Hello Newsrounders. You're live with me, Jenny, for our last update of

the day. And you're not going to want to miss this.

Britain's curling heroes get set to receive their medals in Sochi.

And the amphibious houses that could help deal with flooding in the

future. First to Ukraine, a country that

looks on the brink of revolution. In the capital city Kiev, there've been

weeks of demonstrations against the country's president, Victor

Yanukovich. Clashes between protestors and police turned more

violent in the past few days, with dozens killed and many injured. But

today the riot police have left and the streets are calmer. As you can

see from these live pictures, protestors still line the streets of

Kiev, demanding that President Yanukovich resign immediately. It

seems the president has fled the capital city - his official

government buildings have been abandoned. The country's former

prime minister, Yulia Timoshenka, is to be released from prison after

four years in jail. One thing's for certain, the protestors won't stop

until the president steps down. They demand for him to stand down.

As you can see, the place is completely empty and there is

speculation over where Yanukovych is. Some say he is east of the

Ukraine, in a country loyal to the president. There is nobody to

confirm or deny the rumours that it is empty and calm in Kiev at the

moment. We'll keep you updated on what

happens as the day goes on and if you want to know more about what's

detail on how this came about. Next, closer to home, the recent

flooding in the UK has caused chaos and millions of pounds worth of

damage. But rather than turning to sandbags in times of crisis, there

could be a new way to build flood proof houses. In the Netherlands

they've built floating, amphibious homes that adapt to the rising water

levels. Take a look at this. On the inside they look like any

regular house but on the outside the view tells you they're anything but.

These are floating houses in the Netherlands, built on cement blocks.

When the water rises, so do the houses, making them flood proof.

Let's take a look around one. I am an the outskirts of Amsterdam

and this is a floating community. These homes work on the basis of the

Archimedes principle, the more water underneath, the more weight you can

put on top. Look at the view! If we go down into the basement, life goes

on below the surface. So is this something we should be doing in the

UK, in areas at risk of flooding? In the UK we are looking at the

possibilities but it is a nation of floating and amphibious houses.

Amphibious is a house in a normal situation, and then when the flood

comes, they start to become flooded houses.

Like frogs, amphibious houses can live on land and on water. It does

cost a bit more to build them but the idea is that spending more money

making houses flood-proof, means you won't have to pay the expensive

clean-up costs that flooding can cause. Housing planners from

Britain, America and India have already been over to the Netherlands

to check out this bouyant idea so it may be that in the future, this

could be the view you wake up to in the morning.

It's another big weekend of Six Nations rugby action. Today's early

match, Italy against Scotland in Rome has just kicked-off, with both

sides looking for their first win. And last night Wales put in a

thumping 27-6 win over France. That result means Ireland are the only

side unbeaten in the championship now. Centre Brian O'Driscoll will

equal the world record for international caps with 139, when

his side take on England at Twickenham at four this afternoon.

England head coach Stuart Lancaster says the home support will count in

his side's favour. Taking is an inspirational place for

the players and the crowd are behind us. You walk down the corridor of

supporters and it rings it home, the magnitude of the game.

The Winter Olympics in Sochi draws to a close this weekend, and we now

know who will have the honour of carrying Team GB's flag in

tomorrow's closing ceremony. And it'll be Lizzy Yarnold - the gold

medal-winning skeleton superstar will wave the Union flag and lead

her team-mates out in Sunday's grand finale to the Games. Team GB's men

and women curling teams will receive their Olympic medals later this

afternoon. The men took Silva after they lost to Canada in the final

yesterday. It wasn't quite the contest many had hoped for, as David

Murdoch and his team were easily beaten 9-3. The women took bronze on

Thursday. The last men's curling medal was in 1924.

And could Britain bag a bobsleigh medal? We'll be a step closer to

answering that question at 4:30pm today as the men start their

campaign. The four man team are said to be in a confident mood after

winning Silva at the European Championships last month. And its

about time too, the only British bobsleigh gold medal came exactly 50

years ago in Innsbruck. Last up - two giant pandas from

China are on their way to Belgium where they'll be the star

attractions in a zoo there. Jing Hwee, who's a boy, and How How,

who's a girl, are both four years old and have been leased to the zoo

in Belgium for 15 years. They'll arrive tomorrow afternoon.
