Coming up... We check out how you spent the last

day of school, festive-style! And... The whole Newsround team have been

looking back at our top stories of 2013. This is Newsround.

But first, London's emergency crews are being praised for their quick

work, helping people who were hurt when part of a theatre collapsed

yesterday evening. 76 people were injured when a bit of ceiling fell

down at the Apollo Theatre. Here's Nel with more. London's West End.

Normally wassing with theatre-goer and tourist, this is the Apollo. It

is one of the area's most famous theatres.

Gp last night, the venue was packed for a performance of The Curious

Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

But during the show, part of the ceiling collapsed bringing down the

lighting rig and balcony. I looked behind me and I saw the ceiling drop

and there was a massive loud crunching sound.

There was dust everywhere. I didn't know what to do so I ran down the

stairs. 76 people were hurt, paramedics used

buses to take some to hospital. The Mayor of London praised the

emergency services for their work and said his thousands were with

those involved. The author of the play said it was horrifying sitting

here what was there are strict rules over safety

in theatres. An investigation has started to work out what went wrong

in this rare case. Christmas is massive in the

Philippines and celebrations can last from September, till January,

in one town they have been making decorations from stuff they have

found under flattened buildings, tin cans and bottles, they say it shows

they are hopeful the country can rebuild itself.

Surely Santa is not delivering presents early. It is not the real

Father Christmas. This blow up Santa Andrew doll belong to two amateur

scientists who attached it to a special balloon and camera and sent

them to the edge of space. They want it to raise awareness of science.

The Christmas countdown is on. It is a busy day for travellers as

millions head off to spend time with family and friends. It wasn't the

normal day of lessons and more, you have been telling us on the

Tilly, Tabitha and Will had a very Christmassy day with jumpers and

antlers. Jack is wearing a snazzy Christmas hat made by his mum! And

Ruben and Abigail wore Christmas jumpers to school! Like the tree

too, guys! We have been looking back at the biggest stories of 2013. I am

joined by familiar face, for me it was inspirational going to the

Philippines and talking to the children rebuilding their lives

after the typhoon. This is what is left of the house they once had. I

say what is left, there is nothing there. Remember the horsemeat

scandal when traces of horsemeat were found in burger, that made us

think about where the food comes from. Who can forget Reuben about

kids with Down's syndrome. Do you remember when I did the report about

the smelly phones? I tried it, very very interesting! For me it was

interviewing the singing spaceman Chris Hadfield.
