Hi, Whitney here -
live from the Newsround studio. | 0:00:03 | 0:00:06
Coming up in the next few minutes... | 0:00:06 | 0:00:09
We catch up with the stars
of the final Maze Runner movie. | 0:00:09 | 0:00:13
The girl who is stuck on slime. | 0:00:13 | 0:00:16
And some seriously
skilled snow moves. | 0:00:16 | 0:00:23
But first... | 0:00:27 | 0:00:28
It's a big day for tennis fans
as Roger Federer has | 0:00:28 | 0:00:31
won his 20th Grand Slam title. | 0:00:31 | 0:00:35
He has just finished
playing Marin Cillic | 0:00:35 | 0:00:36
in the Australian Open final
and it was an absolute thriller. | 0:00:36 | 0:00:40
They fought it out in five sets
for three hours and two minutes, | 0:00:40 | 0:00:44
with Federer winning
the final set 6-1. | 0:00:44 | 0:00:47
Huge congratulations
to Roger from Newsround. | 0:00:47 | 0:00:50
Now, are any of you guys
Maze Runner fans? | 0:00:50 | 0:00:54
Well, today the final
film in the movie series | 0:00:54 | 0:00:56
hits the big screens. | 0:00:56 | 0:00:57
Newsround went to meet some
of the stars of the movie to find | 0:00:57 | 0:01:00
out what you guys can
look forward to. | 0:01:00 | 0:01:04
We're running out of time. | 0:01:04 | 0:01:05
You've seen what's
happening out there. | 0:01:05 | 0:01:08
This is the most action-packed
of the three movies. | 0:01:08 | 0:01:13
Go! | 0:01:13 | 0:01:15 | |
Hang on! | 0:01:15 | 0:01:16
There's some big, fun,
exciting scenes this time. | 0:01:16 | 0:01:20
The special effects look amazing. | 0:01:20 | 0:01:23
The last city,
the base of operations. | 0:01:23 | 0:01:25
The drama between these characters. | 0:01:25 | 0:01:27
Do you regret it? | 0:01:27 | 0:01:28
What you did to us? | 0:01:28 | 0:01:30
I did what I thought was right. | 0:01:30 | 0:01:31
The acting is amazing. | 0:01:31 | 0:01:33
Especially your acting. | 0:01:33 | 0:01:34
My acting? | 0:01:34 | 0:01:35
Yes. | 0:01:35 | 0:01:36 | |
Very good. | 0:01:36 | 0:01:37
Yeah. | 0:01:37 | 0:01:38 | |
It's unbelievable. | 0:01:38 | 0:01:40
Yeah. | 0:01:40 | 0:01:41 | |
You still care about her, don't ou?? | 0:01:41 | 0:01:43
Don't lie to me! | 0:01:43 | 0:01:44
It's entirely believable. | 0:01:44 | 0:01:45
I was going to say. | 0:01:45 | 0:01:46
Yeah. | 0:01:46 | 0:01:48 | |
It's believable. | 0:01:48 | 0:01:56
The opening was fun. | 0:02:00 | 0:02:02
It was very cool. | 0:02:02 | 0:02:03
Yeah. | 0:02:03 | 0:02:04 | |
That was out in the desert. | 0:02:04 | 0:02:05
It was very hot out there. | 0:02:05 | 0:02:07
Yeah, that was actually terrible. | 0:02:07 | 0:02:11
I think my favourite part to film
was the ending because we'd been | 0:02:11 | 0:02:14
preparing for it for five years
and we knew it was coming | 0:02:14 | 0:02:17
and we wanted to make it
the biggest, loudest, | 0:02:17 | 0:02:19
most adrenaline-rush
of all the movies. | 0:02:19 | 0:02:26
No, luckily in this one,
all I had to train was wearing heels | 0:02:26 | 0:02:29
because she's in the office,
so I didn't have to do any more | 0:02:29 | 0:02:33
running or climbing or sprinting,
which I was very relieved about, | 0:02:33 | 0:02:36
but it turns out wearing
heels for 18 hours a day | 0:02:36 | 0:02:39
is almost worse than running. | 0:02:39 | 0:02:40
The stunt sequences in this one
were things that we had to, | 0:02:40 | 0:02:43
you know, learn weeks ahead
and I think it was like the first | 0:02:43 | 0:02:46
time really we've ever had,
