I just won a bronze at the Winter
Olympics. | 0:00:15 | 0:00:21
We talk to an Olympian
straight off the slopes. | 0:00:21 | 0:00:23
It's getting colder,
so is snow on the way? | 0:00:23 | 0:00:25
And Jack tells us
his inspiring story. | 0:00:25 | 0:00:28
First up, medal news for Team GB. | 0:00:36 | 0:00:39
And overnight there was a bronze
for Great Britain - | 0:00:39 | 0:00:41
making this our most
successful Winter Games ever! | 0:00:41 | 0:00:45
Billy Morgan took third place
in the Big Air event in South Korea. | 0:00:45 | 0:00:48
Take a look. | 0:00:48 | 0:00:49
I am super-happy. | 0:00:49 | 0:00:52
I never came into this competition
thinking I was going to get a medal. | 0:00:52 | 0:00:55
I was really happy
to get into the final. | 0:00:55 | 0:00:58
So over the moon to walk
away with a medal. | 0:00:58 | 0:01:00
So Let's take a look
back at Billy's win. | 0:01:00 | 0:01:03
So let's take a look
back at Billy's win. | 0:01:03 | 0:01:05
The second-to-last day
of the Winter Olympics, | 0:01:05 | 0:01:12
And Billy Morgan was the hero. | 0:01:12 | 0:01:14
A chance for the big jumpers to show
off their skills in the Big Air | 0:01:14 | 0:01:18
event in South Korea. | 0:01:18 | 0:01:19
A huge 49-metre ramp stands in front
of Billy and medal glory. | 0:01:19 | 0:01:22
Complicated tricks and a nice clean
landing are what's needed | 0:01:22 | 0:01:24
to impress the judges. | 0:01:24 | 0:01:25
He'd only just qualified
for the final - but on his | 0:01:25 | 0:01:28
second jump, he did this. | 0:01:28 | 0:01:30
COMMENTATOR: He holds it up. | 0:01:30 | 0:01:31
Yes! | 0:01:31 | 0:01:33 | |
It was huge and put the nose grab
on it, the hardest grab. | 0:01:33 | 0:01:36
Yes, Billy. | 0:01:36 | 0:01:39
That left one last chance to secure
a spot in the medal positions. | 0:01:39 | 0:01:42
Billy Morgan, yes. | 0:01:42 | 0:01:44
Oh, yes! | 0:01:44 | 0:01:46
Billy Morgan with the double grab
frontside triple 14. | 0:01:46 | 0:01:48
That is massive, it's huge. | 0:01:48 | 0:01:51
85.5. | 0:01:53 | 0:01:55 | |
Billy Morgan moves into
bronze medal position. | 0:01:55 | 0:01:58
And a very long, nervous wait. | 0:01:58 | 0:02:01
Canada's Max Parrow was his biggest
threat for the bronze medal. | 0:02:02 | 0:02:06
But he had a bit of a nightmare
and crashed out on his final jump. | 0:02:06 | 0:02:10
So Billy did it! | 0:02:10 | 0:02:12
An injury last year meant he almost
missed out on the Games. | 0:02:12 | 0:02:16
But lots of hard work meant that
instead, he helped Team GB come home | 0:02:16 | 0:02:20
with a fifth medal to make
it their best performance | 0:02:20 | 0:02:23
at a Winter Olympics ever. | 0:02:23 | 0:02:26
So does he have any tips for any
of you guys who fancy competing | 0:02:26 | 0:02:29
in the Games one day? | 0:02:29 | 0:02:32
My tips for getting
into snowboarding are find out | 0:02:32 | 0:02:34
where your local dry slope
or snow dome is. | 0:02:34 | 0:02:36
And get down there
and just at having fun. | 0:02:36 | 0:02:40
And get down there and
just start having fun. | 0:02:40 | 0:02:42
Snowboarding is such a fun sport. | 0:02:42 | 0:02:44
There is some much you can do
with it that I think | 0:02:44 | 0:02:47
everybody should try it. | 0:02:47 | 0:02:48
If you haven't done it yet,
get down to your local dry slope | 0:02:48 | 0:02:51
or snow dome and give it a shot. | 0:02:51 | 0:02:53
I am sure you will love it. | 0:02:53 | 0:02:54
Get your hats and gloves
on and get wrapped up! | 0:02:54 | 0:02:57
