Good morning. I'm Ricky. This is

Newsround.

Dua Lipa and Stormzy were the big

winners at last night's Brit Awards.

Check out one of the biggest music

parties of the year.

Let's start with Stormzy.

He had an amazing night -

scooping best male singer

and album of the year.

He was the last to perform,

closing the Brit Awards

show which took place

in London last night.

Dua Lipa was the only

other artist to walk

away with two awards -

she got best female

and breakthrough artist.

And brought her little

brother and sister on stage

with her to collect it.

Every single female that has been

on this stage before me that has

given girls like me not just girls

in the

music industry but girls in society

a place to be inspired by, to look

up to and have allowed

us to dream this big.

Ed Sheeran was also a winner.

Although he lost out

to Stormzy in two categories -

he was given a special award

for global success.

The only award voted

for by the fans was best video.

Harry Styles got that one

for best British video -

although he wasn't there

to collect it.

His One Direction bandmate,

Liam Payne was there -

with his girlfriend,

Cheryl.

He performed with Rita Ora -

singing their single, For You.

Liam Gallager performed Live Forever

in memory of the victims

of the Manchester terror attacks -

at an Ariana Grande

concert last May.

Little Mix were up for Best British

Single and Best British video -

but walked away empty handed.

Winter Olympics stuff now

and to the sport of Curling.

Last night, Great Britain's

men's team failed to get

a place in the semi finals.

But Great Britain s women have made

it - they play Sweden

in the semis tomorrow.

So we thought now was a good time

to give you five fun facts

about the sport itself...

First up, let's take

a look at the shoes.

They don't wear heels,

that's for sure.

Curlers wear two different shoes

when they are on the ice.

On one foot they have a sliding sole

which allows the athlete to slide

when they throw the stone

or when they are sweeping.

On the other foot,

the shoe is just a normal

athletic shoe but the sole has to be

the same thickness as the slider to

keep the curler level.

The ice is a very important

part of the game,

small droplets of water

are sprayed onto it,

that's called pebbling

and

it means the surface is in tiptop

condition for the rocks to glide

smoothly along the surface.

Curling stones are

made out of real rock

called granite.

It's used because it's

so hard and tough.

All curling stones for

competitors around the

world are made in Scotland,

all of the granite used comes

from this rock called Ailsa Craig

on the coast of Ayrshire

which in Gaelic

means 'fairy rock'.

The hog line is this area

of the ice, each player's stone

must go over this line,

if it doesn't, the

stone will be removed from play.

Not good.

Boys and girls, this

could be the most

exciting move in curling,

a

good old-fashioned lunge,

look how much fun she is having.

This technique is used

by the athlete to

make sure they have good

direction and balance

when they are moving

the

stone.

One, two, three, lunge!

Manchester United were held

to a goalless draw at

Sevilla in the first leg

of their Champions

League last 16 tie.

Record signing Paul Pogba

was left on the bench,

although he did replace the injured

Ander Herrera in the first half.

United's David de Gea made

some great saves to keep

the score at nil-nil.

Mourinho's side produced

just six shots compared

with 25 by the home side.

Next up, a giant clock

is being built in Texas in the US

that will only tick once a year!

It's called the 10,000 year clock.

Every 100 years the century hand

will move forward and the cuckoo

comes out every 1000 years.

A special team has spent the last 30

years designing and building

the clock which is buried 150m

deep into a mountain.

So what's the point?

Well, the creators hope it

will enourage people to think more

about time and the impact

we all have on our planet.

I know! I'm none the wiser!

If you're not a fan

of heights, look away now.

Snaking through the mountains

of northern China, this

is the world's longest

glass suspension bridge.

It's nearly 500 metres long

with a vertical drop

of more than 200 metres -

it is supposed to represent a dragon

flying through the valley.

It's designed to take up

to 2000 people at a time.

Incredible.
