Hi, I'm Ayshah and this is Newsround. | :00:11. | :00:12.
First up this guy, Adam Peaty is shaking up the swimming world | :00:13. | :00:18.
And he won gold in the World Championships | :00:19. | :00:23.
He keeps breaking so many records we can hardly keep up. | :00:24. | :00:27.
Here's what you need to know about him. | :00:28. | :00:33.
Superstar swimmer, record breaker and hip-hop music fan. I'll tell you | :00:34. | :00:40.
more later! Adam Peaty! He broke his own world record in the swimming | :00:41. | :00:47.
pool. Not once. World record to Peaty in the heats. But twice. 2610 | :00:48. | :00:56.
is the world record... Being the first swimmer in the world | :00:57. | :01:02.
to go under 26 seconds in 50 metres. There is not many things you can do | :01:03. | :01:07.
in 26 seconds, maybe take a selfie, text your mum or watch a tiny bit of | :01:08. | :01:12.
Newsround. Think about it, by the time you've done that, Peaty's | :01:13. | :01:17.
already stormed and is probably chilling at the other side waiting | :01:18. | :01:22.
for the others to catch up. That's why we are giving him the nickname | :01:23. | :01:29.
super peat! Here are three other cool facts about him. He listens to | :01:30. | :01:32.
hip-hop and grime before he go force a race. He gets up at 4am to work | :01:33. | :01:41.
out! And he used to be scared of sitting down in the bath! Seriously, | :01:42. | :01:46.
his mum said he didn't like water. But look at him now! A world record | :01:47. | :01:51.
holding hip-hop and grime listening swimming machine. You go, Adam! | :01:52. | :01:57.
Next, Outer space might be closer than we thought! | :01:58. | :01:59.
Everything in the universe is made up of tiny little | :02:00. | :02:02.
Now, scientists in America say that up to half of the atoms in the Sun, | :02:03. | :02:08.
Earth, and even our bodies were previously part | :02:09. | :02:10.
They were blown here by powerful 'galactic winds'. | :02:11. | :02:14.
Recently, the numbers of these tiny mammals have dropped. | :02:15. | :02:20.
Whitney went to meet the people on a mission to help them. | :02:21. | :02:29.
The hazel dormouse weighs between 18-20 grammes, fruits, flowers, nuts | :02:30. | :02:36.
and insects are what they like to eat and woodland in parts of England | :02:37. | :02:40.
and Wales is where they live. I've come to these woods in | :02:41. | :02:44.
Nottinghamshire where nest boxes have been put up to help keep | :02:45. | :02:48.
dormice safe and it's Ian's job to help monitor them. | :02:49. | :02:54.
Any there? No, none there. I'll put it back on and move on to the next | :02:55. | :03:02.
one. Looks like we've got a dormouse in there in a deep sleep. We'll take | :03:03. | :03:07.
that off and have a look and see what that is. That's what we do as | :03:08. | :03:11.
part of the national monitoring programme. So anything we find, we | :03:12. | :03:21.
check them. They go into a large bag to make sure if they're active, they | :03:22. | :03:26.
can't escape. They're very fast and very good climbers. Is it sleeping | :03:27. | :03:36.
right now? It's in a deep sleep because it's been raining and cold | :03:37. | :03:42.
up here. Oh, my gosh. So cute. We have marked some of these animals | :03:43. | :03:46.
with a small chip and we are just looking to see if this one's got one | :03:47. | :03:50.
in. I don't think it has. So we'll put him in a Spall bag to weigh him. | :03:51. | :03:55.
Plenty of air in there for the amount of time this dormouse is | :03:56. | :04:01.
going to be in there. Hold that up. 19 and a half. How often do you | :04:02. | :04:06.
weigh them? We check boxes once a month. Why are they on the decline? | :04:07. | :04:11.
Because we don't manage our woodlands particularly well. We used | :04:12. | :04:16.
to cut them to take timber out and firewood and we don't do that any | :04:17. | :04:21.
more. A lot of the woodland is becoming shaded and the areas where | :04:22. | :04:26.
they used to live is not frequently found in woodland any more. So now | :04:27. | :04:32.
he's back inside the box so we just block that hole again with a bung so | :04:33. | :04:39.
he can't escape. And we take this box and put it back on the tree | :04:40. | :04:44.
where we found it and now we know he's back safely in his box where | :04:45. | :04:49.
he'll probably stay for the rest of the day. | :04:50. | :05:03.
My favourite TV show is The Dumping Ground | :05:04. | :05:07. |
