

the biggest honours in football, the Ballon D'or. It's given to the

player who's outshone the rest in the world and Jenny has been finding

out who's in the running this year. The Ballon D'Or, one of the most

prestigious prizes a footballer can get and it seems Argentina's Lionel

Messi can't let go of it. He's won four times in a row and this year

he's in the running for it, again! The winner is decided by selected

managers, players and journalists from around the world. And this year

it's a tough choice. The Barcelona ace has shown no sign of letting up,

topping La Liga's scoring charts as his side made off with the 2012/13

league title. And he's been just as great on on the international front

for his home nation Argentina, helping to secure their place in

this year's World Cup. But can the other two on the short list,

Cristiano Ronaldo or Franck Ribery, take it off him? 2013 was another

goal-drenched year for Ronaldo. The Real Madrid star helped himself to

34 goals in the Spanish league last season. And even though Franck

Ribery had a frustrating 2012, he rose to help his team Bayern Munich

to win the Bundesliga, German Cup and UEFA Champions League last year.

His qualities could well inspire his home country France to get back into

the limelight in Brazil this summer. But why is the Ballon D'Or so

important? I caught up with our resident footie expert, Match of the

Day Kickabout's Radzi. It's likely Oscars for football. Legitimately,

winning it means you are the best player in the world. What do you

predict? Messi, Rinaldo Ribery? Ronaldo, more than one goal per game

this year. You cannot beat that. It is him for me. So can Messi keep the

title for yet another year or will Ribery or Ronaldo snatch it off him?

All will be revealed tonight. Now how about this for an impressive

big bang. This car park in Newport in Wales was blown up in a series of

explosions, but don't worry it was all planned. The demolition of

building is the first phase of a new development which will include shops

and restaurants. The battle of the weekend telly

ratings is well and truly on. We have all the latest on the voice.
