Hi, I'm Ricky and this is Newsround.

0:00:040:00:05

Keep watching for all of this.

0:00:050:00:10

With summer holidays on the horizon, we ask where you guys like to go.

0:00:100:00:13

And way to glow!

0:00:130:00:14

Find out what causes this amazing sight.

0:00:140:00:19

First this morning, Liam Payne, Rita Ora, Stormzy and Leona Lewis -

0:00:270:00:33

# Like a bridge over troubled water...#

0:00:330:00:42

Just a few of the names who are helping to raise

0:00:430:00:46

money for those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire

0:00:460:00:49

which happened last week.

0:00:490:00:51

The singers recorded Bridge Over Troubled Water

0:00:510:00:53

to support victims' families.

0:00:530:00:56

The song hit the number one spot on iTunes just two hours

0:00:560:00:59

after it was released.

0:00:590:01:01

The X Factor judge Simon Cowell organised the track.

0:01:010:01:07

I was thinking at the time, raise some money, I also

0:01:070:01:09

thought raise awareness, and I also thought

0:01:090:01:11

raise some support.

0:01:110:01:12

I wanted it to be something that, you know, weeks, months later,

0:01:120:01:15

when you hear the record, you still remember what happened.

0:01:150:01:19

Next, to something that looks like it's from out of this world -

0:01:190:01:24

algae that glows in the dark.

0:01:240:01:25

That's all I'm saying.

0:01:250:01:26

Take a look.

0:01:260:01:29

It's a rare sight, the ocean glowing in the dark.

0:01:290:01:37

Yeah, a couple of salmon out the back jumping out.

0:01:370:01:39

It was like fireworks sort of thing, the water.

0:01:390:01:41

It was pretty cool.

0:01:410:01:42

What you're looking at is Noctiluca scintillansmore, also

0:01:420:01:48

known as sea sparkler.

0:01:480:01:49

When you pick it up, it dribbles through your fingers.

0:01:490:01:51

Whenever it lands on something, it glows.

0:01:510:01:53

Just little splatters of bright glue, I suppose.

0:01:530:01:55

The glow is caused by a natural chemical reaction with algae.

0:01:550:01:58

When a boat drives through it or you put your hand through it,

0:01:580:02:01

the chemical reaction is initiated, as a result of which,

0:02:010:02:03

you get this emission of light.

0:02:030:02:08

Algae are tiny living things that are found in water all the world.

0:02:080:02:14

When the algae is touched, it changes colour from a dull pink

0:02:140:02:17

to a bright electric blue.

0:02:170:02:20

They are not observed as often in the colder waters off Australia

0:02:200:02:23

but more in the sub tropical and warm temperate waters.

0:02:230:02:29

This display was caught on camera at a beach in South Australia.

0:02:290:02:32

The glow is completely harmless, but what a sight!

0:02:320:02:39

Well, it's been pretty hot lately in the UK,

0:02:390:02:41

with yesterday the hottest June day since 1976.

0:02:410:02:47

Keeping cool can be quite tricky, especially for pets.

0:02:470:02:50

Here's some advice on how to help your dog beat the heat.

0:02:500:02:53

Hello, UK.

0:02:530:02:54

It's Caesar Milan here.

0:02:540:02:55

This is my friend, Eddie.

0:02:550:02:56

We're in Singapore.

0:02:560:02:59

We heard you guys have a heat wave right now in the UK,

0:02:590:03:02

which is unusual, but we are going to give you some

0:03:020:03:05

suggestions of what to do.

0:03:050:03:08

Number one, make sure, when you go for a walk,

0:03:080:03:11

it's early morning or late afternoon - that would be ideal for the dog.

0:03:110:03:14

Dogs normally don't walk in the heat.

0:03:140:03:16

Number two, bring water with you.

0:03:160:03:18

Make sure you do short and sweet walks and always find a place

0:03:180:03:21

where you can cool down.

0:03:210:03:23

Number three, after you finish the walk, make sure you put nice,

0:03:230:03:28

cool, compressed towels on his chest.

0:03:280:03:29

Right?

0:03:290:03:31

All right, UK.

0:03:310:03:32

Have fun.

0:03:320:03:42

It's getting nearer to the summer holidays.

0:03:490:03:51

But when it comes to destination, do you prefer to visit somewhere

0:03:510:03:54

you already know or go to somewhere new?

0:03:540:03:56

Whitney has been investigating.

0:03:560:03:57

So, everyone loves a new adventure once in a while, right?

0:03:570:03:59

And with the summer holidays soon approaching, I think you're dreaming

0:03:590:04:02

of that new and exciting destination you could possibly visit to create

0:04:020:04:05

some amazing and wonderful memories.

0:04:050:04:06

I know I am.

0:04:060:04:07

But did you know that one guy believes it's less

0:04:070:04:10

about where you go and more about where you go back to.

0:04:100:04:12

Hi, there.

0:04:120:04:13

I'm Oliver James.

0:04:130:04:14

I'm a psychologist.

0:04:140:04:17

I think, as a child, what you really want

0:04:170:04:21

when you are small is predictability in your holiday destinations.

0:04:210:04:24

Your parents may want to drag you around churches and art

0:04:240:04:29

galleries, but is that what you really want?

0:04:290:04:31

I don't think so.

0:04:310:04:34

What you want is the same beach, the same hills, the same rivers,

0:04:340:04:37

the same lakes, lots of nature.

0:04:370:04:39

When you are ten, you really couldn't care less whether you are

0:04:390:04:42

in France or England.

0:04:420:04:43

Thanks, Dr James, but how many of you agree with his theory?

0:04:430:04:46

I don't really agree with Dr James's statement.

0:04:460:04:53

I've been to a few places on holiday.

0:04:530:04:55

I've been to Wales, Cyprus.

0:04:550:04:56

I've been quite a lot around Europe.

0:04:560:04:59

I think it's best if you travel when you are younger

0:04:590:05:01

and when you are older.

0:05:010:05:02

I like going to the same place every year.

0:05:020:05:05

I think it is nice to go somewhere new after a bit,

0:05:050:05:08

but it's just relaxing to go to the same place,

0:05:080:05:10

do the same thing.

0:05:100:05:11

So, I've been going to Italy for the past two years,

0:05:110:05:14

but before that, I've been going to Cyprus for nine years.

0:05:140:05:17

My parents and my grandparents own a little caravan

0:05:170:05:21

in North Wales and I've been going there since I was

0:05:210:05:24

about three months old.

0:05:240:05:26

I personally like going different places because it's good to get

0:05:260:05:29

new experiences and enjoy going somewhere new.

0:05:290:05:35

Well, whatever the case may be, as long as the sun's out, I'm happy.

0:05:350:05:43

And we want to hear what you've got to say on this one - go online now.

0:05:470:05:51

That's all from me.

0:05:510:05:52

Leah's back with more from Newsround at 4.20pm this afternoon.

0:05:520:05:54

Welcome, one and all. It's Thursday and we're having a ball.

0:06:040:06:07

Eh? Someone's a poet and they know it.

0:06:070:06:09

Do not underestimate my rhyming skills, Rhys.

0:06:090:06:11

Eh, have a bit of this one.

0:06:110:06:13

Coming up next is Little Roy.

0:06:130:06:15

Don't you know he's a cartoon boy?

0:06:150:06:17

Oooh!
