Hi, I'm Whitney, it's Friday

and you are live with CBBC.

0:00:020:00:05

Coming up on Newsround.

0:00:050:00:09

We speak to Facebook

and Instagram to see how

0:00:090:00:12

they are tackling online bullying.

0:00:120:00:14

Ore gives us the low down

on what will be happening tonight

0:00:140:00:17

on Children In Need.

0:00:170:00:18

And the World War One message home

that really takes the biscuit.

0:00:180:00:23

Being online can be fun

but what about when things go wrong?

0:00:340:00:36

Prince William unveiled a new set

of rules to try and help 11-16

0:00:360:00:40

year olds with this.

0:00:400:00:41

Ayshah was at the launch

and sent us this...

0:00:410:00:44

We are Blossom...

0:00:440:00:47

Snapchat.

0:00:490:00:50

I began work on the issue of cyber

bullying a few years ago

0:00:500:00:54

and as I explored it in more detail

I felt a growing sense of alarm.

0:00:540:00:58

I came to realise what it

meant for bullying,

0:00:580:01:00

an age-old problem sadly,

to be supercharged by

0:01:000:01:03

the power of social media.

0:01:030:01:05

I am here at Google HQ which is home

to YouTube and that's

0:01:050:01:09

because there's been a big event

here today with Prince William

0:01:090:01:12

working with the big social

media companies to talk

0:01:120:01:15

about online bullying.

0:01:150:01:17

I can today unveil a plan of action

to protect children and encourage

0:01:170:01:21

a new standard of behaviour online.

0:01:210:01:23

That plan is to stop...

0:01:230:01:26

Speak...

0:01:260:01:27

And support.

0:01:270:01:30

He wants you to think of these

three words when you come

0:01:300:01:32

across bullying online.

0:01:320:01:34

But there is a problem,

what if you are under 13

0:01:340:01:37

and on a social media site you're

not meant to be on?

0:01:370:01:40

You may be too scared to report

something in case your

0:01:400:01:42

account is closed down.

0:01:420:01:45

I spoke to Simon from

Facebook about this.

0:01:450:01:48

If you say you are 13 and you're 12

and you experience a bad problem

0:01:480:01:52

on Facebook do not be shy

about talking to us.

0:01:520:01:54

We're not going to check up

on your age before we decide or not

0:01:540:01:58

that problem you have needs

to be tackled.

0:01:580:02:00

However old you are if you have

a problem on Facebook

0:02:000:02:04

or Instagram tell us about it,

please report it.

0:02:040:02:08

These kids are young.

0:02:080:02:09

They are on your platform.

0:02:090:02:10

I know you said they're not to be

on there but they are

0:02:100:02:13

and if something awful happens

to them shouldn't that be

0:02:130:02:19

more your responsibility

to do something about it?

0:02:190:02:21

I hope I've made it really clear.

0:02:210:02:23

The answer is yes.

0:02:230:02:24

Yes, it's clear if you are under 13

you shouldn't be on Facebook

0:02:240:02:28

but that does not mean you should be

worried or scared about letting us

0:02:280:02:32

know there's a problem.

0:02:320:02:34

We are there to help you.

0:02:340:02:38

Somebody else may report your

account and say this person

0:02:380:02:41

is underage and we have to look

at that, it is our responsibility

0:02:410:02:44

as a company but how can

we best help a young person

0:02:440:02:47

whatever their age to have the best

possible experience online.

0:02:470:02:50

As well as Facebook we tried

to speak to other companies as well

0:02:500:02:53

like Google and Snapchat

but they refused to speak to us.

0:02:530:02:58

What Prince William and all

the other important people in this

0:02:580:03:01

room wanted to do today is to make

sure that you guys stay safe online.

0:03:010:03:08

And if you want to find

out more about Stop,

0:03:080:03:12

Speak and Support then we've got

a full guide at Newsround

0:03:130:03:15

online right now.

0:03:150:03:17

Next...

0:03:170:03:18

Today is a special day -

it's Children in Need.

0:03:180:03:20

Strictly Come Dancing Champion

and ex-Newsround presenter Ore Oduba

0:03:200:03:24

has taken time out of his dance

rehearsals for Children

0:03:240:03:26

in Need to tell us all

about his plans for tonight.

0:03:260:03:30

Hi, Newsround, it's Ore here,

on the set of BBC Children In Need.

0:03:300:03:36

We've just finished doing our

performance because, oh, yeah!

0:03:360:03:40

On the night, we are doing a number

on the big appeal night

0:03:400:03:44

for Children In Need,

which you'd told me a year ago

0:03:440:03:47

I would have laughed your head off,

but an absolute pleasure

0:03:470:03:51

and an honour to be here on this

stage because I remember

0:03:510:03:54

when I was a kid, Children In Need

was always one of the biggest

0:03:540:03:58

nights in the year.

0:03:580:03:59

So it's quite crazy to think that me

and some other amazing

0:03:590:04:02

people are going to be

on the stage performing.

0:04:020:04:05

And on that point, incredible talent

that's going to be here.

0:04:050:04:08

So we've got Rita Ora's

going to be performing,

0:04:080:04:10

we've got some of the stars

of the West End, the leading

0:04:100:04:14

ladies will be singing,

the cast of Annie will be

0:04:140:04:17

here including Craig Revel Horwood,

so what about that for

0:04:170:04:19

a turnaround, Strictly fans?

0:04:190:04:23

It's all going to be here and it's

going to be an amazing night,

0:04:230:04:26

but of course it's all

for Children In Need,

0:04:260:04:28

all trying to raise money

for an incredible cause,

0:04:280:04:30

so do your thing.

0:04:300:04:32

Fundraise to the max,

enjoy the night and we

0:04:320:04:34

will see you on there!

0:04:340:04:35

It's happening, it's

happening, Newsrounders!

0:04:350:04:38

See you soon, bye!

0:04:380:04:43

And we want to know what you're

doing for children in need,

0:04:430:04:46

maybe you are dressing up or having

a bake sale.

0:04:460:04:49

Send us your pics and comments

by going online now.

0:04:490:04:54

Now here's a real TAIL

of bravery for you!

0:04:540:04:56

This is Mali, and he's a military

dog and been given a special

0:04:560:05:00

award for bravery.

0:05:000:05:02

He's been given the animal

equivalent of the Victoria Cross,

0:05:020:05:05

called the Dickin Medal.

0:05:050:05:07

It's because he helped

save the lives of troops

0:05:070:05:09

in Afghanistan, and even carried

on after he got injured.

0:05:090:05:17

Now for a sweet story

from World War One.

0:05:170:05:20

This keepsake was sent home

by a soldier to his mum.

0:05:200:05:24

It's a photo but look

at the frame for a minute.

0:05:240:05:27

It is actually made

out of a biscuit.

0:05:270:05:30

These biscuits were given to men

serving on the front

0:05:300:05:32

but they were so hard

that they could be carved and sent

0:05:320:05:35

in the post to people at home.

0:05:350:05:39

Crumbs, I've never seen anything

like that before!

0:05:390:05:43

That's all from me but Newsround

is back with loads more

0:05:430:05:45

top stories at 4.20pm.

0:05:450:05:47

Bye!
