Hi, I'm Ayshah, welcome to Newsround.

:00:10.:00:11.

Tributes have been paid to a politician who's died.

:00:12.:00:15.

Jo Cox, who was a Member of Parliament, was killed

:00:16.:00:20.

after an attack yesterday near where she was working

:00:21.:00:22.

Vigils have been held to remember her and many people have

:00:23.:00:26.

been giving their tributes, including the Prime

:00:27.:00:29.

She was an MP, a great campaigning MP with huge compassion,

:00:30.:00:39.

with a big heart, and people are going to be very,

:00:40.:00:43.

And I think she did the right job to, I think she did the right

:00:44.:00:54.

Well, the BBC's John Maguire is in Birstall this morning

:00:55.:01:00.

This is the village of Birstall, this is where the MP Jo Cox

:01:01.:01:06.

was about to take a constituency surgery yesterday which is something

:01:07.:01:11.

They meet, sit down with local people who will have voted for them,

:01:12.:01:16.

some of course may not have voted for them.

:01:17.:01:19.

This, some of the floral tributes that have been laid by people.

:01:20.:01:22.

And they get a very good idea of the type of work she did.

:01:23.:01:26.

She worked hard for women's causes, for refugees, she had also

:01:27.:01:31.

been a charity worker, working around the world in some

:01:32.:01:34.

war-torn countries in previous years.

:01:35.:01:36.

And many of the tribute and comments there reflect that.

:01:37.:01:39.

What's very clear is that she was very respected and very loved

:01:40.:01:43.

Now it's important to remember that these events are extremely rare.

:01:44.:01:50.

And if anything you see or hear in the news does upset you,

:01:51.:01:54.

then go to Newsround online for advice on what you should do.

:01:55.:01:59.

It was a huge day for the home nations in the Euros yesterday.

:02:00.:02:04.

Jenny is live in Lens in France to fill us in.

:02:05.:02:06.

Hello, welcome to a very rainy France. There were two massive

:02:07.:02:22.

matches yesterday, England beat Wales 2-1, putting on top of the

:02:23.:02:26.

group thanks to a late goal from Daniel Sturridge. But it was a

:02:27.:02:30.

historic day for Northern Ireland who won their first ever match at a

:02:31.:02:33.

European Championship yesterday. They beat Ukraine 2-0 in their

:02:34.:02:38.

second group C match. They took the lead in the 49th minute, goal coming

:02:39.:02:43.

from Gareth McAuley, then Niall McGinn scored two give Northern

:02:44.:02:50.

Ireland their first win in a major tournament in 34 years. The win

:02:51.:02:53.

means they will finish at least third in their group and a win

:02:54.:02:56.

against Germany on Tuesday would guarantee their place in the

:02:57.:03:02.

knockout stages. It is an exciting time.

:03:03.:03:04.

As soon as it kicked off, my heart was racing.

:03:05.:03:07.

Here he is, Conor Washington, the unknown quantity, if you like.

:03:08.:03:10.

The first half, it was very nerve wracking.

:03:11.:03:16.

Ukraine were putting a lot of effort in and getting a lot of chances.

:03:17.:03:19.

It got a bit frustrating at times because we got so close to the net

:03:20.:03:23.

and just didn't get in the goals because the goalkeepers

:03:24.:03:25.

At 49 minutes through, McAuley, there was a breakthrough goal,

:03:26.:03:35.

he just headed it straight into the back of the net.

:03:36.:03:38.

These are about the worst conditions I can remember seeing

:03:39.:03:49.

Suddenly the ref blew his whistle and all the players

:03:50.:03:56.

And we were all quite confused until we saw the hail stones

:03:57.:04:01.

And then McGinn scored the last goal, ten seconds to go.

:04:02.:04:15.

Whenever the full-time whistle had gone, they went absolutely cuckoo.

:04:16.:04:22.

1-0 would have been good, but 2-0, that's such a good feeling.

:04:23.:04:27.

It's been an incredible six months for Tim Peake,

:04:28.:04:34.

the British astronaut on board the International Space Station,

:04:35.:04:38.

but now the time has come for him to return home.

:04:39.:04:41.

He says that he's most looking forward to spending

:04:42.:04:43.

time with his family, breathing fresh air and feeling rain

:04:44.:04:46.

I've been looking into how it'll happen.

:04:47.:04:55.

Major Tim Peake will be returning to Earth on board

:04:56.:04:57.

Once he leaves the ISS his journey will take 3.5 hours,

:04:58.:05:04.

finally landing in area called the Kazakh steppe in Kazakhstan,

:05:05.:05:09.

When Tim Peake is on board and ready to return to Earth,

:05:10.:05:15.

the Soyuz spacecraft will fire its main rockets

:05:16.:05:17.

at a safe distance from the ISS and the journey home begins.

:05:18.:05:24.

At key stages of the descent, the spacecraft will start to get rid

:05:25.:05:27.

It's important that the module is as light as possible for landing,

:05:28.:05:37.

because the lighter it is, the slower the descent will be.

:05:38.:05:41.

Once they are close to Earth, the Soyuz will release parachutes

:05:42.:05:44.

to slow it down even more and get the spacecraft into the correct

:05:45.:05:47.

Six engines then fire on the underside of the capsule.

:05:48.:05:56.

This acts to cushion the craft just before it thuds down

:05:57.:05:58.

on the Kazakh steppe, which looks quite dramatic, but it's

:05:59.:06:02.

A recovery and rescue team then arrives to meet the crew members

:06:03.:06:10.

That's all from me, Newsround's back this afternoon at 4:20pm.
