Hi, everyone, I'm Naz, it's Friday and this is Newsround.

The Duke of Cambridge says more must be done

to save elephants from being killed for their tusks.

The animals are being hunted for the ivory in their tusks,

which is then illegally sold around the world to be used

in things like jewellery, ornaments and medicine.

Prince William's been speaking ahead of a big meeting in South Africa

When I was born, there were 1 million elephants roaming Africa.

By the time my daughter Charlotte was born last year,

the numbers of savanna elephants had crashed to just 350,000.

At the current pace of illegal poaching, when Charlotte turns 25,

the African elephants will be gone from the wild.

A six-year-old boy in America has written a letter to President Obama

asking him to let a Syrian refugee come and stay with his family.

Millions of people have been forced to leave their homes in Syria

because of the war that's been going on for more than five years.

Alex's letter was shared by Mr Obama at a big meeting

Now, have you ever wished you could invent a machine

to make life a bit easier - maybe make your toast

in the morning, or pour your glass of orange juice?

Well, that's exactly what this man from New York in America does,

He has invented a machine for just about everything.

Joseph has been making crazy inventions since he was a child.

I made my first machine when I was five years old.

And it was a machine to store my candy.

Obviously, very useful for a five-year-old.

But, also, I noticed it made my parents laugh, and that sort

of encouraged me to keep making more and more machines.

Videos of his wacky inventions have been huge hits online and now

His contraptions are usually to help him out

Often, I notice when things annoy me in day-to-day life,

what can I do to stop that from annoying me?

But Joseph doesn't just solve problems with his machines,

The machines that I make, they are as playful as possible.

And that doesn't make any sense, right?

But, at the same time, humans are actually playful creatures.

So we are drawn to the idea of a playful machine.

From playful machines to playing machines,

the UK's biggest gaming event - EGX - has kicked off in Birmingham.

Thousands of fans will get the chance to check out

all the latest consoles, gadgets and games.

BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat reporter Steffan Powell is there and sent

I am here at EGX, the UK's biggest gaming show.

It's at the NEC in Birmingham and, as you can see, it is pretty busy.

They are expecting around 80,000 people to come here over

Now, this is a big deal because it is the first time many

people will get to play some of the big upcoming titles

So, I thought I would help you out by telling you three things

So, one of them is just behind me here, actually.

You can see it's Skylanders: Imaginators, which is the new take

If you like that, then check out that game.

Back here, just over there, they are testing out

the new PlayStation virtual reality machine.

It is that headset that you put on that can take you off to allsorts

You can play loads of different games on that.

Also, there is a small independent game called Ukelele.

Now, you might not have heard much about it but it is really colourful

and really fun and worth taking a look at as well.

And finally to a different kind of Games - the Paralympics.
