It's Wednesday afternoon, you're live with Newsround with me, Ayshah. | :00:07. | :00:08.
In Liverpool, hundreds of people have come here to remember the | :00:09. | :00:25.
Hillsborough tragedy. And the kit for Team GB | :00:26. | :00:27.
athletes heading to Rio, First, people have been | :00:28. | :00:29.
gathering in the city They're there to remember the 96 | :00:30. | :00:32.
football fans who died in a disaster that happened in 1989, | :00:33. | :00:36.
the biggest tragedy Later, a special service | :00:37. | :00:38.
will be taking place. Hi, Ricky. | :00:39. | :00:56.
High. Yes, all day, hundreds and hundreds of people have been coming | :00:57. | :00:58.
outside St George 's Hall here in the heart of Liverpool to remember | :00:59. | :01:05.
the 96 football fans who lost their lives 27 years ago. Lots of children | :01:06. | :01:09.
have been coming down here as well today looking at the candles, and | :01:10. | :01:12.
also wrapping their football scarves around the lamp posts. This comes | :01:13. | :01:15.
after a big investigation which ended yesterday into how and why | :01:16. | :01:19.
these football fans died 27 years ago. But before we find out about | :01:20. | :01:23.
that, let's take a look at what happened on that tragic day back in | :01:24. | :01:25.
1989. On Saturday the 15th of April, 1989, | :01:26. | :01:34.
Liverpool fans arrived at Sheffield Wednesday's Stadium to watch the FA | :01:35. | :01:39.
Cup semifinal. Too many fans were let into the stadium, and many of | :01:40. | :01:43.
them got caught up in a crush. 96 people died, and hundreds more were | :01:44. | :01:49.
injured. Because of this disaster, football stadiums have changed. Fans | :01:50. | :01:54.
all have seats, and there are no longer metal fences between the | :01:55. | :01:59.
pitch and the stands. This has made football ground is much safer, so a | :02:00. | :02:02.
disaster like this could never happen again. | :02:03. | :02:04.
The Hillsborough disaster is something a lot of adults | :02:05. | :02:06.
Yesterday, a big investigation into how the 96 football fans | :02:07. | :02:11.
They found out that it was, of course, something very appalling. | :02:12. | :02:20.
It was decided they were unlawfully killed - | :02:21. | :02:22.
that means it wasn't an accident - and organisations including | :02:23. | :02:24.
the police and ambulance service made mistakes. | :02:25. | :02:30.
You can hear the rehearsals going on behind me right now. There is going | :02:31. | :02:35.
to be an event commemorating all those football fans who died, but | :02:36. | :02:39.
lots of schoolchildren have been coming down here today as well to | :02:40. | :02:43.
lay their own wreaths and flowers, and also to leave there and personal | :02:44. | :02:46.
messages. This is what some had to say. | :02:47. | :02:49.
You didn't deserve this. We all feel for you. We all hope your families | :02:50. | :02:57.
are OK. RIP those who died in the tragedy. They are in a happy place. | :02:58. | :03:02.
I hope all those who have sadly lost their lives can now rest in piece, | :03:03. | :03:05.
knowing that they have justice. My thoughts are with the family is | :03:06. | :03:08.
always. You will never walk alone. We | :03:09. | :03:13.
weren't around when it happened, but we know everything that has | :03:14. | :03:15.
happened, everything behind it. And what everyone has gone through to | :03:16. | :03:20.
get to this point. And everyone is overwhelmed and so happy about the | :03:21. | :03:22.
outcome. I think it is just something we have | :03:23. | :03:27.
all grown up with, knowing about Hillsborough, sort of one of those | :03:28. | :03:30.
main events that changed football. Families can be addressed and they | :03:31. | :03:33.
can grieve like they were meant to all those years ago. | :03:34. | :03:34.
Later on, a special service is happening inside this hall. | :03:35. | :03:36.
Remember, you can head to Newsround online to find our full guide | :03:37. | :03:39.

in 1989, why it's still important today, and more | :03:42. | :03:44.

Tom Daley modelled the kit at the launch, which marked 100 days | :04:10. | :04:12.
Many athletes are still waiting to find out if they'll be wearing | :04:13. | :04:19.