specially for us, a choreographed | 0:02:46 | 0:02:50
fight kind of thing and so... | 0:02:50 | 0:02:54
We learned that right
at the very beginning. | 0:02:54 | 0:02:56
Yeah, like the first thing we did. | 0:02:56 | 0:02:58
Yeah. | 0:02:58 | 0:03:01 | |
It's weird, I don't think we ever
thought it would end because we've | 0:03:01 | 0:03:05
had such an amazing time and five
years sounds so long | 0:03:05 | 0:03:07
when you're 20 years old. | 0:03:07 | 0:03:10
Each movie has always been a kind
of cliffhanger and this movie we get | 0:03:10 | 0:03:13
to finally have a "the end"
at the end, you know. | 0:03:13 | 0:03:16
So it's been fun to do that. | 0:03:16 | 0:03:20
Next, millions of people around
the world are obsessed with slime. | 0:03:20 | 0:03:24
But why is it such a hit? | 0:03:24 | 0:03:26
Well, one person who might
know is 16-year-old | 0:03:26 | 0:03:28
slime superstar Alyssa. | 0:03:28 | 0:03:29
Check this out! | 0:03:29 | 0:03:32
I think slime has become so popular
because it is creative | 0:03:32 | 0:03:36
and it is interesting
and it is something different | 0:03:36 | 0:03:38
from what we usually see. | 0:03:38 | 0:03:46
I actually try to stick my
slime-making only on the weekends, | 0:03:53 | 0:03:58
because during the week I'm really
busy at school. | 0:03:58 | 0:04:01
I'd be making it forever,
since I was little, with my mum, | 0:04:01 | 0:04:04
sometimes in science classes. | 0:04:04 | 0:04:09
The basic component is your glue
base, your PVA glue and then | 0:04:09 | 0:04:12
your activator consists
of laundry detergent. | 0:04:12 | 0:04:16
A surprising ingredient is shaving
cream because it makes it super | 0:04:16 | 0:04:18
fluffy and fun to play with. | 0:04:18 | 0:04:22
A big thing with my page
is I like to have a lot of variety. | 0:04:22 | 0:04:25
I don't stick to one type of slime. | 0:04:25 | 0:04:28
People may think this is crazy. | 0:04:28 | 0:04:32
I have some pigments,
glitter and micro beads, | 0:04:32 | 0:04:35
and ingredients that I buy online. | 0:04:35 | 0:04:39
Lotion, contact lens
solution, shaving cream. | 0:04:39 | 0:04:46
I just think that people find
it intriguing and it's | 0:04:46 | 0:04:49
really satisfying. | 0:04:49 | 0:04:51
Satisfying is probably one
of the biggest things | 0:04:51 | 0:04:53
people say about slime. | 0:04:53 | 0:05:01
Now, if you're into your extreme
sports there's been some pretty epic | 0:05:05 | 0:05:08
performances this week in the X
Games. | 0:05:08 | 0:05:13
First up we've got
the men's big air. | 0:05:13 | 0:05:15
Take a look at this. | 0:05:15 | 0:05:22
I couldn't even begin to count
the number of flips he did there, | 0:05:22 | 0:05:25
but it's not just the men
who have been impressing. | 0:05:25 | 0:05:27
This run was enough to get
Anna Gasser her first | 0:05:27 | 0:05:30
X Games big air gold medal. | 0:05:30 | 0:05:31
But if you think the X Games
are all about skiing | 0:05:31 | 0:05:34
and snowboarding, well,
you'd be wrong. | 0:05:34 | 0:05:35
Check this out. | 0:05:35 | 0:05:40
I wonder who actually figured out
you could flip a snowmobile. | 0:05:40 | 0:05:47
That's all from me for now,
but I'll be back right | 0:05:47 | 0:05:49
here just after 2pm. | 0:05:49 | 0:05:51
In the meantime though,
don't forget to head online to keep | 0:05:51 | 0:05:53
up with all the rest
of the day's stories. | 0:05:53 | 0:05:55
See you soon. | 0:05:55 | 0:06:01 |
