Hi guys. Leah here with a world famous baby and news of how Louis | :00:00. | :00:09.
from One D's footy debut drew record crowds on the way. I came from | :00:10. | :00:16.
Glasgow this morning. It was three trains and a bus. I want to meet | :00:17. | :00:22.
Louis Tomlinson really really bad. But first this morning there's been | :00:23. | :00:25.
calls for tighter controls on buying added extras for online games by a | :00:26. | :00:28.
mum who's son racked up a ?4,000 bill playing FIFA 14. The | :00:29. | :00:34.
13-year-old says he didn't realise how much he'd spent after buying | :00:35. | :00:38.
several player packs with his mum's credit card, which was registered to | :00:39. | :00:42.
the game. Mum Sue says it shouldn't be that easy. EA Sports who make | :00:43. | :00:46.
FIFA 14, were contacted but declined to comment. Next, you might not know | :00:47. | :00:52.
it but bananas are big business. They're Britain's favourite fruit, | :00:53. | :00:54.
and we go through around five billion each year. But while you can | :00:55. | :00:59.
pick one up at your local supermarket for under a pound, the | :01:00. | :01:02.
farmers who grow them now say it's getting harder to sell them for the | :01:03. | :01:06.
current low prices. Here's Nel with more. Most people don't think about | :01:07. | :01:09.
what it takes to get their favourite foods like the humble banana from | :01:10. | :01:13.
the farm to the shop and into their lunch bags. A third of them are | :01:14. | :01:17.
produced by Fair Trade farmers who are supposed to get a fair price for | :01:18. | :01:21.
growing them in developing countries like Colombia, Ecuador and Ghana. | :01:22. | :01:24.
So, bananas like these travel thousands of miles before they end | :01:25. | :01:27.
up in supermarkets in the UK and they want to keep the prices as low | :01:28. | :01:31.
as possible to keep their customers happy, but the Fair Trade Foundation | :01:32. | :01:34.
say that this is causing money problems for the farms that grow | :01:35. | :01:40.
them. A single banana from somewhere like South America can cost as | :01:41. | :01:43.
little as 11p and that's compared to an apple from the UK that costs | :01:44. | :01:47.
around 20p. So all the time, living costs for farmers is going up and up | :01:48. | :01:52.
and up. The price bananas are being sold at is getting less and less. | :01:53. | :01:56.
The British Retail Consortium are the people who represent | :01:57. | :01:59.
supermarkets and they told Newsround that producers and customers are | :02:00. | :02:04.
getting a good price. They say the price for bananas is agreed with the | :02:05. | :02:08.
producers. Juliet is a farmer from Ghana in Africa. She's been trading | :02:09. | :02:13.
with the UK for 14 years. What's it like to be a banana farmer? It's | :02:14. | :02:19.
very tough. It takes a lot of time to get it right. You have to work in | :02:20. | :02:24.
the sun and get up very early in the morning just to make things go well | :02:25. | :02:28.
on the farm. What kind of changes do you want to see in the price of | :02:29. | :02:33.
bananas? There's a lot of things in our community we need to change. We | :02:34. | :02:37.
have to be paid well. We have to take care of our kids. We have to | :02:38. | :02:41.
improve living conditions and the environment and therefore, the price | :02:42. | :02:44.
should be improved. The Fair Trade Foundation says it will continue to | :02:45. | :02:48.
work with the government, big business and the farmers who grow | :02:49. | :02:51.
our bananas to make sure everyone gets a good deal. Footy news and | :02:52. | :02:56.
Chelsea became the first English team not to lose the first leg of a | :02:57. | :03:00.
Champions League last 16 game this season last night. Fernando Torres | :03:01. | :03:04.
helping them to a 1-1 draw with Turkish side Galatasaray. But that | :03:05. | :03:09.
wasn't the big footy game of the night. Oh no, this was. Louis from | :03:10. | :03:13.
One Direction's long-awaited debut for Doncaster Rovers reserves. | :03:14. | :03:19.
There's no denying Directioners are a dedicated bunch. Some queued for | :03:20. | :03:24.
11 hours to catch a glimpse of Louis heading out on the pitch for | :03:25. | :03:27.
Doncaster Rovers. I came from Glasgow this morning. It was three | :03:28. | :03:32.
trains and a bus and I got here just now. I want to meet Louis Tomlinson | :03:33. | :03:36.
really bad. Like, really, really bad. I've been trying for three | :03:37. | :03:40.
years and it has never happened. While fans know him more for being | :03:41. | :03:44.
part of one of the most successful bands of all time, yesterday the | :03:45. | :03:48.
BRIT Award winner was a living out a life long dream. Heading out on | :03:49. | :03:52.
pitch for Doncaster Rovers. Louis played for 25 minutes, and although | :03:53. | :03:56.
the match finished 0-0, Louis was still delighted. I mean, it's | :03:57. | :04:01.
absolutely amazing. I was just thinking, those boys get to do that | :04:02. | :04:05.
every week and it really is such an honour to be involved in a club that | :04:06. | :04:09.
I spent most of my childhood going down to the games. Just putting the | :04:10. | :04:13.
shirt on is just boyhood dreams. A reserves match like this usually | :04:14. | :04:16.
pulls in just 100 people but last night 5,400 people turned up. And | :04:17. | :04:21.
with tickets costing around ?7.00, all the money went to a children's | :04:22. | :04:27.
hospice. Amazing story and we want to know which celeb you'd want in | :04:28. | :04:31.
your footy team and why over on the Newsround website now. Finally, some | :04:32. | :04:35.
of you might dream of one day being famous but a baby in America's hit | :04:36. | :04:39.
the headlines within a few hours of being born. Polly here, who's | :04:40. | :04:42.
British, realised her baby was on the way but couldn't flag down a cab | :04:43. | :04:46.
in time. She had to give birth on the kerb during rush hour but lots | :04:47. | :04:50.
of people were on hand to help. It's big news in America and both mother | :04:51. | :04:54.
and daughter are doing well in hospital. That's it for now, but | :04:55. | :04:58.
we'll be right back here in half an hour. | :04:59. | :04:59. |
