It's Thursday morning and this is your live Newsround update. | :00:07. | :00:11.
In today's programme we're looking at what's been happening in Belgium. | :00:12. | :00:24.
Tributes have continued overnight, as people come together to remember | :00:25. | :00:26.
the victims of the attacks on Belgium's capital, | :00:27. | :00:28.
In London last night, landmarks were lit up in the colours | :00:29. | :00:37.
People also continued to gather in a central square | :00:38. | :00:41.
Anna Foster sent this report especially for Newsround. | :00:42. | :00:46.
This is a place called the Place de la Bourse, | :00:47. | :00:49.
a big public square right in the middle of Brussels. | :00:50. | :00:53.
You can see hundreds of people have come out here today, | :00:54. | :00:55.
They have put big flags on these steps here. | :00:56. | :00:59.
They've got balloons as well in the same colours, | :01:00. | :01:05.
and if you look down here you can see all of the candles that people | :01:06. | :01:08.
have brought to light, and there are big tubs of chalk | :01:09. | :01:11.
as well and people are writing messages. | :01:12. | :01:13.
There are lots of children who have come here as well to remember | :01:14. | :01:16.
the people who were caught up in the attacks here yesterday. | :01:17. | :01:23.
Lots of people came overnight tonight to light candles as well. | :01:24. | :01:25.
Lots of people have come from work with flowers. | :01:26. | :01:27.
The children were back at school today but lots of them were quiet | :01:28. | :01:30.
for a minute earlier today, to remember the people | :01:31. | :01:33.
who were caught up and involved in those attacks here | :01:34. | :01:35.
As you saw there, it's not just grown ups who are visiting | :01:36. | :01:42.
Many children have gone there as well, from all over the world. | :01:43. | :01:49.
TRANSLATION: I am here to show my sympathy with the families | :01:50. | :02:00.
We want to show that we are sad, and we are also | :02:01. | :02:04.
Well, the extremist group who call themselves IS have said they carried | :02:05. | :02:09.
So I've been looking in to who they are and what is being | :02:10. | :02:13.
done to try and keep people safe from them. | :02:14. | :02:16.
IS are a group based in the Middle East, mainly | :02:17. | :02:18.
They have extreme religious beliefs and use brutal violence | :02:19. | :02:21.
against anyone who doesn't agree with their views. | :02:22. | :02:24.
They claim to follow the religion of Islam but many people | :02:25. | :02:26.
say their beliefs of hatred and violence have little to do | :02:27. | :02:29.
with Islam and what the majority of Muslims believe. | :02:30. | :02:34.
Since early 2014 IS has grown quickly, using the internet | :02:35. | :02:36.
and social media to recruit followers and spread fear. | :02:37. | :02:39.
They've been able to take over large parts of Syria and neighbouring | :02:40. | :02:42.
Iraq, declaring this their own state and punishing anyone who doesn't | :02:43. | :02:44.
Lots of different groups are fighting in Syria, | :02:45. | :02:52.
and nations around the world can't agree on who they want to control | :02:53. | :02:55.
What does unite most of the world is the desire to stop | :02:56. | :03:01.
IS because of how violent their methods are. | :03:02. | :03:07.
IS claimed they carried out the attacks in Paris, | :03:08. | :03:09.
the capital of France, last year, and also the attacks in the Belgian | :03:10. | :03:12.
Last year, the UK joined the US and France in bombing some areas | :03:13. | :03:19.
The UK's Prime Minister David Cameron argued, | :03:20. | :03:26.
in Parliament, that bombing IS was one way to try to stop them. | :03:27. | :03:30.
But some people feel that the bombs also affect too many innocent people | :03:31. | :03:36.
living in Syria and that the UK shouldn't be involved. | :03:37. | :03:39.
Following the attacks on Brussels, there has been extra security put | :03:40. | :03:42.
in place across the UK and other parts of Europe, | :03:43. | :03:44.
with police forces working together to try and keep people safe. | :03:45. | :03:51.
If you have questions about what's happened in Brussels head online | :03:52. | :03:54.
We'll be putting them to the BBC's security expert Frank | :03:55. | :04:00.
And if you're upset by anything you hear | :04:01. | :04:05.
on the news there's advice online too. | :04:06. | :04:12.
Now, the people of New Zealand have been voting about whether or not | :04:13. | :04:15.
they should change their national flag. | :04:16. | :04:17.
The results of the vote have just been announced, | :04:18. | :04:26.
and it loks like they have decided to stick with their old flag | :04:27. | :04:29.
which shows four stars and the Union Jack. | :04:30. | :04:33.
The final result will be delivered next Wednesday. | :04:34. | :04:38.
To footy now, and Wales and Northern Ireland meet in Cardiff | :04:39. | :04:41.
tonight for a friendly game ahead of this summer's Euros. | :04:42. | :04:44.
Both teams have waited a long time to reach a major competition, | :04:45. | :04:47.
but Wales - who will play Ukraine on Monday - | :04:48. | :04:49.
will be missing two star players, Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey, | :04:50. | :04:52.
Here's how manager Wales manager Chris Coleman feels | :04:53. | :04:55.
Two important games for us, as it always is. | :04:56. | :05:00.
I know everybody says, you know, two friendly games, | :05:01. | :05:02.
but I've never ever gone into a game for Wales thinking that it doesn't | :05:03. | :05:05.
matter, and neither do the players, so it is a big one for us. | :05:06. | :05:10.
More football next - but with a difference. | :05:11. | :05:13.
The winners of the Fifa Interactive World Cup were announced | :05:14. | :05:15.
British video game fanatic Sean Allen came second place, | :05:16. | :05:22.
losing out to Danish player, Mohammed Al-Bacha. | :05:23. | :05:28.
So I actually came in as late replacement, only last Tuesday | :05:29. | :05:31.
was when I actually got the confirmation that | :05:32. | :05:33.
So it's all been a surreal week for me, and I came in second - | :05:34. | :05:37.
obviously that's a great result but I'm devastated I didn't | :05:38. | :05:40.
Finally, this could be the cutest thing you'll see all day. | :05:41. | :05:43.
Five cheetah cubs who were orphaned just after they were born | :05:44. | :05:46.
The cubs are enjoying cuddling up with Blakely, a five-year-old male | :05:47. | :05:51.
He's stepped in to keep the cubs warm, and he even lets them climb | :05:52. | :05:56. |
