Hey, I'm Whitney with your slightly different looking Friday Newsround.

0:00:040:00:07

Coming up in the next few minutes...

0:00:070:00:10

Are robots going to change YOUR future?

0:00:100:00:12

And why these little fellas are causing problems in Berlin.

0:00:120:00:18

Yes, Newsround is looking a bit different while we wait

0:00:250:00:27

for a new set, so keep watching for that!

0:00:270:00:30

But first, more and more robots are doing jobs

0:00:300:00:32

that people used to do,

0:00:320:00:33

and 11-year-old Newsrounder Jasmine, wanted us to investigate

0:00:330:00:40

whether this affects how many jobs there are for people.

0:00:400:00:42

So we sent Jasmine out to find out more.

0:00:420:00:47

Me and my friends are worried about robots taking over

0:00:470:00:49

our jobs in the future.

0:00:490:00:51

So I've come to Bristol Robotics Lab to see what robots can do.

0:00:510:00:55

How are robots changing the types of jobs people have?

0:00:550:00:58

So we're seeing a lot more robots in jobs that don't

0:00:580:01:02

take complex thinking.

0:01:020:01:04

I went to San Francisco recently and there's a cafe

0:01:040:01:06

there where all the coffees are made by robots.

0:01:060:01:09

Do you think changes are a good thing or bad thing?

0:01:090:01:12

We're seeing more and more robots designed for helping people.

0:01:120:01:16

Going in if there is a natural disaster and

0:01:160:01:18

taking food, taking aid.

0:01:180:01:21

If robots can be used for good, that's great.

0:01:210:01:25

But we are seeing people losing their jobs

0:01:250:01:27

and that's happening quickly.

0:01:270:01:28

In the future, it's possible we won't need to drive cars

0:01:280:01:31

because they'll drive themselves.

0:01:310:01:34

What happens to people like taxi or lorry drivers

0:01:340:01:36

who drive for their job?

0:01:360:01:38

A driverless car, you don't really need the driver.

0:01:380:01:42

So we really need to look carefully at what other jobs we can find

0:01:420:01:46

for these people to make sure that they don't become jobless.

0:01:460:01:51

Would you like to have a go in the simulator?

0:01:510:01:54

Yes.

0:01:540:01:56

It's going by itself.

0:01:560:01:57

It sees the other car coming from the right.

0:01:570:02:00

It stops.

0:02:000:02:01

It makes sure.

0:02:010:02:02

And we have no accident.

0:02:020:02:04

It's not just driverless cars, all types of jobs could be

0:02:040:02:07

taken over by robots.

0:02:070:02:08

What can I do to prepare for the changes in the future?

0:02:080:02:11

We know there are going to be some jobs that you just

0:02:110:02:14

can't have robots doing.

0:02:140:02:16

If you are a nurse, if you are a carer, it's very,

0:02:160:02:19

very difficult for a robot to really have that human interaction.

0:02:190:02:24

Also we need people that are programming the robots,

0:02:240:02:28

hopefully for good things in the future.

0:02:280:02:31

I had a really fun day today.

0:02:310:02:32

I think robots are good because they help people

0:02:320:02:35

with disabilities, but I also think they're bad because

0:02:350:02:37

people lose their jobs.

0:02:370:02:41

Now, they might look like a cross between a lobster and a prawn

0:02:410:02:44

but crayfish are causing problems in Berlin where there has been

0:02:440:02:48

a crayfish invasion.

0:02:480:02:50

Locals have seen the creatures lurking around the lakes

0:02:500:02:53

of Berlin's Tiergarten and even roaming the pathways.

0:02:530:02:57

Protection officers believe that the crayfish arrived

0:02:570:03:00

in the lakes after private owners tried to get rid of them.

0:03:000:03:04

Next to rugby, and England's women are getting ready

0:03:040:03:06

to defend their title at the Rugby World Cup

0:03:060:03:08

final tomorrow.

0:03:080:03:10

They'll be taking on New Zealand at the match in Belfast.

0:03:100:03:12

We caught up with some rugby fans to find out what a World Cup

0:03:120:03:16

win would mean to them.

0:03:160:03:19

Rugby is fun, awesome and tiring.

0:03:190:03:23

Amazing, fun and awesome.

0:03:230:03:25

Great, wonderful and fun.

0:03:250:03:27

I feel really happy that the England team are in the final.

0:03:270:03:34

It's exciting and it makes me feel really happy.

0:03:340:03:36

England in the finals is really exciting.

0:03:360:03:40

I am really excited because I can't wait for England to be

0:03:400:03:44

the champions again.

0:03:440:03:46

Seeing England in the final is good and I can't wait to see them play

0:03:460:03:50

New Zealand so they can win their World Cup.

0:03:500:03:54

They have a chance to be one of the best teams in the world.

0:03:540:03:57

England and New Zealand are both really good teams.

0:03:570:04:00

I think England will win but only by a narrow score.

0:04:000:04:05

England, just try your hardest and we will all be proud of you.

0:04:050:04:10

Keep working hard because that's the best they can do.

0:04:100:04:13

Good luck, England.

0:04:130:04:15

We believe in you.

0:04:150:04:17

Good luck, England.

0:04:170:04:18

I hope you win.

0:04:180:04:20

My good luck message to the England women is to keep their heads

0:04:200:04:25

up and hope they win and play really well.

0:04:250:04:28

Good luck, England!

0:04:280:04:34

Finally, visitors at Edinburgh Zoo were delighted when this baby koala

0:04:340:04:38

jumped out of its mothers pouch.

0:04:380:04:40

The new arrival to the UK's only group of koalas was born seven

0:04:400:04:44

months ago and will remain at the park for the next 12 months

0:04:440:04:47

until it becomes independent.

0:04:470:04:50

That's all from me.

0:04:500:04:51

Newsround's back tomorrow with Martin.

0:04:510:04:53

See you then.

0:04:530:04:54

Bye.