Why? | 0:02:57 | 0:02:58 | |
Well, the Beast from
the East is on its way! | 0:02:58 | 0:03:00
What am I talking about? | 0:03:00 | 0:03:02
Well, take a look at this... | 0:03:02 | 0:03:04
The gritters are getting
ready as Britain braces | 0:03:04 | 0:03:06
itself for a big freeze. | 0:03:06 | 0:03:07
What weather forecasters
are calling the | 0:03:07 | 0:03:10
Beast from the East is sweeping
in from Siberia in Russia. | 0:03:10 | 0:03:14
Basically, there's lots of cold air
hanging around there - | 0:03:14 | 0:03:17
and easterly winds are blowing it
all over to the UK. | 0:03:17 | 0:03:21
Weather experts have issued
a cold weather alert | 0:03:21 | 0:03:23
for the whole of the country. | 0:03:23 | 0:03:27
It's a level three warning,
which means there's a 99% chance | 0:03:27 | 0:03:29
of icy conditions or snow
between now and Thursday. | 0:03:29 | 0:03:35
It's certainly not the first snow
we'll have this winter. | 0:03:35 | 0:03:43
It's certainly not the first snow
we've had this winter. | 0:03:45 | 0:03:47
But it could feel chillier
because of the wind. | 0:03:47 | 0:03:50
Next week, it's supposed to be
the official start of spring - | 0:03:50 | 0:03:53
but it looks like that's
going to be delayed. | 0:03:53 | 0:03:55
Don't put away those hats
and gloves just yet! | 0:03:55 | 0:03:57

Here on Newsround, we love hearing
about your amazing lives, | 0:04:09 | 0:04:15
so we've travelled the country
to hear some of your | 0:04:15 | 0:04:18
inspiring stories. | 0:04:18 | 0:04:19
One of the people we met was Jack. | 0:04:19 | 0:04:21
Watch this. | 0:04:21 | 0:04:24
I have ADHD, dyspraxia and autism. | 0:04:24 | 0:04:28
I have problems
communicating with children. | 0:04:28 | 0:04:30
And making friends. | 0:04:30 | 0:04:34
Hello. | 0:04:34 | 0:04:34
My name's Jack. | 0:04:34 | 0:04:37
I'm ten years old and when I was
little, I was not able to speak. | 0:04:37 | 0:04:41
And I had speech and
language therapy, but that | 0:04:41 | 0:04:43
didn't really help me. | 0:04:43 | 0:04:45
I used to do head-banging
whenever I wanted something. | 0:04:45 | 0:04:48
I had to wear a red solid helmet. | 0:04:48 | 0:04:51
It was just so sad for me. | 0:04:51 | 0:04:53
I just hated it. | 0:04:53 | 0:04:56
My first music lesson,
a singing teacher was playing | 0:04:56 | 0:05:02
the piano and then I started
to sing "la la la". | 0:05:02 | 0:05:05
I was like, oh, my God! | 0:05:05 | 0:05:06
I can speak! | 0:05:06 | 0:05:08
But basically, I had to learn
a word by singing it, | 0:05:08 | 0:05:10
and then speaking it. | 0:05:10 | 0:05:11
So once I've got a word,
I've got it for basically like life. | 0:05:11 | 0:05:15
Music really relaxes me,
because when I'm getting | 0:05:15 | 0:05:20
all stressed, it's like someone's
putting a spell on me that I can, | 0:05:20 | 0:05:23
like, music makes me so happy. | 0:05:23 | 0:05:26
If there is any other children
like me who have problems speaking, | 0:05:26 | 0:05:29
find something that will relax you,
like for example drawing, | 0:05:29 | 0:05:33
or music or anything
that will relax you. | 0:05:33 | 0:05:39
Now I start speaking,
my mum says I never stop speaking. | 0:05:39 | 0:05:44
And I think that's because I need
to make up for all the years | 0:05:44 | 0:05:47
when I wasn't speaking. | 0:05:47 | 0:05:50
Great stuff, Jack. | 0:05:50 | 0:05:54
That's it from me.
I'm back in an hour. | 0:05:54 | 0:05:56
See you then. | 0:05:56 | 0:05:59 |
