Hi, I'm Martin - this is Newsround live.

0:00:030:00:07

Coming up:

0:00:070:00:09

The latest toys are revealed at a big show in London.

0:00:090:00:12

Och, aye the noo!

0:00:120:00:15

You tell us how you're celebrating Burns Night.

0:00:150:00:19

And why this trick is breaking records.

0:00:190:00:22

First up, there's been a really important decision about how the UK

0:00:300:00:33

will leave a club of countries called the European Union.

0:00:330:00:35

Here's Jenny with more.

0:00:350:00:43

Six months ago, the UK voted to leave the EU.

0:00:430:00:45

How this will happen has been argued about ever since.

0:00:450:00:47

So the Supreme Court -

0:00:470:00:49

where the most important judges in Britain sit -

0:00:490:00:51

was asked to make a decision

0:00:510:00:52

about who decides to tell the European Union

0:00:520:00:54

that the UK is leaving.

0:00:540:00:57

So, Britain is going to tell the EU it's leaving

0:00:570:01:01

by using something called Article 50.

0:01:010:01:02

And the Prime Minister Theresa May

0:01:020:01:03

thought it should be the UK Government's decision

0:01:030:01:05

about when to use it.

0:01:050:01:09

But others thought that Parliament - where MPs make and vote on laws -

0:01:090:01:13

should do it instead.

0:01:130:01:14

The Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish governments

0:01:140:01:16

also thought they should have their say.

0:01:160:01:17

The Supreme Court has now said that its just the UK Parliament

0:01:170:01:20

which gets to decide about Article 50.

0:01:200:01:22

So now all MPs get to vote on it.

0:01:220:01:25

They are expected to decide that the UK should start saying

0:01:250:01:29

goodbye to the European Union.

0:01:290:01:34

Theresa May wants that to happen by the end of March.

0:01:340:01:38

And don't forget, there's loads more info about that big decision

0:01:380:01:43

and what leaving the European Union could mean for the UK online.

0:01:430:01:48

Tennis now and Britain's Johanna Konta has been knocked out

0:01:480:01:50

of the Australian Open by Serena Williams.

0:01:500:01:52

Konta went into the quarter-finals on a nine-match winning streak

0:01:520:01:57

but Serena was just to strong for her, winning in straight sets.

0:01:570:02:02

but Serena was just too strong for her, winning in straight sets.

0:02:020:02:05

Williams is now two wins from winning her 23rd major title.

0:02:050:02:09

Well, I think overall, she played at a higher level

0:02:090:02:11

than I did today and I think she showed why she is arguably

0:02:110:02:15

one of the best of all time.

0:02:150:02:19

And staying with tennis,

0:02:190:02:20

and defending wheelchair singles champion Gordon Reid

0:02:200:02:22

is also out of the Australian Open.

0:02:220:02:24

The Scot was beaten in three sets by Belgian player Joachim Gerard.

0:02:240:02:28

There are now no Brits left in the tournament.

0:02:280:02:33

Now if you love toys, you'll love this.

0:02:330:02:34

Imagine a huge hall filled with all the latest gadgets and games.

0:02:340:02:39

The London Toy Fair is on at the moment and

0:02:390:02:41

BBC technology reporter Zoe Kleinman went along to check it out.

0:02:410:02:46

From robot hamsters to electric scooters, there are hundreds of toys

0:02:460:02:49

on display here at the Toy Fair in London, including some

0:02:490:02:52

we've never seen before.

0:02:520:02:56

These wristbands are coming out this year and they turn

0:02:560:02:59

you into a human beatbox.

0:02:590:03:00

Every time you move your arms, you create a beat.

0:03:000:03:02

Are you ready?

0:03:020:03:03

Let's have a go, then.

0:03:030:03:04

Shall I start?

0:03:040:03:05

Are you ready?

0:03:050:03:07

DRUMBEAT

0:03:070:03:13

So there you go, you can see it's lots of fun and it's designed to get

0:03:130:03:17

you moving and also get you interested in music.

0:03:170:03:21

The weird thing about this show is there are so many cool toys

0:03:250:03:28

but only grown-ups to play with them,

0:03:280:03:30

and that's because it is for shopkeepers

0:03:300:03:32

to decide what they want to sell on to you.

0:03:320:03:35

So it may be a little while before you can

0:03:350:03:38

get your hands into one of these.

0:03:380:03:42

SHE LAUGHS

0:03:420:03:45

Yes!

0:03:450:03:48

Now, lots of you guys might be celebrating

0:03:480:03:50

Robert Burns' birthday today

0:03:500:03:51

with food, music, poetry and perhaps a spot of dancing.

0:03:510:03:55

The famous 18th century poet is remembered every year

0:03:550:03:59

for his contribution to Scottish culture.

0:03:590:04:02

You've been telling us more about his life

0:04:020:04:07

and Burns Night traditions.

0:04:070:04:08

Today is Robbert Burns Day.

0:04:080:04:09

Robert Burns was a Scottish poet.

0:04:090:04:11

We celebrate his birthday because the Scottish are very proud

0:04:110:04:13

of what he achieved in his life.

0:04:130:04:15

He was a very good writer.

0:04:150:04:17

He used the Scottish dialect.

0:04:170:04:20

Burns wrote most of his poems in Scots, but his work has been

0:04:200:04:23

translated into over 40 languages.

0:04:230:04:25

Och, aye the noo!

0:04:250:04:28

He wrote the tune for Auld Lang Syne and the poem the Selkirk Grace.

0:04:280:04:32

A traditional Burns supper consists of haggis,

0:04:320:04:36

neeps and tatties.

0:04:360:04:37

Robert Burns wrote a special poem called Address The Haggis

0:04:370:04:41

which is sometimes read before the start of your supper.

0:04:410:04:44

And there will be also lots of Scottish country dancing

0:04:440:04:47

happening at ceilidhs.

0:04:470:04:49

And if you want to find out more about Burns Night,

0:04:580:05:01

go to our guide online.

0:05:010:05:05

A lifeboat station in Yorkshire has gone

0:05:050:05:06

and got itself a new mascot - Basil, the fox.

0:05:060:05:10

Although he isn't kept as a pet,

0:05:100:05:15

the wild animal pops in on a regular basis to say hello to the station.

0:05:150:05:19

As you can see, he's not camera shy

0:05:190:05:21

and staff say he's nearly as tame as a pet dog.

0:05:210:05:23

Now I don't know about you,

0:05:230:05:25

but I've heard of people doing back-flips off a diving board,

0:05:250:05:27

on a trampoline and sometimes even on a football pitch -

0:05:270:05:30

but this has blown my mind.

0:05:300:05:31

Take a look.

0:05:310:05:32

31-year-old Swedish freestyler Daniel Bodin has become the

0:05:320:05:34

first person to ever successfully complete a double back-flip

0:05:340:05:37

on a snowmobile.

0:05:370:05:44

People have been trying do this trick since 2009,

0:05:440:05:46

but it's taken eight years for someone to succeed,

0:05:460:05:49

and, as you can see, he was pretty happy.

0:05:490:05:53

That's all from me,

0:05:530:06:00

Newsround's back this afternoon with Jenny.
