on what will be happening tonight

on Children In Need.

First up, being online can be fun

but what about when things go wrong?

Prince William unveiled a new set

of rules to try and help 11-16

year olds with this.

Ayshah was at the launch

I began work on the issue of cyber

bullying a few years ago and as I

explored it in more detail I felt

a growing sense of alarm.

I came to realise what it

meant for bullying,

an age-old problem sadly, to be

supercharged by the power of social

media.

I am here at Google HQ

which is home to Facebook

to YouTube and that's because

there's been a big event

here today with Prince

William working with

the

big social media companies to talk

about online bullying.

I can today unveil a plan

of action to protect

children and encourage

a new standard of behaviour online.

That plan is to stop...

Speak...

And support.

He wants you to think of these

three words when you come

across bullying online.

But there is a problem,

what if you are under 13

and on a social media site

you're not meant to be on?

You may be too scared to report

something in case your

account is closed down.

I spoke to Simon from

Facebook about this.

If you say you are 13

and you're 12 and you

experience a bad problem on Facebook

do not be shy about talking to us.

We're not going to check up

on your age before we decide or not

that problem you have

needs to be tackled.

However old you are if you have

a problem on Facebook or

Instagram tell us about

it, please report it.

These kids are young.

They are on your platform.

I know you said they're not

to be on there but they

are and if something awful happens

to them shouldn't that be more your

responsibility to do

something about it?

I hope I've made it really clear.

The answer is yes.

Yes, it's clear if

you are under 13 you

shouldn't be on Facebook but that

does not mean you should be worried

or scared about letting us

know there's a problem.

We are there to help you.

Somebody else may report your

account and say this person is

underage and we have

to look at that, it

is our responsibility

as a

company but how can

we best help a young

person whatever their age

to

have the best possible

experience online.

As well as Facebook we tried

to speak to other companies as well

like Google and Snapchat

but they refused to speak to us.

What Prince William

and all the other important

people in this room wanted to do

today is to make sure that you guys

stay safe online.

about his plans for tonight.

Hi! I am on the set of BBC Children

In Need. And we've just finished

doing our performance because yes!

On the night, we are doing a number

on the night for Children In Need,

which you'd told me a year ago I

would have laughed your head off,

but it's a pleasure and honour to be

here because I remember when I was a

kid, Children In Need was almost one

of the biggest nights in the year.

-- was always one of the biggest

nights. Me and some other amazing

people can go on stage and perform.

Incredible talent here, Rita Ora,

some of the stars of the West End,

the leading ladies will be singing,

the cast of Ammi will be here

including Craig Revel Horwood, what

about bad for a turnaround? It's all

going to be an amazing night, it's

all for Children In Need, trying to

raise money for an incredible cause,

told you, we are rehearsing. Such an

incredible cause, fundraiser to the

maximum, enjoy the night and we will

see you on there! It's happening,

it's happening! See you soon.
