Good morning, I'm Ricky with your first Newsround of the week.

:00:12.:00:15.

Did you know today it's 20 years since we met Harry Potter?

:00:16.:00:23.

On this day in 1997, the first Harry Potter book was released,

:00:24.:00:25.

and a lot of the ideas for his wizarding adventures came

:00:26.:00:28.

from real-life places right here in the UK.

:00:29.:00:30.

Jenny's been to check out our top five.

:00:31.:00:32.

The first stop on our Harry Potter tour is a little cafe in the heart

:00:33.:00:36.

of Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh.

:00:37.:00:39.

This is the place where JK Rowling used to come to write

:00:40.:00:43.

the Harry Potter books, and she'd sit in this exact seat.

:00:44.:00:46.

Now people come from around the world to visit it.

:00:47.:00:49.

And if you look out of the window from this spot, there's one pretty

:00:50.:00:52.

big clue about where the idea for her wizarding school came from.

:00:53.:00:58.

Our second landmark, Edinburgh Castle,

:00:59.:01:00.

"Perched atop a high mountain, it's windows sparkling in the starry sky,

:01:01.:01:08.

was a vast castle with many turrets and towers."

:01:09.:01:13.

The books are packed full of characters with unusual names -

:01:14.:01:22.

Sirius Black, Albus Dumbledore, Narcissa Malfoy.

:01:23.:01:26.

Some of them she got from the names of flowers, stars,

:01:27.:01:28.

Others she got from places like this.

:01:29.:01:35.

Four, the reptile house at London Zoo.

:01:36.:01:39.

Potter fans will recognise this as the first place where we really

:01:40.:01:42.

"It was cool and dark in here, with little windows

:01:43.:01:49.

Harry sat up and gasped - the glass front of the boa

:01:50.:01:55.

Five, King's Cross station, London, where our journey comes to an end

:01:56.:02:00.

Not only does he meet his best friend Ron here, but it's also

:02:01.:02:06.

the spot where he takes the Hogwarts Express

:02:07.:02:08.

A scarlet steam engine was waiting next to a platform

:02:09.:02:13.

A sign overhead said 'Hogwarts Express, 11 o'clock,'

:02:14.:02:18.

Lots of view have found the Harry Potter books really helpful. Have a

:02:19.:02:40.

look at this. I love Harry Potter because it's

:02:41.:02:42.

just an amazing story, it's I love Harry Potter because it's

:02:43.:02:44.

such a creative and imaginative series of books, and it

:02:45.:02:48.

allows your imagination It's just one of those things that

:02:49.:02:50.

when you're feeling sad, just pick up a Harry Potter

:02:51.:02:58.

and suddenly you get taken away If I was feeling sad or something,

:02:59.:03:01.

I just read Harry Potter and I start Everything they do is kind

:03:02.:03:05.

of teaching you just Recently I had to deal

:03:06.:03:09.

with the death of my grandad and I found that really upsetting,

:03:10.:03:12.

but then I looked back at Harry Potter and he's such

:03:13.:03:16.

a courageous character, and I just looked back

:03:17.:03:19.

at the quotes, for example, "Happiness can be found in even

:03:20.:03:24.

the darkest places," and that just It's really inspiring to see how

:03:25.:03:27.

much someone can go through, and when he's talking to Ron he's

:03:28.:03:33.

still happy at the same time. I moved earlier this year

:03:34.:03:36.

and I think that when I read Harry Potter it helped me because it

:03:37.:03:41.

helped me with the transition I made, because of the transition

:03:42.:03:45.

he made when he went from growing up with muggles to going

:03:46.:03:49.

to a wizarding school. If I'm down, I just pick up

:03:50.:03:53.

the book and my mind goes Harry Potter has definitely

:03:54.:03:57.

inspired me to write more stories and do more writing at home

:03:58.:04:03.

when I'm bored. I just go and grab Harry Potter

:04:04.:04:07.

And The Goblet Of Fire, It's been a packed weekend

:04:08.:04:10.

of music at Glastonbury, and Ed Sheeran closed the festival

:04:11.:04:28.

with an amazing set. Ed played without a band as usual

:04:29.:04:33.

and got the crowd to sing along with him on his hits such

:04:34.:04:36.

as Thinking Out Loud Next, this bull is definitely

:04:37.:04:39.

not a cricket fan. The cheeky animal interrupted this

:04:40.:04:48.

match in Bollington, Nobody was hurt and, once the bull

:04:49.:04:50.

had gone, play continued. That's all from me, Newsround's back

:04:51.:04:54.

right here in about half-an-hour. Good morning.

:04:55.:04:58.

Now, a quick question for you - have you ever heard of

:04:59.:05:08.

an animal called a pyrosome?

:05:09.:05:13.
