It's Friday. I'm Martin - stick with us to find out what happened when

this old building got one prod too many.

And join me as I report from Mars. Well, sort of.

Let's start then with new attempts to answer one of our universe's

biggest questions - is there life on Mars? A massive replica of the red

planet - built right here in the UK - is being used to develop the very

latest rovers that will find out more about Mars than ever before.

Nel's been to a converted warehouse in Stevenage to find out how it

works. What is it that you are doing here?

We are developing all of these rovers to go to Mars in 2018. We

need to be able to test them in an environment. We have had to build

several different rovers to develop different parts of the actual final

system that will go. The first one is called Bridget. We also have

Bruno and Brian. Once they are on Mars, we cannot help them if they

get stuck. Which is now -- which is why Brian now has a bigger and

better movement to help him on Mars. This enables us to study this in

great detail and there are two rovers running around on the surface

right now operated by NASA. We can see a small region with the

curiosity Rover. There is a larger region outlined in red. We can also

zoom in and look at the blue section here with a high resolution camera.

That will be looking for where to look for signs of life. This is the

first European mission and we are looking for signs of life, past and

present. This bigger and better facility brings the European space

at the European Space Agency one step closer to its first space

mission. It is another small step for mankind.

To the day's other news and the teams searching for the missing

Malaysia Airlines flight think it might be several hundred miles from

where they'd been looking. It's after the latest data suggested the

plane ran out of fuel earlier than thought before it crashed into the

Indian Ocean. Australian officials say their focus is now on an area

almost 700 miles away from the last search zone. Flight MH370 went

missing mid-flight three weeks ago - something that's extremely rare.

There's more on the missing plane along with lots of help and advice

if anything you see in the news upsets you, on the Newsround

website. From tomorrow, same-sex couples will

be able to get married for the first time in England and Wales. Up until

now, gay couples have been able to have a civil partnership which is

similar to marriage but doesn't give all the same rights. Some religious

groups say they are not happy with the changes - and will not carry out

gay weddings. Scotland's announced plans to make same-sex marriage

legal too in the future - but there are no such plans in Northern

Ireland. And Chelsea's Frank Lampard has

joined forces with the Premier League and National Literacy Trust

to try and get more boys reading. The Trust's own research suggests

fewer boys than girls read outside of school and almost two out of

three prefer watching TV to picking up a book. Here's Frank saying why

he thinks it's so important. It is a basic life skills. It is an easy

thing to do and a great way to use your imagination, to read books and

enjoy them. There are -- there is lots of time for lots of different

things for children and reading a small amount of time is enjoyable.

And you've been telling us what you think would get more boys reading on

the website all day. Finally to that old building we saw

at the start of the show. This engineer was working to secure the

empty building and make it safe when he prodded one set of bricks a

little too hard and the whole thing suddenly came crashing down around

him. Fortunately he was safe and nobody else was injured because the

area around the building was cordoned off from the public.
