Hey, Whitney here with your top

stories this Monday afternoon.

First up, Ryan Giggs has been

announced as Wales new manager.

He's signed a four year deal

and says he can't wait to start.

But he's never been a manager before

so not everyone is sure if he's

the right man for the job.

But what do you guys think?

Let's hear from some

of you in Bangor in North Wales.

I think he deserved

a chance but I don't fully

agree with the decision.

I'm happy he got the job

but I would be more happy

if Osian Roberts or Craig Bellamy

got the job.

I'm not very happy because I don't

think he's proven himself

at all to be honest.

He missed all the friendlies

when he was a player.

I don't think he's shown enough

passion for Wales to get the job.

Oh, dear.

We also asked for your comments

And you were a little

more positive there.

Osian got in touch -

he's nine and thinks Ryan

will be the perfect manager

because he played for Wales.

Dyfan is seven and says he'll be

brilliant because he's a legend.

And William who's eight says

he'll be a good manager

because he has Wales in his heart!

Next, she's being tipped for huge

things in the music world.

We're talking about Sigrid,

a singer from Norway who has just

won the BBC Sound of 2018 award.

She popped into Newsround HQ

where Ricky caught up with her.

What advice do you have for young

viewers how to write a really good

song?

What is your process? I always

start with melodies.

So you start

with the melody and you think about

the lyrics after that? Do you ever

threw away a song or keep at it?

Yes, we throwaway songs. It happens

all the time. You can't have that

pressure on yourself.

Who inspired

you when you were younger? Rather

there any you loved as a kid?

Definitely my siblings. My sister

there is an amazing songwriter but

she doesn't work in music and my

brother taught me to play guitar,

but famous ones, like definitely

Adele, Keane, Coldplay. We did a

cover of Ellie Golding.

Do you think

you would go crazy if you met the

likes of her?

I don't know! I

started crying when I have got BBC

Sound of 2018.

Is it true that you

only started to sing and write

original songs after your brother

was fed up of you singing Adele

covers all the time?

It is true. He

is a musician as well as studying

here in England so he was playing a

show in my home time and he said

please do not do any more of those,

because he knew I had been trying to

write original songs for half a year

without any results. I still have

those voice memos on my iPhone. But

I wrote a song when I was 16 years

old and that was the first song I

ever wrote.
