Hi, I'm Naz with your top stories this Friday morning.

:00:07.:00:08.

Behind the scenes on TV's biggest dance competition.

:00:09.:00:12.

And what you need to know from the UK's biggest gaming event.

:00:13.:00:15.

First up, the Duke of Cambridge says more must be done

:00:16.:00:30.

to save elephants from being killed for their tusks.

:00:31.:00:35.

The animals are being hunted for the ivory in their tusks,

:00:36.:00:38.

which is then illegally sold around the world to be used

:00:39.:00:41.

in things like jewellery, ornaments and medicine.

:00:42.:00:42.

Prince William's been speaking ahead of a big meeting in South Africa

:00:43.:00:45.

When I was born, there were 1 million elephants roaming Africa.

:00:46.:00:52.

By the time my daughter Charlotte was born last year,

:00:53.:00:56.

the numbers of savanna elephants had crashed to just 350,000.

:00:57.:01:02.

At the current pace of illegal poaching, when Charlotte turns 25,

:01:03.:01:04.

the African elephants will be gone from the wild.

:01:05.:01:10.

Why is Prince William talking about this, Jenny?

:01:11.:01:14.

Well, this summer, there's been a lot of bad news about elephants.

:01:15.:01:18.

In August, a massive count of African elephants was completed.

:01:19.:01:24.

They used planes to fly over 18 countries and count the number

:01:25.:01:27.

What they found was that the number of elephants was much,

:01:28.:01:36.

much lower than people realised - in fact, almost one in three

:01:37.:01:39.

elephants has disappeared over the last seven years.

:01:40.:01:41.

It's because elephants are being killed for their tusks.

:01:42.:01:43.

They're made of ivory, which is then sold around the world

:01:44.:01:45.

by criminals called poachers, even though it's against the law.

:01:46.:01:48.

Some people even think that if things carry on like this,

:01:49.:01:51.

we could end up with no African elephants left in the wild at all.

:01:52.:01:54.

Well, tomorrow, around 180 countries will start a big meeting

:01:55.:02:00.

in South Africa, to talk about at what's happening with elephants

:02:01.:02:03.

They Betis cursing other endangered animals like right now as well. --

:02:04.:02:17.

they will be discussing what to do about other.

:02:18.:02:18.

They'll be deciding how to stop the illegal selling of ivory

:02:19.:02:21.

I'll be going to South Africa to investigate the problem for

:02:22.:02:25.

We'll find out more about how elephants are protected in nature

:02:26.:02:29.

reserves, we'll see what action is being taken to catch poachers

:02:30.:02:31.

and to stop them killing elephants for their ivory.

:02:32.:02:33.

So make sure you're watching Newsround, online and on TV

:02:34.:02:36.

for loads more from me about conservation, about elephants,

:02:37.:02:38.

and about what the world is going to do to protect them.

:02:39.:02:41.

That is really interesting stuff. Thank you so much, Jenny.

:02:42.:02:43.

And head over to Newsround online, where you can watch more

:02:44.:02:45.

of Prince William talking about the issue

:02:46.:02:47.

And there's also Newsround's guide to the problem of poaching.

:02:48.:02:51.

In other news - get ready to put on your sequins and dancing shoes,

:02:52.:02:54.

to the dance floor for the first live show of the series.

:02:55.:02:59.

BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty's given us a quick

:03:00.:03:01.

I have swapped the red sofa for the red carpet

:03:02.:03:05.

But I am keeping my fingers crossed that I don't trip

:03:06.:03:13.

Good luck. I'm only kidding!

:03:14.:03:17.

You can see him walking up to rehearsals.

:03:18.:03:25.

Now she has started enjoying it more.

:03:26.:03:46.

When you enjoy it, it becomes better and better and

:03:47.:03:48.

I tell you something I have learned about Pasha,

:03:49.:03:55.

Monkey Boy? You see what I have to put up with?

:03:56.:04:08.

Be nice, Pasha! No comments.
